EBook Special - After 20 years, it seemed nobody got married
New York, America, at a certain restaurant
"Good work"
Siesta, Charl and I toasted to each other. This gathering was basically an appreciation function, as we had just settled a really big case.
"Kuu?, it really seemed we worked so hard for this one glass."
Charl reacted as though she was a salaryman who had just gulped down a glass of beer…but actually, it’s all non-alcoholic.
"Well, we managed to settle the case this time."
I enjoyed the food and shed the burden off my shoulder…but.
"I would think this would have gone smoother if you two got along a little better, no?"
Siesta seemed to be the only one displeased, and looked displeased at us, seated opposite her…in fact, we were in a little pinch during this mission, as Charl and I had a little quarrel.
"That’s because Charl just barged in and ignored the plan…"
"That’s because Kimizuka’s feet stink…"
That’s not even a reason!…Not at all, right?
"Assistant, don’t remove your shoes to ascertain this at a public place. And don’t look hurt."
Dammit, I did bathe properly…
"Ma'am, why did you choose this suspicious guy as your assistant?"
Charl asked Siesta. She probably thought she might be more suited as the partner…but the answer to that was really simple.
That’s because of my nature of getting involved with trouble easily. That nature could lure in the enemies and troubles, which Siesta wanted. It’s a really simple, pragmatic answer. That’s why Siesta’s answer would definitely be??
"…Who knows? Why exactly?"
Instead, I was met with a wry, somewhat perturbed smile.
"But at this point, this assistant has been somewhat mindful of me. He’s troubled because his love is too deep."
"Oy famous detective. Stop making up other people’s feelings."
"Huh, am I wrong? That is strange. My reasoning is absolute."
"More like your head’s roasted. It's time to retire. Retire."
We joked about, and Charl stared at us.
"For some reason, you two seem like an old couple who survived many death situations"
…Huh, what are you saying? Please allow me to reject such a woman.
"Ma'am, ignore Kimizuka and marry me already!"
"Thank you for saying that, but the Japan I love unfortunately doesn’t allow for same sex marriage."
"Th-that’s…"
"It’s so satisfying seeing someone else get rejected."
"Kimizuka, I won’t forgive you alone. Even my great grandchildren will hate you."
"Haha, great grandchildren? You sound like you’re getting married with someone."
"OOOO you!"
"You two can get married. I think you two might be unexpectedly compatible."
""PFFFFFFFFFFFTTTTTTTTT!!!""
"Please do not spit, both of you."
