Chapter 10


Haven: F*ck!

Jax: Haven . . .

The HOTD characters expressions bordered between shock and horror, while they stared at Haven's wound .

Haven's breathing turned slightly frantic as he touched the wound on his shoulder . When he saw their expressions, his face settled into a grim smile .

Boom!

Suddenly, a crash rang out from behind them . Temporarily forgetting about Haven, they witnessed something seemingly impossible .

Two beasts, locked in combat against each other, their punches caused small shock waves, strong enough to displace the air slightly and shake the ground .

One of them, Grey with bone plating, armor on its body while the other . . . was . . . Yukio?

His muscles grew outward from his body, as if they couldn't contain the sheer power that his body was emitting . His clothes were in tatters, mere strips that hung from his form .

His genetic mutation .

It was Muscular's quirk from Boku no Hero Academia!

Suddenly, a new layer of muscles grew out from his body and wrapped around his form, enhancing his already impressive power to newer heights . Yukio jumped forward and delivered a hay maker onto the Evolved zombie's head, smashing it down into the concrete .

He then picked it up from its neck and threw it into a building, demolishing it in an instant, causing a small amounts of debris to rain down onto his spectators heads .

Jax: That-that . . . H-Haven, I'm really not dreaming am I?

Haven: No . . . I see it too .

Saeko: How is that . . . possible? What is he?

Takashi: Haven . . . what you said earlier . . . you really weren't joking were you . . . there are exists things out there which . . .

Haven: Yeah . (He sighed witnessing the fight) You should all leave . We don't know where the other evolved zombies ar-

Boom!

Just as Haven was about to finish his sentence, another Evolved zombie landed from the sky, cracking the pavement and sending a massive shock wave throughout the area . It jumped forward to tackle Musculario(Muscle form Yukio) to the ground . The zombie, due to its increased intelligence was able to time it just as Musculario was prepared to jump after the first one and smash it .

The impact, staggered Musculario but he recovered and did a judo throw on the zombie behind him, smashing it into the ground beneath his feet . Only difference was, after flipping over the hulked zombie behind him, he kicked the hulk zombie like a football into its first comrade, knocking down the two of them like bowling pins .

Haven realized something after looking at the Evolved forms of the zombies . Sharp Melee weapons wouldn't work on them due to their bone plating . This would severely hinder Yukio from showcasing his abilities with his sword .

He needed to punch the zombies and slowly crack open their armor to be able to use the sword . Thankfully the Muscular quirk was a fairly strong one is regards to physical power .

What the quirk did was basically augment the user's muscles by a large degree . When a certain thresh hold of augmentation is reached, the muscles from the user's body will grow over the user's skin, forming an armor-like suit . The more the user forces the muscles to augment his or her body the more powerful the user's speed and strength will become .

The proof of its power was it being able to hold up against two full powered One For All "Smash's" in the Boku No Hero anime .

Unfortunately, Yukio now had to handle two Evolved ones .

Coming to his senses, Haven shouted at the group behind him .

Haven: Leave! You Have to leave now! This place has become a battlefield for monsters . . . if you stay you WILL DIE!

Takashi: Haven . . . we-we can't just . . .

Haven: I've been bitten already . It's too late for me . I'll try to be useful and clear off the Runners from Yukio so he doesn't get distracted . Now GO!

Haven smiled sadly to Jax and Izumi . He tried to convey his feelings without speaking .

Jax: . . . see you, I guess .

Haven: (Nodding) Haha! Come now, I won't die so easily .

Saeko: That's quite a manly thing to do . I commend you, Haven Crest .

Haven: What's with the formality?

Saeko: Er . . . I-

Haven: Save it . Go . Now .

Each of them sported a sad gaze when then looked at Haven but they did as they were told . Ms . Shizuka revved the engine and sped away towards the direction of the river .

Takashi glanced back one last time towards Haven, a frown marring his face .

A moment later, a notification rang out from God .

Haven: Sigh . Not sure what use that'll be . . . if I'm going to die with the infection .

[Haven . You only need to survive for 1 hour and 10 minutes . After that, the mission will end . ]

Haven: Seriously?

[Im sure . In any case, this is an opportunity . ]

Haven: No . . . no way? You mean . . .

[Yes . The Longevity realm . The one introduced in Side B . Once you break through all three realms, Longevity, Physical and Mental . . . do you understand what'll happen?]

Haven: Shit . . . Alright . Lets do this .

