Unnoticed by the systems, a new world appeared in the True Nothingness. It was a world that knew only of lightning. The world had no land and was composed only of cosmic gases, forming strange and beautiful patterns. Lightning flashed between the clouds, as if snaking between them. For now, no life was born in this world. After enough time passed, perhaps elemental lifeforms of lightning would gradually appear and eventually open up their spirituality and form a new civilization.

Just as soon as the lightning world appeared, it vanished, revealing a man wearing white robes and carrying a staff in his hand. He was naturally Tianyi’s realm conduit in the guise of a mage from the Avalon System. The world of lightning was the result of him using the inner realm as the foundation to become a divinity.

Even if an immortal mastered a divine-level law, they would only be pseudo-divinities at best. To reach the standard might of a divinity, they had to create a new world inside their body. The three flowers formed from the three fused laws would wilt, leaving behind one seed. That seed was the foundation of a divinity. After absorbing enough energy, it would create a new world. As long as that world was not destroyed, a divinity was eternal.

Tianyi didn’t know it back then, but when he entered the Immortal Realm, he had actually used a similar process. From that point on, he could already be considered a pseudo-divinity. He had not mastered a divine-level law, but Tianyi had already acquired what only divinities could possess.

Even if he succeeded, Tianyi could not replicate the process. Had he not absorbed a trace of the Tribulation Essence, which also contained part of the Heavenly Dao’s quintessence and the aura of a divine-level law, he would have failed. Had Tianyi not merged the principles of the Ten Heavenly Classics into his Nine-Five Scripture, he would have also failed. His success contained many coincidences and traces of luck. Otherwise, he would have failed.

Upon recalling the event, Tianyi couldn’t help but wonder if someone had been subtly influencing him to reach his current height. However, he dismissed the theory. If they had, they should have appeared in front of him by now.

Having used the inner realm as the foundation for the world, the inner realm had irrevocably changed. True, it had become more powerful, but it had lost connection to Tianyi’s Nine Heavens Universe. Now, the transfer between them was no longer as smooth and easy. Once the lightning world’s energy dissipated, it could not recover immediately by absorbing the Nine Heavens Universe’s essence. This was the trade-off for a more secure identity.

Now that he had reached the divine level in the Law of Lightning, Tianyi decided to make another visit to the Nine Hells Abyss. Since the original angel was destroyed, he made another one. It took another few hundred years, but once he completed it, he immediately made his way toward the Nine Hells Abyss.

To make his identity trace-less, Tianyi had flown all the way and hadn’t teleported. A divinity of lightning might be able to teleport inside a system, but that was practically impossible in the True Nothingness unless they mastered the Law of Space to the divine level. The distance he traveled compared to before was even longer than when he first descended using the UFO because his speed had increased after mastering the Divine Law of Lightning.

When nearing the Nine Hells Abyss, especially the three mobile fortresses, Tianyi slowed his speed and cloaked his presence. To prevent the All Pantheon Alliance from suspecting his double identity or thinking he had an insider, he had done this well beyond their detection range and not right before, in case they had some unknown method to sense him.

Once he entered the second level of the Nine Hells Abyss, Tianyi used his fastest speed to rush toward the sixth level. Once he arrived, he scanned the surroundings. It had changed quite a bit, with a large crater and no sign of any devil. As Tianyi expected, he could not sense Marquis Decarabia.

Well, he did not expect the devil lord to wait for him patiently like a lamb to the slaughter. Tianyi was confident that Marquis Decarabia couldn’t have gotten far if he had left. The benefits of a fungal network for a body were large, but so were its downsides.

Tianyi immediately rained judgment upon the land. His second angel resembled the first one in shape, but if the first one was a ship, the second one was a fully armed warship. In addition, it had three rings circling it, each one on a different vector.

The three rings constantly released crescent-shaped energy blades that gouged the ground. Bullets rained down on the ground. They weren’t bullets condensed from lightning, but actual metal bullets. It was similar to the principle of a rail gun, but with the advancement of Tianyi’s mastery over the Law of Lightning, the power had dramatically increased.

Even an immortal sovereign who majored in the Law of Metal would not be able to create such a powerful bullet. This was not because of Tianyi’s mastery of the Law of Metal, but a pure mystery that originated from his Divine Law of Lightning.

Once a law reached the divine level, it would have the effect of one law possessing characteristics of all laws. It simply meant that the divinity could use his primary law to reproduce the effect of other laws. For example, the Law of Lightning would be able to replace the Law of Metal, like Tianyi had done. Its power would exceed any cultivator who focused on the reproduced law as long as they hadn’t reached the Divine Realm.

An immortal sovereign who majored in the Law of Water would not be able to contend with the power of a divinity who used the divine law to emulate the Law of Water. Of course, a divinity of lightning would not be able to rival a divinity of water regarding anything related to water and vice versa.

The cultivators of the Three Thousand Immortal Realms called this power Daobirth: one dao births all daos.

Soon, a hole formed from multiple craters appeared below Tianyi, and he stopped. Despite gouging hundreds of kilometers deep into the ground, Tianyi found no sign of Marquis Decarabia. He didn’t stop willingly, but because it would be dangerous if he continued.

