Souvenirs for parents
After our outing, I was relaxing in my bedroom in the Missfeed family mansion when there was a knock on the door.
After I replied, the door opened and Mina came in.
"what happened?"
"The goods have arrived for Alfried."
Ah, the magic stone crafted items I bought this morning seem to have already arrived at the mansion.
As expected from a high-end store, same-day delivery.
"Shall I bring it here?"
"Yes, please -- no, I'll help you carry it after all."
The prices of the items are so high that I'm afraid to let Mina carry them all by herself. She almost dropped and broke the Miss Feed family's dishes yesterday morning.
"It's okay. It's not that heavy, so please rest, Alfried."
"Oh, really? Be careful carrying them, okay? If you drop them they might break, and one costs more than thirty gold coins."
If it makes things easier for me, that's the best thing. If Mina is willing to carry it responsibly, I'll just ask her to do it.
"Excuse me! Please help me! If I do it alone my hands are shaking and I'm afraid I'll drop it!"
After I explained the precautions, Mina, who had been completely calm, bowed deeply and asked for my help.
"Uh, yeah. Let's do that..."
I do wonder if he is being a good servant, but I can't scold him because I would probably do the same thing if something were to happen.
I felt bad for forcing him to carry such expensive items, so I decided to help.
Mina guided me down to the first floor, where there were several suitcases at the edge of the entrance.
It is written.
Since the items are expensive, they don't seem to be packaged in something as cheap as a wooden box.
I opened the case a little and found a large amount of cushioning material inside. Pushing it aside, I could see the magic stone lamp inside.
Yep, that's definitely what I bought. There's enough for the whole family.
"Well then, shall I carry it?"
"yes"
Mina picked up two of the trunks, and I psychically levitated the remaining three cases.
It would be safer and easier if I carried everything, but it's not good for servants to carry anything in someone else's mansion.
As I walked down the hallway, I eventually came to the stairs leading to the second floor.
It may seem like an ordinary staircase, but it's a different story if you're holding expensive, fragile items in both hands.
Mina looked nervous as she stood in front of the stairs.
"Don't worry. If I'm here, I'll protect the items even if you fall down the stairs."
"Alfleet-sama! -- Wait, what? Does that mean you're going to ignore me as I fall down!?"
"I guess there's nothing we can do about that."
"...give me back my emotions."
There's nothing that can be done about it, since psychics have no direct effect on humans.
It might be possible to do something using other magic, but it depends on my reflexes.
In an emergency situation, I didn't have the confidence to prioritize protecting Mina over the goods.
Still, they were probably relieved to hear that the products were safe.
Mina's tension eased and we were able to carry her safely into the bedroom.

"Well, what should I do...?"
Standing in front of the trunk in my bedroom, I am troubled.
Since it's a fragile item, the safest thing to do is store it in subspace and bring it home.
However, since I had it sent to the Misfeed mansion, there's a good chance that the Misfeed servants and Mother Elna and her family are aware of the purchase.
"Al, are you coming in?"
While I was worrying about this, there was a knock and then Elna's mother's voice rang out.
When I replied, not only Elna-kaasan but also Nord-tousan came in.
"Some items have been delivered to the mansion, what did you buy?"
"I was worried because you were carrying a lot of secure cases."
I'm glad it wasn't stored in subspace.
I had just brought it in with Mina, so if it hadn't been in the room, people would have wondered where I had hidden it.
"It's magic stone crafting. I mainly bought a lamp."
"lamp?"
"Yeah, I wanted to sleep while looking at the beautiful light."
"When I hear the reason why, it sounds like you, Al."
When I explained the reason why I bought it, Nord-tousan chuckled.
"Even so, you've bought quite a lot..."
With five cases, it's not surprising to think that he went on a shopping spree.
"It's a souvenir for everyone. There's enough for both of us."
"Oh, what is it?"
"Can I see it?"
It's a bit embarrassing to give a souvenir to my parents, but I can't say no when their eyes light up like this. Nord-tousan in particular seems to be very happy about the souvenir from his son, as he looks incredibly happy.
Entrusted with expectant gazes, I opened the case and took out the S-shaped lamp.
"That's a beautiful lamp."
"Right?"
A pair of S-shaped lamps are placed on a table. The two asymmetrical lamps are transparent and beautiful even when not lit.
While Nord-tousan exclaimed in admiration, Elna-kaaman stared at the lamp with a serious expression.
"...This beautiful magic stone processing technique and sophisticated design... Could it be a lamp from Oken Magic Stone Crafts?"
"That's probably it."
I didn't see the store sign, but the owner was Oken so I'm sure it was the right name.
"That place is an introduction-only shop, so even nobles shouldn't be allowed in."
"I was able to enter because Ra-chan introduced me."
"I see."
Elna-kaasan nodded as if her doubts had been answered.
He acts calm, but I think he's a little jealous.
Since it's an introduction-based system, I'm not sure if I can take the two of them right away, but if I have some spare time while I'm in the royal capital, I'll ask if it's okay to take them along.
"I want to see the light."
"Yeah, I'll put it on."
In response to Elna-kaasan's request, I turned off the magical tools that were lighting the room and poured magic into the two lamps on the table.
Then, two faint lights lit up the darkened room.
"Well, it's beautiful."
"Yeah, really..."
Looking at the transparent green and blue glow of the magic stone, the two of them sighed and murmured.
The sparkling light has a fantastic beauty, like that of a jewel.
"Hey, Al. Why did you buy this for us?"
After gazing at the light for a while, Elna's mother asked me quietly.
If I suddenly bought you such a beautiful lamp, you would probably find it strange.
I knew it wasn't my style to bring back souvenirs like that, so I was sure they would ask me.
"...Maybe it's because I thought it was a perfect fit for the two of us."
"Ufufu, I see...Thank you, I'm happy."
"Thanks, Al."
When I answered that, Elna-kaasan and Nord-tousan came over and stroked my head.
"It's just a souvenir."
"But I'm glad you thought of us."
Why is it so embarrassing to buy souvenirs?
But if they're happy with it, then it was worth buying.
