A dazzling smile appeared on Priscilla's face. Liliana's song also reached her ears. The artist, who had been given a burning tower instead of a stage, was just moving to the climax of her performance.
- So my prediction turned out to be accurate!
Priscilla used Yang Sword magic to allow Liliana to climb to the top of the burning structure. Unfortunately, she had no control over the temperature, which, judging by the red-hot walls of the tower, must have been hellishly difficult to bear. She could only hope that the Songstress would not fry and jump, seeing solace in death.
Now she knew that Liliana was up to the task. She reached the top and began to sing, putting her whole soul into the words of the song, She hid her suffering perfectly, and in such a way that there was not a hint of falseness in her voice, The girl was certainly in torment, but her song was stronger than the pain.
How stupid! Idiotic! Completely ridiculous! But as it turns out, extreme cretinism combined with talent can spawn something that defies the laws of logic.
- If stupidity had wings, this little one would fly like a dove," Priscilla began, as if explaining the matter to Sirius. - I've always thought that an idiot is not the same as an idiot. There are different kinds of fools, many of them not worth a pound of flesh. But she belongs to the kind that amuses me. And now she proved that she can do a little bit more. She deserves praise...
She probably would have kept talking if she hadn't been interrupted by a fiery snake formed by burning chains. Sirius had had enough of the talking and attacked. Of course, this didn't please the aristocrat, who didn't like being interrupted. She neatly deflected the attack.
- You guys are so annoying! - shouted Sirius in a breaking voice. She shifted her gaze to Liliana. - Both of them! What is she doing! What is she singing! Our methods are different, but she and I, we both want the same thing! This shows that understanding is possible!
No wonder the Archbishop was boiling with anger. She couldn't use her Authority again, because then all the soulwashed citizens would hear Liliana's song. The songstress had neutralized her power. That was the best proof of how powerful her gift was.
From the faces of the people crowded behind the canals slowly disappeared the gray
of fear that Sirius had made them shed earlier. They were tears of emotion. And the Archbishop couldn't do anything about it.
- How is this possible?! How can this be?! If only he were here! Why are you trying to stop me?! People only wish to become one with others! It's always been that way! And always will be!
- The same song is perceived differently by everyone. And everyone understands it differently You can only shout clichés about feelings, but you completely fail to understand the most important thing. Someone like you has no idea about love. That's just plain stupid! - Priscilla exclaimed with contempt. She had hit the nail on the head again.
- Shut up!
A devil seemed to have entered Sirius. She drove her fingers deep into her arms and began tugging at the bandages. Underneath the layer of blood-dirty material were more chains. When the iron moved with a clatter, Priscilla's eyes caught a glimpse of the Archbishop's tattered skin, which was flaking off. The princess furrowed her brow in disgust.
Blood oozed onto the weapon, and then Sirius raised her arms in obvious pain. The chains spun over her head, splashing with sweat that suddenly ignited with a powerful fire. A wave of unbearable heat swept the entire plaza in front of the tower. The Archbishop was using her own body to power the gigantic destructive flame.
- It's sad to look at you. Even the way you fight is pathetic. Remember that such things immediately take their toll on beauty," Priscilla said nonchalantly. She didn't care about the fire, which was bigger than anything Sirius had presented so far.
- Unbridled, moving... anger! - screamed the Archbishop.
Sirius' flame grew to gigantic proportions fueled by disgust and hatred and then collapsed on Priscilla, destroying everything around her, the Archbishop summoned magic capable of turning entire cities to dust just to incinerate one opponent. This was not an attack that could be avoided or stopped. How could one man face the fires of hell?
- May her will be the will of Heaven, and the Yang Sword shine! - cried the fearless Bloody Bride. With both hands, she gripped the hilt firmly and lowered the blade, standing ready for battle. She waited for the strike.
- Die!
Priscilla didn't pay attention to it at all. All she heard now was the song.
- Absorb it.
She cut through the wave of fire with the Yang Sword.
It was no ordinary blade, but a magical artifact with extraordinary power. However, even the most powerful magic sword could not handle such an attack... except in the hands of Priscilla Barielle.
The fire just disappeared. Nothing happened to its owner. Not a single red strand of her hair burned, and not a single drop of sweat appeared on her white forehead. The attack that was about to consume her alive had dissolved into thin air. Only the Yang Sword shone brighter than before. The aristocrat looked at the blade radiating light and became serious.
Sirius seized the moment when her opponent was busy with a wave of fire. She moved towards the tower, probably intending to disable Liliana. The princess immediately ran after her.
- Let there be an end to this clamor! I will not allow anyone to brazenly withhold the wrath I received from Him! - The Archbishop charged in, fixing her blood-soaked eyes on the Songstress.
The entrance to the structure was blocked by white flames. Liliana was able to pass through them because Priscilla decided so, but the fire had been ordered to burn any other intruder to ashes. Even Sirius, who herself used a similar element in battle, would have died on the spot.
He wants to die!
Stupid! Leave what belongs to me! - cried Priscilla, following her lightly as the wind.
Just a moment later, she was right behind Sirius. She swung to make a slash on the diagonal.... ...when suddenly her wrist was shackled. The chains attacked her suddenly, immobilizing her arms and legs. Startled, she looked at Sirius and saw the Archbishop ready to counterattack. Her opponent was preparing for a powerful kick. As she moved her leg, the bandages fell off her, releasing yet another chain that shot straight into Priscilla's face.
- HAAAAAAAA! - roared Sirius.
There was a crunching sound of steel being hammered into flesh. The force of the impact caused the buckle that fastened the aristocrat's hair to fall. The red curls scattered in the wind.
- Garbage... - she whispered briefly.
