By the time I had found out, I had already become a grown-up. I have always been told to grow up faster, and I have always wanted to grow up faster, and now I really am a grown-up.

At first, I thought I had travelled through time. I thought I had slept on the stairs for ten years – but then, I remembered everything that had happened last night.

The pain in my body had gone away. It had left me.

All my teeth had grew back – even teeth I never had before, in the deepest place inside my mouth, one each in my upper right, lower right, upper left, and lower left.

These teeth must be the wisdom teeth I had heard from other people.

I do not have a mirror, so I checked my face with the metal parts of my backpack…I look grown-up. I look about the same age as my big sis.

My head felt heavy, and I only realised that my hair has also grown out. My chest was heavier, and I wondered what these things are…other than that, there were other parts of my body that had changed in addition to what I said.

It makes me think of that class in school where only the girls went. I thought it had nothing to do with me, because I had not even had a milk tooth replaced, but then, suddenly, I had passed everybody in that class.

I am now an eighteen-year-old woman, just like my big sis.

I can leave home now.

I thought god must have made my wish come true. I thought, perhaps, the Mister Snail I had stepped on was a god.

I thought I would be punished by god after I had stepped on it – but, somehow, it looked like I was rewarded.

I do not know what goes on inside the head of gods.

But now, I can leave home now.

I can go to where Hibari is.

I can live together with my big sis at long last.

When I threw away the backpack because of the pain, everything that was in the backpack had scattered all over the place, but I then found the spare key after a short moment.

The memo sticker with the address taped onto the key was still there, and I knew it was in a block of flats. The address was in a building called ‘Arrangement Flower Manase’, and the room number was number 307.

I thought of going there right away, but then I thought it would be better if I went there at night.

I may not know much, but I know that without any pieces of clothing, now that I am eighteen, if I went to big sis’s home in the day, it would be a bad thing.

I am already a grown-up.

I should pay attention to how I act around other people.

Big sis Hibari has classes too, so it would be better to wait until night came. If I stayed here, I do not think anybody would come here.

Anyway, the bed was solid, and it was noisy, so it was not a comfortable place to hide – but it is still more comfortable than the house.

This was my first sleepover.

I think I understand how mummy feels now.

I can sleep better when I am not at home.
