In the end, Tianyi held back. No matter how polite the devil seemed, it was all false. All devils were driven by sin.

He observed Knight Furcas from within UFO MK II. After calculating his chances of keeping the devil lord, Tianyi gave up. Even though he had mastered the Divine Law of Lightning, giving him more abilities he could use in this identity, he wasn’t confident he could capture Marquis Decarabia, much less Knight Furcas.

Part of the reason was that his sensors had not detected the devil marquis when he bombarded his former location. Granted, this was if Knight Furcas’s words were true. Although Knight Furcas had a different nature than Marquis Decarabia, he didn’t know who would win if the two fought. Before, he might have said it was impossible for him to lose, but he didn’t dare underestimate any devil after his previous encounter with Marquis Decarabia.

Even if he won, Tianyi didn’t think he could capture Knight Furcas into his inner world. Divinities had worlds inside their bodies, but they could not use them as flexibly as an inner universe or realm like Tianyi had. He only discovered later that the lightning world could not bring in external objects or life. If he did, it would take a vast amount of power to convert the object or life into a form compatible with the lightning world. The process would destroy the object or life.

Tianyi could take the items from the lightning world, but they would often destabilize and have multiple functions. It was like trying to force a two-dimensional creature to survive in three dimensions.

Only when the divine world matured and evolved closer to the universe would it not have this problem. For most deities, their divine world was nothing more than their core and power source, so it didn’t matter. For Tianyi, it meant he had to carry a realm conduit in order for this divine conduit to have the same functions.

And he couldn’t keep it in his divine conduit’s lightning world. Perhaps it was treated akin to turbulent or parallel spacetime; his conduit could not open the inner realm or inner universe, meaning he had to keep it outside. Not that this information mattered much in fighting against other divinities, since few would be so foolish as to invite an enemy into their divine world.

“I decline,” a mechanical voice said.

Knight Furcas showed a lamentable expression. “I see. That’s a pity. But I have a feeling that we will meet again. If you ever change your mind, the door’s always open.”

Just like how he had appeared, Knight Furcas disappeared. He shrank until he was too tiny to see. In his place was a black scroll that emitted a devilish aura.

Tianyi recognized it. It was detailed in many legends—the Devil Summoning Scroll. Once he used it, he could summon a devil as long as it wasn’t in a special location that altered spacetime or prevented a devil’s presence. He was wary of any hidden dangers left behind on the scroll, but he still accepted it. The scroll was stored within a compartment in the outer armor.

After this encounter, Tianyi did not stay in the Nine Hells Abyss for long and left. He wanted to reunite with his remaining realm conduit—first, to store the Devil Summoning Scroll inside the inner realm and carry it within the angel. To do this, he had to modify the UFO MK II to accommodate two cores inside the inner frame: the divine conduit and the realm conduit.

He called them the Divine Core and Realm Core when installed into the angel, but in reality, they just changed their shape. The conduits’ essence remained the same.

After leaving the range of the three fortresses of the All Pantheon Alliance, he was stopped.

“Please wait a moment, Benefactor.”

Tianyi stopped upon hearing a familiar phrase. The space around him distorted, as if it were burned, revealing a golden man with feathers for hair sitting atop a blazing lotus. He recognized the golden man. How could he not? It was the Sūryaḥ Buddha of the Buddhist Pure Lands Pseudo-System.

“Who are you?” Tianyi pretended to ask.

“Amitabha, I am but a humble seeker of nothingness.”

Tianyi naturally didn’t believe him. He could still recall the words exchanged between the Sūryaḥ Buddha and the Concealed Emperor.

“My fellow seekers call me the Sūryaḥ Buddha,” he said.

“And why did you stop me?” Tianyi asked, still using the UFO angel’s mechanical voice.

“There’s no need to be so wary. I noticed your appearance, so I wanted to invite you to my system. It’s rare to meet a fellow divinity that hasn’t joined the All Pantheon Alliance.”

“Oh? I have my reasons for not joining, but what about you?” Tianyi asked. He was really curious as to where the Buddhists had disappeared to. It allowed them to fight the Numinous Sword Sect with confidence, but not knowing what happened to the Buddhists left a hidden danger.

The Sūryaḥ Buddha clapped his hands together. “I was forced to migrate. My home system had many factions, and we were just one of three. The most powerful faction did not welcome us and planned to destroy us. So we had no choice but to leave to save our lives. Only recently did we find a new home for ourselves.”

Although this was technically true, the Immortal Court had not taken action before the Buddhists left. They had always planned, but any of the three forces would have done the same if they had the power. The Sūryaḥ Buddha made it seem like the Immortal Court was a pure tyrant.

Tianyi pretended to go along. “Oh, then shouldn’t you be requesting to join the All Pantheon Alliance?”

“Yes, but not now. It will take some more time for our new home to flourish. I’m ashamed to say that if we join the All Pantheon Alliance, we would not receive a high status, so I am looking for allies. If you have a system, perhaps an alliance, but if not, how about joining our Veda System?” the Sūryaḥ Buddha asked.

“Oh?” the mechanical voice intoned, finally showing a hint of normal emotion. “Are you sure you want me to join? You only just met me, haven’t you? Perhaps I’m a vicious criminal wanted by all systems.”