The density of the devilish energy had reached a peak. Perhaps even the seventh or eighth layer would not have the same density of energy. This was the Nine Hells Abyss’s auto-repairing instinct. If land was damaged, devilish energy would gather there and condense into new land. The more damage it received, the greater the devilish energy present.

To avoid contamination from the dense devilish energy, Tianyi drove UFO MK II away. The entire time, he had kept his senses open to detect Marquis Decarabia, but saw no signs. Although disappointed, Tianyi had already expected this. The UFO angel cloaked itself and moved far away. Now that he had mastered the divine-level Law of Lightning, he dared to enter the seventh layer.

At least, that’s what Tianyi planned. Before he entered, a devil stopped him. It wasn’t an attack, but a friendly shout.

“Whoa there, unknown god.”

Tianyi stopped and scanned his surroundings. It was only at this moment that he realized that a figure—no, two figures—had appeared within his range without him realizing. He was a seemingly simple man dressed in Western armor and riding atop a pale horse.

Such a normal scene would not have been out of place in the Avalon System or other systems correlating to the European countries on Earth, but this was the Nine Hells Abyss. Not to mention that he had successfully entered Tianyi’s range without him noticing.

The UFO flew over and descended slightly until it was levitating just above the ground.

“Who are you?” a mechanical voice asked.

The devil in human guise smiled. “I didn’t realize that the etiquette outside the Nine Hells Abyss had deteriorated to this extent. It seems that even after millions of years, civilizations have not yet advanced to polite society.”

Tianyi did not want to play his games. So, the multiple rail guns on the UFO aimed at the unknown devil.

“Well, you sa—”

Tianyi did not give him any more chances to speak and immediately fired the rail guns, destroying the ground where the devil once stood. “It’s not polite to sneak up on someone. You might accidentally get attacked.”

“I see. I’ve been without intelligent company for so many years that I’ve lost my manners.”

He wasn’t surprised to see the unknown devil appear in another spot. This time, Tianyi had fully opened all his sensors. When the rail guns had destroyed the devil’s body, the tiny microscopic germs and viruses in the devil’s known location grew and transformed into him. It seemed that this new devil had powers related to the plague.

The unknown devil bowed from atop his steed. “I am Knight Furcas, the fiftieth devil of Solomon.”

Tianyi never expected the devil to reveal his name. Still, he suspected subterfuge, so he didn’t respond.

“It’s my true name,” Knight Furcas said. He revealed a smile, as if he didn’t care if Tianyi believed him or not, and continued to speak. “I was born a devil, but not of the Nine Hells Abyss. Haven’t you wondered why we seventy-two devils were called the Seventy-Two Devils of Solomon? That’s because we were created by that man. He was the man closest to the Almighty, so he emulated the Almighty’s act of creating angels by creating us. Unfortunately, that man did not have the ability, so he could only copy the process, and thus seventy-two devils were born. Because of this, we were bound by certain rules, such as being unable to lie about our identities. It was a rule most vexing for Dantalion.”

Knight Furcas chuckled, but Tianyi didn’t know if he could believe the devil or not. He had heard rumors about their birth, but because he couldn’t find any records of the actual Solomon, he thought it was one part of history that did not match up with Earth’s history.

“Lingthing,” the mechanical voice said. “Now then, devil, what do you want?”

“It’s nothing,” Knight Furcas said. “I sensed the presence of an old friend and wanted to see him again, but I never expected you to appear.”

“Unfortunately, he ran away,” Tianyi said.

“No, no,” Knight Furcas said. “You’re both right and wrong. Decarabia was still there when you first appeared. Your bombardment forced him to discard his body. He probably won’t appear for at least another hundred thousand years. It takes a long time to grow to that size, you know?”

Tianyi furrowed his brows, not that the UFO could express this. “So what? That just means he is still alive and evaded me. Why did you appear in front of me?”

He had only seen Knight Furcas avoid one of his attacks, something Marquis Decarabia was also capable of, but he had a feeling that the former had reached the divine level.

“I just saw an interesting individual,” Knight Furcas admitted. “I can sense their divine aura through their cloaking, but it feels weird. Empty, even. Almost as if they don’t exist and the aura was nothing more than a disguise. How can I pass up such an encounter? How about it? Want to form a contract with me? I boast the most amiable connections of all devils present. Whatever you want, I can negotiate with the other devils.”

Although Tianyi was tempted, he was more worried that Knight Furcas could sense his disguise. For now, he planned to get more information. “What about controlling the World Will?”

The World Will was what other systems called the Heavenly Dao. Some World Wills were weak, but others were strong, but only the Heavenly Dao had such a dominant influence on its own system.

“Ah,” Knight Furcas raised his hand and stroked the air under his helmet, as if it were a beard. “Quite a demander. I do know a few things, but that would require a contract first. If it were anything less great, I might have given you a trial period, but the World Will is different. Even for devils, the World Will is crucial. I just can’t leak anything. You understand, right?”

Tianyi stayed silent. He was contemplating whether to agree or not.
