Isekai GM 43. Ultimate Magic

GuOOOOoooOOOOO!!!

Iro swung his tree-like arm towards the plaza. His body was so huge that its movement looked very slow. But with its body twice as big as Barry, any hit would be instant death.

Unfortunately for him, he was trying to attack several top players from another world. Hitting us wouldn't be that easy.

Hayato held his traffic sign and — wait, since when he had that thing as a weapon? He faced towards the fist and stabbed his traffic sign into the ground.

One-way Traffic!

His skill activated right before he was hit. A thin but large barrier appeared with the traffic sign at its center.

When Iro’s fist hit the barrier, his fist went completely still. Like its name suggested, the skill only allowed attacks to get through from a certain direction. This was way too powerful, but these kinds of skills tend to have demerits to balance it out, probably its duration.

Now’s the chancel Let’s climb this thing!

Tatsuma, Hayato, and Nemea used a random rubble as a platform and then jumped on top of Iro’s arm. Iro's arm was so wide that it could fit the 3 of them running side-by-side. Prince Leon rode his dragon and attacked from the sky. Meanwhile, Adelle and I used our magic and joined him.

After having his attack blocked, Iro focused his attention on Tatsuma’s group who were running up his arm. He grew vines and tendrils from his shoulder and back.

This was bad. Unlike me who could easily dodge the vines with minimal movements in the air, they couldn't move as freely especially when climbing the enemy’s body. I held one arm in front of me and targeted the vines.

MultiLock: Flame Javelin!

It took quite a toll on my concentration, but with my experiences from the previous fights and war, I could easily lock on multiple targets. The Flame Javelin divided into countless projectiles and rained onto the vines.

It couldn't burn everything, but Tatsuma’s group could easily deal with the rest of the vines with their weapons. Since we could easily deal with thinner vines and tendrils, Iro started bundling his vines into an even more thicker log-like vines.

— Booooom!!—

But suddenly, the bundled vines exploded into thousand little pieces. Before the vines finished bundling up, Akiha blew them away with her RPG.

Akiha mainly used her long-ranged attacks, so she didn’t need to climb up the vines. Besides, Hayato’s barrier was still active, she would be safe as long as she stayed inside. She could also deal with nearby vines with her desert eagle.

GUUOOOOOOOOH!!!

Iro let out an ear-shattering roar that even shook his surroundings like a sonic bomb. Everyone had to stop on their tracks and cover their ears. I must end it right now!

Rokudou Sen Gomi!

I aimed the skill right at Iro’s thoat. The weapon-shaped auras pierced his throat without much resistance.

----! ! —! ? ! ?

Hmm.

It seemed that he could still sense pain even though he was transformed into a plant.

Now that Iro couldn't disturb us with its roar, everyone could continue climbing without holding their ears.

This time Iro probably decided that I was the more dangerous target. He swung his arm towards me. A huge fist and bunch of vines came like a storm, but my Invincibility neutralized all of them.

If I got hit by the arm, I would probably fly into who knows where, so I’d definitely not be going to be hit by that. The vines however could be easily dealt with a swat of my sword. While avoiding the attacks, I flew near the head and used compound skill Wave Greatsword.

Iro seemed to sense danger, as he reallocated the vines from everyone to solely deal with my attack. The amount of vines were too many to count. The vines crept like rain, but my skill activated even faster than that.

HAAAAA!!

Long blade of light stretched out from my sword. The beam of light mowed down the vines and cut straight through Iro’s head and shoulder. It felt hard. Iro had stopped his attack and hardened his remaining vines as a shield. I couldn’t cut any further.

I won’t let you!

Adelle noticed something wrong. She came over and cut a portion of yet-to-be-hardened vines with her solidified mana blade. The rest were dealt by Akiha’s anti-materiel rifle. The severed vines fell to the ground.

The sunset could be seen behind the huge cut-mark on Iro’s body. Despite being severed from neck to torso, Iro raised his right arm and swung it towards me.

Damn. I was so focused on Iro’s neck that I left my defenses open. Just as I panicked, Nemea suddenly jumped towards Iro’s arm.

Decapitating Iron Kick!

Nemea’s leg shined in silver before he severed Iro’s upper arm. And yet, the fist didn’t stop. It blew away right before hitting me and spinning in the air before falling into the ground somewhere.

I couldn’t see it because of Iro’s shadow, but Tatsuma also jumped and followed Nemea. His entire body was covered in lighting and discharging electricity into his surrounding. It was a technique similar to Tatsuma’s, it used gauge as well.

They were both caught by Prince Leon’s dragon. The dragon, who was probably screaming due to overcapacity, managed to glide away to safety. Well, it would be unreasonable to ask it to continue fighting while carrying 3 people.

