Under that cloak…was another cloak.
Only this one wasn’t as wide as the last one, this one seemed to tightly wrap around the body of the one wearing this cloak.
Though it was tightly wrapped, it didn’t actually show the figure of the one wearing this cloak.
The other thing that could be seen was that there were a pair of gauntlets that were holding the reins in front of them.
It wasn’t a bird that this cloaked figure was riding on, but rather a horse.
This was a pitch black horse that was even wearing pitch black horse armour.
Seeing the figure of this thing, I couldn’t help revealing a strange look that also had a trace of recognition in my eyes. After all, this thing did look familiar…only it wasn’t something that should have been in this game.
"Is this copyright infringement?" That was the only thing that passed through my mind when I saw this thing.
Though after thinking about it, I even started wondering if copyright infringement applied here since this was a completely different world.
But then again, this was a world that was based on a game in the first place, so did that mean that this thing existed somewhere in the game? It just wasn’t known because no one had found this thing before?
The more that I thought about it, the more it felt like I was being pulled into some kind of hole.
In the end, I was pulled out of that hole by…the cloaked figure.
Everyone had remained vigilant after seeing the corruption energy barrier that the cloaked figure created around itself. With that gap, the cloaked figure was able to raise its hand and point at Klein before turning its hand to point at Chris and Leon as well.
"You dare attack the Apostle of Destruction? For this crime, you shall suffer the pain of ten thousand deaths!"
"Apostle of Destruction?" All of us couldn’t help repeating in a confused voice.
Only it didn’t seem like this cloaked figure was planning on saying anything else.
All it did was pull out what seemed to be a dagger and a long sword, as if it was preparing for a fight. Though to fight with these weapons against holy magic and wyvern flames…it didn’t really seem like it would work.
Well, the corruption energy of the cloak around it would keep the wyvern flames away, but it wouldn’t stop the holy magic.
All that was required was to destroy the barrier first.
Since it seemed like this cloaked figure wanted a fight, the others that had been caught off guard came back to their senses and prepared for a fight.
The first thing that they had to do was destroy the barrier that was protecting the cloaked figure.
I knew that too, so I suddenly shot out several large chunks of ice as the cloaked figure.
These blocks of ice were different from the holy magic that they released, these chunks of ice were made of divine energy after all. The barrier just wasn’t able to stand the power of these chunks of ice as it shattered to pieces.
At the same time, the cloaked figure also seemed to recognize the danger from these chunks of ice, so it immediately moved out of the way.
Unlike the holy magic that it tanked, it didn’t seem to dare to tank these chunks of ice.
After that, the cloaked figure looked at me.
I couldn’t exactly tell what it was thinking since I couldn’t see its face, but the way that it looked at me was as if it was wary of me. It was as if it recognized that I posed a threat to it, so it started to pay attention to me.
The rest of my group wasn’t idle during this time as they released the wyvern breaths and the holy magic at the cloaked figure.
It was just that the cloak of corruption energy that this cloaked figure was wearing seemed to absorb everything. Even the holy magic didn’t seem to be doing anything to it.
Or rather it didn’t seem to be doing enough.
The corruption energy was turning into smoke when it made contact with the holy magic, showing that there was some kind of effect.
It just wasn’t enough to actually bother it.
After staring at me for a bit, the cloaked figure suddenly raised the dagger that it was holding and made a sound that seemed to be a scream.
The moment that this scream rang out, the other wyverns around us trembled before it seemed like they couldn’t stop themselves from shaking. The way that they shook, it was almost as if they were afraid of something.
It was clear that it was related to this cloaked figure, but it was hard to believe that it was able to release a kind of pressure that would actually make the wyverns afraid.
The wyverns were S Rank Monsters after all, they were not monsters that one could instill fear into that easily. For the cloaked figure to do something like this, it really showed that it had some capability.
At the same time, I couldn’t help remembering something about the thing that this cloaked figure resembled from my past life.
If I remember correctly, that thing also seemed to have the ability to instill fear into others just with their presence alone…
Was it really a case of copyright infringement here?
Only there really wasn’t the time to think about that.
After giving that scream, the cloaked figure lowered the hand that was holding the dagger and gave the reins a whip. That made the horse that it was riding to charge forward and it was clear that its target was me.
The holy knights and priest all used their holy magic in an attempt to stop the cloaked figure, but it was just no use as all of their attacks were absorbed by it.
So I raised my hand for them to stop before having Joan charge forward.