[Not so fast . We need to help Yukio . ]

Haven: Why?! If we exert ourselves too much then, our body won't have the strength to fight off the virus for that long!



[You are correct but if Yukio falls, the Evolved will go after the HOTD cast . At least kill any Runners if they appear . They might break his concentration . ]

Haven: I really hope you're right, Erin .

[Im sorry Haven . This is the best plan that we can follow . It's not like we can even hold a candle to one of these Evolved zombie guys . Besides, when am I ever wrong?]

Haven: What about that time when you said I should jump off the-

[Shush! The readers don't need to know that!]

Haven: . . . What?

As we finalized our plans, the melee fight between Musculario and the Evolved zombies started to get more intense as time went on .

The two Evolved zombies teamed up against Musculario and were attacking him together . He had no chance to retaliate as the two hulks seemed quite competent with backing up each other's attacks . With no other choice, Musculario could only dodge their punches and kicks and wait for them to make a mistake .

Soon, the First Zombie's primal instincts took over and instead of following up an attack from its comrade, it chose to jump forward and tackle Musculario into the ground, its mouth stretched open to take a chunk out of him in the process . It was thwarted however, when he punched forward with his right arm and stuck his fist into it's mouth . Musculario slid across the ground, withstanding the momentum from the Evolved Zombie's leap .

The zombie, feeling flesh enter into its mouth bit down as hard is it could, to try and eat the meat from the meal in front of it . Unfortunately Yukio was someone who had specifically enhanced his muscle density to an unprecedented level, in addition to him transforming into his Musculario form, the tensile strength of the chords of his muscles had reached a threshold nearing steel itself .

Mere rotten teeth could no longer break through it .

Musculario, using the vice grip of the zombie to his advantage, twisted his body in a circle, dragging along the zombie then jumped forward to smash down the body of the First Zombie onto the second one .

The impact sent debris flying all over the place and shook the the ground from the power of the blow . Haven, even standing far away felt the impact of the attack against the ground . He had to steady himself from the shock wave that crashed through the road and pavement .

When he glanced up, he witnessed Musculario clenching his hand around both the zombies necks . He wasn't able to crush them due to the plating that surrounded it but using his impressive strength, he threw both zombies into the air then wall jumped off an intact apartment wall, breaking it in the process, and soared through the air towards the two zombies .

As he reached them, time seemed to stand still for a moment . Musculario's leg suddenly took on a white glow and started sparking with energy . He smashed it down, onto the first zombie, who crashed into second one, bringing down both into the ground .

The impact left a giant crater into the ground and spawned a miniature earthquake which leveled most of the apartments in the area .

Haven stumbled backwards and fell down onto is back .

Haven: Holy F*cking Shit! They've gotta be dead right .

[I think . . . so?]

Musculario landed on the ground and jumped backwards appearing near Haven . Looking up at his giant form, Haven noticed he seemed to be breathing heavily .

Yukio: *Huf* *Huf* Kid, my ability is about to expire soon .

Haven: . . . Wait, what?!

Yukio: This form, It costs a lot of stamina to keep it up . Even for a short while . I only likely have 7 minutes left .

Haven: Did you kill them at least?

Yukio: No, I didn't . Their armor is way too tough . When my form expires, all the damage I'd have dealt would have been only enough to break away some of their armor . Which is why I'm going to need your help .

Haven: My help?! How can I even go against-

Yukio: Shut up . Listen carefully because I don't have much time . I'm going to give you my gun, I've already loaded it with high quality magic bullets . I heard from Rei Miyamoto earlier that you kept scoring head shots against zombies without catching a break . It just so happens that there are only two of those high quality magic bullets left . When my form expires, I wont be able to move a single muscle so you'll be the one whose going to shoot them . Do you understand?



Haven: I . . . sure . I guess .

Yukio: Good, because if you miss, we're both going to die .

The pressure was thick . If he messed it up, they would both be killed by the Evolved Zombies . If it was only a singular one, Yukio could handle it without any problems but two made it much harder . It wasn't so much that they were stronger than Yukio . In fact Yukio in his Musculario form had enough strength to go head to head with both of them at the same time but the only problem was their defense . Their entire body was covered in massive bone plating that acted as armor, defending all of their vital spots .

Yukio wasn't able to use his sword due to it not being a magical weapon . It wouldn't even cause any damage to the armor so he opted to use his fists to act as bludgeons to break away little by little . He was quite careful where he landed his blows as well . Making sure to hit the same areas over and over again, allowing the blows to exponentially wrack up damage .