The Sūryaḥ Buddha clapped his hands together. “Amitabha, I believe in the Benefactor’s character.”

Tianyi rolled his eyes. He guessed that the Sūryaḥ Buddha saw a newborn divinity and wanted to pull him in after not recognizing him. “Tell me the location, and I’ll visit if I feel like it.”

He’d be a fool to go along with the Sūryaḥ Buddha. Although the divine conduit wasn’t as convenient, it was still split from his inner universe, and he didn’t want to lose it for no reason. His other conduits couldn’t enter the lightning world easily, but the reverse wasn’t true.

The Sūryaḥ Buddha was very candid and told Tianyi. “Since I’ve already said everything, I’ll be taking my leave now, Benefactor.”

When Tianyi said nothing, the Sūryaḥ Buddha took this cue and left. His body blurred as if it were a mirage before completely vanishing.

“I really didn’t expect this,” Tianyi said to himself.

The Trimurti System was one of the most powerful pantheons before the Godsfall War, and it was because of its unique divinities. The word Trimurti referred to three divinities: Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. Brahma created the world, Vishnu preserved it, and Shiva destroyed it. The cycle between creation and destruction was called samsara, and it was where the word from the Three Thousand Immortal Realms System originated.

And the length of every samsara cycle was called a kalpa. In each kalpa, only the Trimurti remained. Civilizations developed, prospered, and declined. Accompanying this cycle were the gods. They formed powerful pantheons, but even the most powerful could not compare to the Trimurti. The new gods would perish at the end of each kalpa while the Trimurti remained eternal.

At least until the Godsfall War. Knowing the Trimurti System’s power, the devils had targeted them.

The other pantheons had rushed toward the Trimurti System to aid, but they didn’t think the devils would be able to do much. Even if they killed one of the Trimurti, two still remained, not to mention the countless gods within. That changed when the devils killed Brahma.

When Brahma fell, nearly thirty percent of the divinities in the Trimurti System also died. No, not just the divinities, but countless life also perished simultaneously. Those fallen divinities and life were pieces of Brahma. Once the main body fell, they also fell.

In actuality, all life in the Trimurti System was part of the Trimurti. Not even Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva were separate. They were also one being. When Brahma fell, the other two could revive him, but the devils did not give them the chance. Brahma’s fall also weakened Vishnu and Shiva’s power, causing them to fall.

Once the Trimurti died, all life in their home system also perished.

Tianyi thought that it would have recovered after so many years passed, but he discovered that wasn’t the case when God King Herakles convened the first All Pantheon Conference. It seemed that the Trimurti was more intricately linked than he thought.

After modifying UFO MK II, Tianyi decided to visit the Trimurti System—or the Veda System, as it was now called.

“Welcome, Benefactor. It warms my soul that you would accept my invitation,” the Sūryaḥ Buddha said.

Still in his angel disguise, Tianyi answered in a mechanical voice. “I just came to see the Veda System and whether it’s worth it or not to join.”

“You’ve already given me great face by coming,” the Sūryaḥ Buddha said. “I still have to ask if you are affiliated with any system.”

“I was born in nothingness,” Tianyi answered. That wasn’t a lie. The realm conduit was born in the True Nothingness.

“Oh? A natural divinity or a chaos fiendgod?” the Sūryaḥ Buddha asked.

Chaos fiendgods were divinities, but divinities were not necessarily chaos fiendgods. A chaos fiendgod had a more complete world that was compatible with the True Nothingness, unlike a divinity. They were also something unique to the former Pangu System.

So, Tianyi pretended to be puzzled. “Are chaos fiendgods equal to divinities?”

He didn’t know if the Sūryaḥ Buddha was scoping him out or not, but the latter still answered his question.

“You’re quite brave to invite me by yourself. What if I suddenly attacked you and seized this system for myself?” Tianyi asked.

The Sūryaḥ Buddha chanted while pushing the bodhi prayer beads. “Benefactor can try.”

Tianyi felt annoyed. He wanted to know if the Buddhists had another divinity. He suspected two, including the Sūryaḥ Buddha, but the latter’s words revealed nothing.

“Everything is just beginning for us, and it will take millions of years for everything to develop. Please don’t disdain the inadequate offerings, but I have prepared a welcoming ceremony for Benefactor,” the Sūryaḥ Buddha said. After a moment, he added, “I still don’t know Benefactor’s name.”

“Lingthing,” Tianyi answered.

He followed behind the Sūryaḥ Buddha into the Veda System. He could see new life budding in the once-decrepit system, but like the Buddha said, it would take millions of years for everything to get on the right track. So far, only a small portion of the land was habitable and stable. At the center of this Goldilocks zone was the Pure Lands Pseudo-System. No, it was no longer a pseudo-system—just the Pure Lands.

Tianyi could see thousands of bodhisattvas chanting on the mountain. He even caught sight of a familiar face, but the stagnant aura made Tianyi doubt if it was the Zi Zun he knew.

After the welcoming ceremony, Tianyi got down to business. “It’s not impossible for me to join, but what benefits can you give me?”
