The Two Guards saw the downfall of the city that was turned into a ghost city. In an instant, the hierarchy that had been established for centuries had been destroyed. They didn't even understand why they weren't killed as well. Was it the Aetherian Beast being merciful? They weren't sure. "We need to leave this world," a guard highlighted, his body drenched in sweat due to fear. "Do you think we can leave? Did you forget why this city was established in the first place? It was because we couldn't leave! There is only one known exit, and it's being guarded by the Aetherian Beasts!' n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
'We couldn't even resist that one Aetherian Beast. How are we going to get past the others to leave?"
"Then what do you suggest we do? Stay here and wait for death? That beast left, but it doesn't mean the others won't come. This place is exposed. We can't stay here."
The Guard knew that they shouldn't survive for long even if they left the city. Still, he fell into peer pressure and agreed to leave. "Fine. We will leave the city. But before that, shouldn't we...?"
"Moreover, it's not as if we had any other choice. Do you think any of us could resist him?" Another youngster chimed in. "He has been here the longest. There are even stories that he was the person who established the city. I am sure he is more capable than he has shown us."
"He is a relative of the Lord of Time as well. Unlike us, he isn't a waste that was sent here to fight for glory. I have a feeling that he had a goal. If we are with him, we might get more than just glory."
"That's why, stop being lazy and start gathering the crystal. There are too many bodies here." He stabbed his hand inside the corpse of the beast and clawed out a crystal with the faint essence of the abyss. "A relative of the Lord of Time? That's an interesting topic you have going on. Would you tell me more about it?" A voice fell in the ears of the man who appeared to be the leader of the group. "As if you haven't heard the same stories," the man scoffed in response. "Wait a minute. What happened to your voice, Jiel?"
He turned around and what he saw made the blood stained crystal fall from his hand. The crystal landed on the ground, and rolled down to the person that was the reason behind this shock. Not far from the man, Karyk was standing. His hand was inside another man's chest, who was bleeding from his chest. Karyk pulled out the man's heart, crushing it in front of the others. They watched someone be killed right in front of their eyes. Still, they weren't worried about that person. Instead, they were worried about Karyk, who had managed to get so close to them, without alerting them. "Why are you silent?" Karyk asked, tossing the crushed heart toward the blue skinned man. The man slapped the remains of the heart away, his gaze more focused on Karyk. "Are you a newcomer?" he asked Karyk, but association with him to an Aetherian. "That's quite an interesting way to introduce yourself."
Although the number of newcomers had gone down, ever since the place was controlled by the Angels, there were still a rare few that would occasionally come over. For him, Karyk looked like them. He was too confident in his abilities, not realizing the vastness between heaven and earth.