Sirius might have expected her opponent's head to turn into a bloody mass after such a powerful attack, but only her pride was wounded.
How is this possible!
The red eyes were hurling thunderbolts. There was still not a single scratch on the beautiful face.
Unfortunately, the Archbishop used that time to run to the tower incredibly fast. Priscilla did not have time to stop her. The structure was struck from the side by a powerful fire serpent. The walls cracked with a loud bang and the entire structure with Liliana on top leaned towards the flames in the canal. It was clear that it was about to collapse.
- Die, burn, false songstress! - wailed Sirius.
Priscilla tried to make out the minstrel's silhouette on the leaning tower, but though the song continued to echo, its performer was nowhere to be seen.
She continues to sing. The earth flees from under her feet, and she Sings, making her listeners slaves to her voice. She has not abandoned her task,
- Exceptional Attitude...
We cannot allow the song to be interrupted! These simpletons will immediately return under the action of Wrath!
Priscilla moved towards Sirius who was standing under the leaning tower. She ran with the Yang Sword in her hand. The white-haired woman only smiled out of the corner of her mouth.
- People incapable of deep feelings adhere to a philosophy of selfishness! Not being able to activate empathy, they put themselves on a pedestal! They are proud of their own shortcomings! It makes me laugh out loud! After all, all they want is to connect with others, to dissolve in a community!
- A simpleton," Priscilla growled.
The Archbishop jumped, and the chains from above fell on her opponent like rain. Flame followed them. The Bloody Bride found herself in the middle of a firestorm that nearly toppled her. However, she had come here for victory. She moved through the embers with unwavering determination in her eyes. She had no intention of relenting. Sirius' eyes, on the other hand, blazed with a terrible anger that drowned out all sounds from outside. Nothing was getting through to the Archbishop anymore. Both of them were immensely stubborn and convinced of their reasons.
The tower began to disintegrate. Glowing debris fell into the canal with a bang. The square turned into an inferno full of clouds of black smoke, dust and flames.
In between all this, Priscilla spotted the inhabitants of Priestella. They were running away with screams and tears in their eyes... but even in this situation, they were not tears of fear. They were still crying moved by the song.
- Love is a union! - shouted Sirius.
She sent the chains to attack Priscilla from four sides at once, but she beat them down without even glancing in their direction.
- No. Love is the acceptance of differences. Everyone is different. The idea that everyone should feel the same is abhorrent.
Priscilla moved at Sirius again. She immediately neutralized the wave of fire that was thrown against her with the Yang Sword, which absorbed the heat, and then broke each of her opponent's chains in turn. Then, a powerful rumble sounded, drowning out the sounds of their struggle. More pieces of the tower collapsed into the canal.
At that exact moment, Priscilla finally reached Sirius.
She swung.
- It's over.
- What makes you so sure!
The space in front of Sirius curved strangely and opened up. The Archbishop reached her hand into the depths and dragged a chained girl out of there. The child may have been ten years old, no more. Through her steel-gagged mouth she tried to cry out for help.
- MMMMM!
Priscilla immediately guessed she was looking at Tina, whom Sirius had kidnapped and imprisoned all this time.
- Perhaps compassion for this girl will touch your heart? - said the Archbishop sweetly and embraced her hostage, draping herself over her body.
Priscilla didn't care about the fate of this child. She had come here to defeat Wrath, and she had no intention of bothering herself with trifles. The presence of the snotty girl changed nothing for her. Just as she had intended, she finished her cut with the Yang Sword. The blade, radiating with light, cut through the Archbishop of Wrath and the girl she was trying to shield.
- — O... oh dear? - snapped out a surprised Sirius.
Fragments of chain fell onto the stone slabs of the square with a loud clang.
- The flame of My sword consumes what I point it at, Its blade cuts what I will it to," Priscilla announced.
She had no intention of thinking about trivialities. If someone bothered her, she was willing to do anything just to get rid of them. What she didn't care about, she ignored. She ordered the Yang Sword to skip Tina.
Confused, the girl fell to her knees. She raised her dirty face and looked in amazement at the blade that barely touched her. The Yang Sword easily severed her chains, leaving her untouched.
Suddenly, fresh blood gushed onto her back.
Sirius noticed it too. Surprised, she glanced down and shook her head in disbelief. She shifted her gaze to Priscilla.
- Do you feel... this pain? - She asked, tilting her head.
- Why should I feel your pain? I already told you. I don't give a damn about your bullshit. Unity? That's ridiculous. You'll die alone, believing in your fantasies until the last moment.
She swung to behead her. Sirius' body rolled over the stone slabs with a rustle and fell into the canal.
A glance was enough for Priscilla to make sure that her opponent had disappeared into the abyss. Then she looked at the hilt of her sword, which was beginning to darken.
- The sun's rays ran out, the dial hid behind the clouds. It was close... - she whispered.
Then the tower collapsed completely, turning into a huge pile of rubble. There was no sign of Liliana. It was hard to even tell where the roof was now.
The song was no longer audible.
- I'm... sorry... - choked out a child's voice.
Tina looked like she still couldn't believe she had regained her freedom. When Priscilla looked at her, she trembled, and tears flowed from her eyes. The aristocrat sighed.
She could now lay down her weapons. She raised her sword up, and the weapon disappeared into the sky. At that moment, the white flames that had consumed the canals were extinguished. Several people immediately ran up to the mountain of rubble to find the Songstress.
What a tumult! All night long there was nothing but noise and clamor. Well, at least the show was interesting, because everything else... ...crap. Pfff, what a disappointment! - muttered Priscilla as always in a bored voice, although she was actually still very excited. She turned away from the snarling girl to look at the debris-filled canal. - It wasn't too bad. You deserve praise," she whispered.
