After discussing everything, it was set that we would head out as soon as possible.

Corruption energy was best handled as soon as possible or else it would become stronger and stronger until it was hard to deal with.

That was the case with our kingdom.

If I had been here, we could have easily dealt with the spreading corruption before it reached the point where it had spread that far. So it was best to deal with the corruption energy that appeared in the various kingdoms as soon as possible.

It was just that before leaving, there was something that I needed to look at.

When I arrived at Puffer's lab, I found that it was filled with mist.

I couldn't help shaking my head and giving a sigh when I saw this.

It wasn't hard to figure out what happened here based on the clues that were around me.

It was clear that Puffer had opened up the sealed seed of corruption and that caused it to suddenly release its corruption energy. After all, the only thing that kept the seed of corruption suppressed was the earth seal around it.

If it was cracked like that, it was only natural that the seed of corruption would try to break free of its captivity. At the same time, it would release all of the corruption energy that had been suppressed during the time that it had been sealed.

If it wasn't for the fact that Ariel had gone with Puffer…

Well, it would have been very likely that another disaster would have happened where the corruption energy would be spreading again.

The mist that was here was actually purifying the corruption energy that the seed of corruption was releasing, preventing it from spreading like before.

This mist was created with a relic that was on the same level as the Staff of Earth that created the earth seal.

Even if it was a bit more diluted because it was spread out, that didn't mean that the mist was weak by any terms.

This mist was more than enough to seal the seed of corruption.

Putting aside the things that Puffer did, I went forward and asked, "So, how is it? Did you find anything interesting about it?"

Ariel looked at me with an awkward look when she heard this, almost like a child that had been caught doing something wrong. But I just shook my head and looked at her with a smile when she did this.

After all, I knew that it wasn't her fault.

If it wasn't for her, then the corruption energy would have exploded and it would have caused a second disaster.

So naturally I wasn't angry with her.

But before getting angry with the person that was actually responsible for causing this mess, I wanted to see what she had to say for herself. Or rather, I wanted to see just what she had found about the seed of corruption.

The only good thing about Puffer was her ability.

If it wasn't for that, I certainly would have sent her back under the sea even if she had taken the role of teaching Ariel sea witch magic.

She definitely was more trouble than she was worth…if she didn't have her abilities.

Puffer didn't seem to hear me at first, so I was about to repeat what I said. But before I could, she suddenly said, "It's a seed."

A strange look appeared on my face when I heard this.

This wasn't really any new information since anyone could tell that it was a seed based on the appearance that it had. The only thing was that this was a dangerous seed that released corruption energy.

It wasn't something that could be looked down on.

I didn't say anything as I waited for her to say something else, but it didn't seem like Puffer was going to say anything with the way that she just stood there. It really seemed like she was lost in her own little world.

My face turned dark when I saw this, so I opened my mouth to say something.

But once again, she cut me off before I could say anything.

"We should plant it."

This time, I didn't have the same reaction as before. A very strange look appeared on my face as I looked at Puffer.

For once, I just couldn't keep up with the ideas that she had.

For once, I even thought that she was being crazy.

This was a dangerous seed that was releasing corruption energy without stopping. Putting aside the question of whether it could even be planted in the first place, if it was actually planted into the ground and allowed to grow, there was no telling what it would become.

It would be a dangerous thing that might even be able to destroy the kingdom.

This time, I just couldn't go along with what Puffer wanted to do.

"No." I said in a firm voice.

For the first time, Puffer turned around since I had arrived, almost as if she was just noticing that I was here. The way that she looked at me was as if she was going to complain about how I was denying her this chance to study this seed of corruption.

But that look soon disappeared from her face when she saw the serious look that I had.

This time, I wouldn't budge on my decision.

I knew that if I were to budge here, it would mean putting the kingdom in danger.

So that was not something that I could do as the king of this kingdom.

At the very least, I couldn't put the people of my kingdom in danger.

Since I wasn't going to let her plant it, Puffer just said that she would do what she could in finding anything about this seed of corruption.

There was a part of me that wanted to take this seed of corruption away from her, but she was the best person to research it.

So all I could do was have Ariel keep an eye on her.

She was the only one that could stop Puffer.
