This is a rework of a piece I’d written up for the novel submission website So You Want to Be a Novelist. 

It was originally written before my other series, Konosuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World!, and after a long, complicated history, it’s finally seeing publication. 

If I was to describe the plot in a single sentence, it would be “Lowly Combat Agent for an evil organization is sent off to the middle of nowhere.” 

It’s a little hard to classify, but I suppose it has elements of the sentai, sci-fi, and fantasy genres. 

At its heart, it’s a comedy. 

Anyway, for this work, the goal isn’t to defeat the Demon Lord and win world peace. 

Six and his partner Alice, sent off to this unexplored planet, will be getting into a lot of different adventures, developing the world with modern and advanced technologies, fighting the Demon Lord’s Army, running from local life-forms, and solving the various mysteries hidden on the planet. 

Even I’m not sure what’ll happen from here on out. I hope you’ll strap in and enjoy this journey with me. 

This time, while struggling to get this book out the door, I had the help of a particular author who read the manuscript and left me all sorts of feedback and comments. I won’t mention his name, but many thanks to you, Tappei Nagatsuki. 

I also want to thank everyone involved in getting this book produced, from the wonderful illustrator Kakao Lanthanum to my editor, sales staff, designers, editors, and everyone else. 

I’ll most likely be giving them a lot more headaches to deal with not just for Konosuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World!, but I’m in the process of writing more books in this series, so I’ll go ahead and apologize in advance here. 

I know we’ll get some complaints from people telling me not to cause the problems in the first place, so sorry about those! 

I feel like I’m apologizing to a bunch of people every time I turn in a manuscript. 

And I know this is all at the end, but finally, to all the readers who’ve picked up this book and given it a read, thank you so much!
