Chapter 8

Accepting the Revealed Truth

“…Mm”

Naruse Mio is wrapped in warmth, feeling sleepy, and just as she lets out a pleased sigh, her eyes open slightly.

Despite the darkness of the room, Mio is used to the dark from her sleep… She is still able to see the face of the person next to her who’s still asleep.

It’s Toujou Basara.

Mio right now is right by his side on the bed, using his right shoulder as a pillow as she holds on to him.

And then as she can feel the sheets around her on her skin –she knows that she’s wearing nothing but a single pair of panties.

And then, with Basara naked as well next to her,

…That’s right, Basara and I…

She still feels a sweet fever deep in her body, and on the other side of Basara is Kurumi, asleep, furthermore, behind Mio is maria, and on the other side of Kurumi, Yuki is sleeping. And there’s one more person.

“Zest–” 

Mio lets slip the name of the beautiful demon. Her skin is tan, going down to the thighs that are put close together, and she has Basara on her lap asleep. Right there, Mio meets her eyes.

With that, Zest who’s stroking Basara’s hair gently, looks at Mio with a kind, small smile,

“…Could it be, you can’t sleep?”

At Mio’s quiet question so as to not wake the others up, and at that, Zest shakes her head slightly,

“No, I managed to rest for a bit. However, I don’t need much sleep”

She says in a whisper, just like Mio.

And then,

“—Are you able to calm down?”

At Zest who asked her with concern,

“…Yeah, I’m fine”

As she answers, Mio thinks of the situation she was in.

Right now, they have fought against the current demon lord and the demon god Chaos, safely returning to the moderate faction’s headquarters of Wildart castle.

And then,

“…Sorry for causing a panic earlier”

That’s right –Mio earlier was in a messed-up state.

That is because of the truth from Basara’s lips when Basara showed great power when fighting the current demon lord Leohart and demon god Chaos.

–The truth is that Basara’s mother is the little sister of Mio’s father, the previous demon lord Wilbert.

When Mio found out she wasn’t a normal human but the daughter of the previous demon lord, Mio was shocked.

Even so, Basara and the others are here with her now.

With that kindness, Mio has accepted that she isn’t the same as Basara, Yuki, and Kurumi, and that her origins are in the demon realm.

Because of that, knowing that Basara has demon blood in him –and furthermore, the truth that he’s her cousin is more than enough to make Mio sway.

—It would be a lie if she’s to say she’s unhappy with Basara being someone close to her.

However, looking at it from Basara who was born into the hero clan, this might not be something to rejoice at.

With how it’s clear now that Basara has demon blood, it sways Yuki and Kurumi, causing the emotional Kurumi to cry.

And then seeing Kurumi, Mio too found herself crying even if she isn’t sure why —Basara comforted them in bed.

As Basara kissed them, Yuki, Maria, and Zest took off their clothes, and they were caressed in their weak parts, kindly taking away their anxiety and pain –as such, Mio and Kurumi became sure of one thing.

–That Basara having demon blood in him changes nothing.

Basara is in front of them, everyone is with them –believing in that is enough.

That’s why Mio is calm now. Surely, it is the same for Kurumi.

And then, at her,

“If that’s the case, that’s good…”

Zest says with a kind smile.

“There is still time until dawn… How about enjoying Basara-sama a little more?”

“…Yeah, I'll do that”

With those words, Mio smiles back, she clings on to Basara and closes her eyes. She can feel the warmth from Basara’s toned body, telling her of his definite existence for her.