But still, to keep attacking even after being sliced like that was... I didn't think he could be considered as a living being anymore.

Maybe he had some sort of a weak point? But dragging the fight any longer would put a lot of burden for everyone else, especially against an enemy that could basically 1-hit you.

Should I......kill him in one hit?

Adelle, do you have a moment?

What is it?

Adelle flew nearby.

At the time, we discussed while we kept firing mana and flame javelins towards the nearby vines.

I think I know a spell that can destroy him with a single cast, but I don't have enough mana for it. Can you help me?

Mana? Ah I see. Sure. I learned this skill just for you anyway, so there's no reason to not use it. Please use my mana. Besides, that thing might accidentally hit the church while trying to hit us

Adelle agreed that it was the best possible short-term solution considering Yggdrasil church's condition.

As the fight progressed, Iro slowly but steadily moved himself towards the center of the city. The church had done its best surviving the vines, but there was no way they could handle this giant.

I’m casting a big spell! Everyone please buy me some time!

I warned them using system message. Meanwhile, Tatsuma were slashing vines away. Prince Leon used his sword and dragon breath skills to burn away the tendrils. Hayato stopped another fist using his One-way Traffic.

Come to think of it, it's the first time I've seen Nemea fight. Why did I feel that I’ve seen it before? It reminded me of a fighting game.

Nemea fired a shot from his fist and burned Iro’s arm into cinders.

The effect of my fire-element buff seemed to work well. I should ask more details about his skills after this fight. So far they had managed to prevent the vines from bundling. Furthermore, any direct attacks would be dealt by Akiha’s accurate gunshots.

While the others fought, I kept gathering mana into my hands. I concentrated every ounces of mana from the top of my head to the end of my foot. If I lost my consciousness here, all of the gathered mana would disperse or worse, run wild.

With Adelle by my side, I could at least not worry about plummeting myself to death. I could feel her mana from my back, flowing and circulating throughout my body. I had never handled this much mana at once.

The spell I’ll be using is one of the finishing moves that players use in guild wars. The way it worked was all mage-related players spent all of their MPs to cast a single destructive spell. Thanks to Adelle’s mana supply and my GM privilege, I could safely use this spell.

I focused my mind, keeping the image of how the spell would work.

I kept it until I literally couldn't hold the mana any longer.

M-masaki... What on earth are you trying to pull here? Using this much mana is...

Another spell used for castle sieges. I don’t want to use this but... It doesn't look like we have any other choice anyway

To me, the fact that Adelle still kept her calm demeanor when witnessing me handle this much mana was even more shocking.

GUAAAaaaAAOoOOOOOO!!!

As I gathered my mana, Iro became more and even more frantic. Meanwhile, Iro probably learnt that we were preventing him from bundling up his vines, so he reshaped the vines into spears and stormed us with sheer numbers.

But he was a step too late. I had finished casting.

Everyone run!

They all simultaneously jumped away from Iro. Spear-like vines rained upon us, but they all suddenly stopped in their path A traffic sign ! was stuck on the ground.

Hayato used his skill and summoned a sign above Iro, which seemed to stunned him.

Everyone had escaped far enough.

Time to finish this battle.

Ex'Haladio!!

--! ?

A large magic circle spread around Iro, forming a strong magical barrier that sealed his humongous body. After confining the target, light covered the whole city. The light itself didn't hurt because the damage was mostly contained inside the magic circle. But still, the intensity of the light was still too bright for direct eye contact.

The light started to disperse along with Iro who was trapped inside. Just like the rubbles around him. It was like nothing existed.

After the light had completely faded, the only thing that remained was a glass- like crater.

Ultimate Magic: Ex’haladio

It was a spell that could only be casted by a group of at least 36 high-level mages. Because of the difficulty to gather this many high-level mages, this spell was only used during guild wars. Whatever happened to Iro was the proof of this spell’s might.

This spell spread a barrier that created heat even hotter than the surface of the sun and vaporized anything unlucky enough to be trapped inside. Truly, this was an ultimate magic. Because of its high firepower and relatively short cast time, this spell was often associated with instant-death.

Both in the game world and this world, nothing was more fitting than to call this as ultimate magic.

It’s over

Such terrible magic. I’ve never heard this kind of magic before

I don’t think I’ll use it anymore. Even with you helping with the mana supply, it’s still difficult to use. Besides......

Besides?

It’s very tiring to use......

I was exhausted and collapsed on the spot.

Adelle reacted instantly and gave me a lap pillow.

Exhaladio opened a circular shaped hole in the cloudy sky and showed dazzling stars that illuminated our surroundings. I could faintly hear the other’s footsteps running over to me. From a far distance, I could hear the cheers of everyone who managed to survive.

The starry sky and the cheering really fit to mark the end of this war.
