Could it really be that much of a coincidence?

That was the only thing that I could think when I felt the resonance that was coming from deeper in this cave.

After all, this was a completely random place that I had stumbled upon after being defeated by an Apostle of Destruction.

For there to be a place that had the exact same kind of divine energy that was inside of me in this place, it really seemed like it was just too much of a coincidence.

One might even say that something like this could be considered deliberate.

As if someone had planned for me to enter this place.

But thinking about it, it would mean that the God of Destruction would be working with that person. With the relationship between the God of Destruction and the rest of the gods, it seemed very unlikely that they would ever cooperate with any of the gods.

"Then this really is nothing more than a coincidence?" I couldn’t help muttering to myself as I stared forward into the darkness.

After a long moment of silence and hesitation, I started moving forward again.

While I didn’t know why this was here, it wasn’t as if this was a bad thing. Especially since there was one of the Four Omens outside that wanted to kill me and take over this Mofu Mofu Kingdom for the God of Destruction.

The fight from before had shown the difference in power between us.

The only thing that had worked on the Apostle of Destruction was the divine energy that was inside of me. So for me to actually do something against that Apostle of Destruction, it meant that I had to strengthen that divine energy.

And the only way to do that...

"This might be some kind of elaborate scheme, but I really don’t have a choice now..."

So I continued pushing deeper into the cave.

Only as I walked through the cave, it really didn’t seem like there was anything here.

There was nothing but the same cave structure...which I started to get suspicious of.

"It’s almost as if the same cave has been repeating again and again. Was this something that someone made?"

Others might not have noticed this since they wouldn’t be paying that much attention to the design of the cave itself, but I had been looking at the cave for even the most minute detail.

It was only because of that that I was able to see that there was a repeating scene in front of me.

Only that didn’t really matter.

The only thing that mattered was...

"When will this cave come to an end?" I couldn’t help muttering to myself as I continued pushing forward.

Since I saw that there was this sign that there was something strange about this place, it was only natural that I would want to see the end of it. I wanted to see just what it was that was drawing me in.

The change that came was a sudden one.

"Why is it suddenly so advanced?" I couldn’t help stopping when I saw the change in scenery in front of me. Instead of the cave wall that was made of dirt and stone, it was a wall that was made of metal.

It went from a cave to a corridor that seemed like it was out of some kind of secret base.

This was a corridor that seemed like it was just too advanced for something that should have been in a fantasy world like this.

But even if I had my doubts, it wasn’t as if there was anything that I could do about this.

The only path that was available to me was the path that was in front of me.

"Click!"

I couldn’t help taking a step back when I heard this sound, but then I had to bring my hand up to my face.

All of a sudden, the corridor in front of me lit up and it was so bright that I had no choice but to cover my eyes. Or it was better to say that my eyes had just adjusted to the dim light that the torch provided and wasn’t used to the brightness of these actual lights.

But after a while, I was able to adjust to the lights that lit up the hall and could see properly.

This place really was like the corridor in some kind of modern research facility, it even had these lights on the ceiling that could light up the whole place.

However, that made me curious about one thing....

"Where is the power for these lights even coming from? Is there some kind of power plant in this fantasy world? This really doesn’t fit the tone of this world at all..."

Though there was another part of me that couldn’t help admitting, "These lights certainly do help me. With them, I can go faster now and find what I’m looking for."

Since these lights were here, there was no time to hesitate as I started running down the corridor.

But it didn’t take long for me to arrive in a place that completely shocked me.

It was an entirely different place from what was above the ground.

It was an underground city, but it was also a city that was built in a completely different style from the rest of the world. This was a modern city that could have been found all over the place in my past life.

No, when I looked closely, I couldn’t help thinking that some parts of this city were even more advanced than a normal city in my past life.

This was the kind of technology that didn’t exist on Earth.

"Aliens? Could it be that aliens were the ones that created this world?"

But then there was the whole thing with gods...

Wouldn’t aliens be created by the gods as well since they should have created the universe?

The more that I thought about it, the more I couldn’t help feeling confused.

It really gave me a headache seeing this city.