And soon when the dust cleared away, the two evolved zombies were standing there seemingly relatively unharmed, but looking closer at their armor, massive cracks were spread all around their heads . The looked like faulty porcelain .

Getting ready, Yukio tossed him his handgun loaded with the two high grade magic bullets . He then jumped into the fray smashing the ground to separate them from each other . His plan succeeded when the zombies jumped away from each other . Musculario then ran towards the first zombie as it's body was more beaten up than number two . It attempted to retaliate with a slash using its claws, cutting towards Musculario .

Expecting the strike, Musculario ducked under the slash and grabbed its outstretched arm which was in motion . Turning backwards, he judo flipped the zombie and smashed it into the ground once more . He then raised his arm into the air and punched down into its face, breaking away most of the armor over yonder . The impact sent another shock wave into the air, causing Haven to tumble and fall once more .

Yeah, he still had weak legs

After successfully stunning the zombie he jumped away from it and continued towards the second one . Seeing him, heading towards it, the zombie roared out in anger . The sound deafened Musculario slightly, causing him to stumble slightly .

Seeing its chance, the zombie bounded over and tackled Musculario into the ground, smashing the broken asphalt open once more . It slashed down onto his face, forcing Musculario to raise his arm to protect his face .

Yukio: HAVEN GET READY!!

Haven: Uh . . OKAY!

.

.

Musculario's body pumped out the last amount of power that he held, augmenting his muscles once more . His body started growing slightly bigger . With the increase in Muscle strength, he punched upwards into the zombie's stomach and launching it off of his body and into the first zombie .

With a roar of power, he jumped 500 meters into the air, creating a small crater from the force of his leap alone . A light shone from the sky as he pumped his . . . KI? Chakra? Mana? Into his body and descended like a meteor .

The impact caused a gigantic explosion, sweeping Haven off of his feet and into the ruins of a building to his left . The shock wave broke down all the windows from the building ruins .

He quickly got up and ran into the smoke that Musculario caused . Following the sound of coughing he saw the sight of Yukio leaning against a broken pillar . His gigantic augmented muscles had receded away and like he said, he had lost all strength to move .

Haven's eyes quickly scanned the surroundings and found the partially broken bodies of Evolved Zombie 1 and Zombie 2 . They were still alive and attempting to stand up but couldn't force much power into their legs .

One thing that shocked Haven was the presence of their armor . Or should I say, a lack of it . Unwilling to dally any longer, Haven quickly aimed his gun and Zombie 2 . It's body looked much less battered than number 1 so he decided to finish it off quicker, in case it decided to attack once again .

Apparently, it sensed danger because it twisted its head to the side to look at Haven . Perhaps it felt that its death was imminent so in a last ditch attempt, it jumped towards Haven to take him down before he could shoot it .

Even as injured and broken as it was, its speed was still comparable to a Runner . Haven almost panicked at the sight of it jumping towards him but he steeled his nerves and pulled the trigger just in time .

When the bullet passed through its brain, its body instantly turned into dust, scattering into the wind . A close call too, it was at a range of 5 meters away from Haven before it disintegrated .

Zombie number 1 saw its comrade dying but it wasn't able to move its body as fast as it so it too succumbed to death by Haven's bullet .

Yukio:(weakly) Haven . *Cough*

Haven: Yukio . . . you did it .

Yukio: (Smiling) Of course I did . Im a motherf*cking god .

Haven: Sure . . .

[I'll admit, that was pretty amazing . ]

Haven: (I know, right?)

.

Haven walked over to Yukio's resting body and sat down next to him . Yukio had recovered enough strength to sit up slightly . He glanced at Haven and pulled out two cigarettes . He lit both, smoked one and passed the other to Haven .

Haven wanted to decline at first but remembering the shitty days that just passed, he decided to just let his inhibitions go .

Haven: Thanks .

Yukio: Heh, no problem kid . In fact, I should probably be thanking you .

Haven: What for? (Cough)

Yukio: Well, if it wasn't for you, we wouldn't have been able to kill those two, you know?

Haven: I (Cough) didn't really do anything (Cough) I just (Cough) shot them . You were the one who weakened both of them up enough for me to kill .

Yukio: (sighing)Sure kid . Whatever you say .

They both elapsed into a comfortable silence, with Haven occasionally breaking it with a few coughs .

Yukio: You got bit, didn't you?

Haven: . . . (Cough)

Yukio: You might not survive at this rate .

Haven: Probably, but at least . . . I'd have tried my best to do so .
