Girls' Dialogue
It happened about ten days or so ago. After the battle against the ?Android Chameleon?, we were on the sinking cruise ship, in the deserted casino.
"I apologize for keeping you waiting."
I spoke to a girl’s back, and her shoulders jolted.
"…You?"
The black-haired girl with the red ribbon tied to the side turned to look at my face.
She, seated on the floor, had a man in a jacket sleeping on her lap.
"It has been a while?Master Siesta"
Due to a certain reason, she had a different appearance, but that really was the Master who created me.
"Anyway, what were you intending to do?"
"…What?"
Master Siesta turned her head away from me.
"I assume you had your face close to the man."
"……I don’t understand what you’re talking about."
"Nagisa will be angry."
"! I-I said I don’t know what you’re talking about…"
My Master is very cute and adorable.
"…But it’s strange, I suppose. I’m right before my eyes."
Master Siesta then put that boy onto the floor, stood up, and looked at me, saying so.
Yes, there was nothing to hide. At this moment, I resembled the original Master Siesta. I was a robotic replica built based on Master Siesta’s body.
"That maid uniform really suits you. Assistant will be delighted."
"? I am not hoping for this at all. Is this actually your wish, Master Siesta?"
"Now then, the reason why you are here today."
Yes, my Master is so cute after all.
"There is also something else to be done, aside by the prior plan."
Master Siesta then told me the reason why I was called here.
It was a program Master Siesta left behind before she died. The plan was to implant some of her memories and abilities into me, and also to raise four people to carry on her legacy.
"This is the part of the plan that is to be changed."
Master Siesta then handed me an IC chip.
"It contains the data of a mistake I once made."
"…?It’s rare to see you make a mistake, Master Siesta."
"…Yes, apparently I’m not adept at reading people’s emotions."
Master Siesta said with a wry smile.
"Anyway, do install the details and affirm accordingly. There are new instructions in it."
"Understood."
It was Master Siesta’s style to not say anything herself. I shall affirm so later.
"Now then, I guess my work is really done."
Master Siesta murmured with a somewhat relieved face, crouched down, and looked at the sleeping face of that boy.
Yes, this was Master Siesta’s last job. The one lingering regret she had was to watch over and nurture the legacy of the four. She left the program to me, and this time, she would surely fall asleep.
I looked at her, who gave a peaceful look after she did that?
"Master Siesta, you said earlier that you do not understand human emotions, but do you understand your own emotions?"
I found myself asking such a question.
Master Siesta's shoulders twitched again as she stared at the boy.
"…You."
But Master Siesta.
"Just do…your own job."
Her head remained lowered, her back turned on me as she said so.
"Understood."
I was just a maid assisting her Master.
I bowed, and turned to leave.
But at that moment, a thought crossed my mind.
If it is the duty of a maid to make her master happy, then what shall I really do from now on?
