With the speed of the wyverns, it didn't take long to arrive at the ruins where the Relic of Destruction was being held.

These were the same kind of ruins that one would find in any other place.

It was a stone structure that was sticking out of the ground, but looking closely one could see that there were traces of corruption energy coming from the ruins.

As such, I tapped Joan on the head and she knew exactly what I meant by this.

The same thing happened where the Mark of God appeared on her forehead and then she released the same flames as before.

These flames quickly fell onto the ruins and soon purified all the remaining traces of corruption energy that were coming out of those ruins. They didn't last a single second under the power of Joan's flames.

Then again, the traces of corruption energy that was here in the first place were residual traces of corruption energy that came from the wave earlier.

It wasn't as if the corruption energy that was here was that powerful.

But it did show that there was corruption energy that was coming from inside of the ruins.

That meant that…

"Did something happen to the Relic of Destruction?" The two popes asked me with serious looks on their faces.

There was no need to ask this since all of us had already figured that something happened with the Relic of Destruction. The only reason that they were asking me in the first place was because of my connection to the gods.

What they wanted to see was if I had heard something special about this situation from the gods.

But it wasn't as if the gods were that free in the first place.

And then again, the gods didn't seem willing to give me that much information since they were restrained by something. So it wasn't as if they were just going to contact me at any moment to tell me about the Relic of Destruction.

"I don't know." I said with a shake of my head.

The popes both knitted their brows when they heard this before quickly giving orders to the holy knights and priests that came with us.

The holy knights and priests that received these orders didn't hesitate at all to come to the front. They immediately took their place at the front of our formation, as if they were planning on dealing with anything that came at us.

This was actually for the best since even though Klein and the other royal guards came with me, it wasn't as if they would actually be able to do anything to the corruption energy if it appeared.

At the same time, these ruins didn't seem big enough for the wyverns to enter, so their overall power would even be decreased even more since they wouldn't have the wyverns to rely on.

These ruins really didn't seem like a good place for Klein and the other royal guards to enter, but it seemed that they were determined to enter. It seemed that they were willing to give their lives up to save me…

Of course, I didn't want them to do something like that.

So I talked to them and had them accept staying near me instead of going in the vanguard.

The other thing that I had to do was give Joan instructions.

Since Joan couldn't follow us because she was too big, I wanted to leave another task to her.

"Fire your flames every few minutes."

Everyone couldn't help revealing a trace of fear in their eyes when they heard this. After all, even though they had seen that Joan's flames didn't have any effect on things other than the corruption energy, it wasn't as if it was that easy to walk into these flames.

The human mind was conditioned to understand that flames were hot and it would hurt to be burnt by them.

So by nature, humans avoided flames when they could.

So now that they were being told to walk into the flames, it was hard for them to accept.

But the only way to demonstrate this was to show them with action.

"Shoot your flames on me first."

Joan didn't hesitate to make the Mark of God appear on her forehead and gathered the light in her mouth. In no time at all, she released the flames from before and this time she bathed me in these flames.

Everyone looked at me with apprehensive looks, but I wasn't worried at all when these flames fell onto me.

I even spread my arm out as if I wanted to make sure these flames hit as much of me as possible.

When the flames disappeared, I was just standing there without a single thing off about me.

Though everyone still looked at me with strange looks.

In the end, they recognized that Joan's flames shouldn't hurt them, but it was still hard for them to accept walking into flames that easily.

I didn't care about that as I said to the popes, "Shall we go?"

At this, they snapped back to attention and nodded in agreement before giving orders to the holy knights and priests. Once they received their orders, they also stopped worrying about this and focused on the entrance of the ruins.

Though before entering, I thought of one more thing.

I had Joan go up to the entrance of the ruins and then gather her flames once more.

A single breath was shot into the ruins themselves, though we couldn't really see where the flames were going. All we could see was that they were being sent right into the ruins and seemed to be going down into the depths of the ruins.

It was unknown how far it was going, but at least it cleared out what was behind the entrance for us.

There was no telling what was there, but these flames that could purify corruption energy would certainly get rid of anything that was waiting for us.

This would allow us to enter the ruins safely.
