Trixie and Kim along with the rest of the Altered hunters did their best to ignore what had happened to them, and they were set to take out the Werewolves that would be remaining in the Garden.
They had taken the trucks to the underground carpark that seemed to be relatively clear. Right after that, they didn't waste time opening the crates and taking what equipment they believed was useful for them to use.
The equipment was meant to be supplied to the current Altered members, but Trixie had a bad feeling with everything going on, she wasn't so sure there were so many Altered hunters left in the city.
So she took what they could and left the rest in the trucks behind. They could always come back for it when they were finished doing what they had to do.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Trixie asked, looking at the banged-up arm of Kim's. "That arrow, it looked like it went right through your arm. If you can't hold a weapon properly, then it might be good for you to stay behind."
Looking at all of the weapons in the crate, Kim just picked up one of the swords and then swung it through the air. "I'm just fine, you don't have to worry about me," Kim said. "Focus on protecting the rest of the group. You should have trusted me from the beginning about that guy."
"Are you trying to blame me?" Trixie said as the rest of the group were now looking for the staircase that would lead them above. They didn't take the most obvious routes, there was an elevator and a large staircase with signs.
They were looking for emergency exits, areas that staff or cleaners would use, to have a higher chance of getting the jump on the enemy.
"That apprentice was part of those that you and Blackjack brought in. Don't you think you should have done more research into where they had come from?" Trixie asked.
"Not me," Kim replied. "Blackjack's apprentices."
Kim was almost sure to make that distinction, as the group found a small staircase that led to above ground. Following it they found themselves reaching a storage room of some kind with cleaning supplies.
"Alright everyone, be ready, we attack on sight, and we stay close together," Trixie said as she forcefully broke the lock on the door and all of them could see the large Garden in sight.
This Garden was a little different compared to the others around the city. There were a lot more water features spread around. Large wooden walkways that would go over what looked like lakes with lotus flowers and more.
Because of that the temperature was incredibly humid as well. It shouldn't have been enough to disturb their masks though, so they should still be able to spot the Altered's through the thickery of the trees.
The group were still cautious as they ventured around the place, seeing next to no one. Coming across a large bridge that went over from one section of the garden to the other, they had decided to cross it.
All of them felt uneasy. As they were crossing the bridge, the first one to notice something, was Kim. She turned her head and looked at the water, and could see wet fur approaching out.
She then held her sword and hurled it through the air. She had done so with such force that part of the water appeared as if it was splitting in two and landed straight in the Werewolf's head killing it on the spot.
"They're in the water!" Trixie said. "Everyone prepare yourselves!"
Several Werewolves then, knowing that the trick was up, had hurled out of the water. They were in the air from all different directions and were jumping straight at the group.
The Altered hunters attempted to use their range weapons to hit them out of the sky. Some had hit but did next to nothing as the forces still hurled themselves forward. Others were even able to avoid the strike as they landed.
The moment, the large amount of Werewolves landed on the bridge, they ran straight to the Altered hunters.
At the perfect time, Trixie launched her hand forward and the baton extended out forceful like a needle. The tip pierced right through the other's head killing it in one blow. In her hands she had one of the strongest of Altered hunter weapons.
The others were in trouble on the other end, but Kim was there to help. She came charging ahead and kicked a Werewolf in the stomach, causing it to slide across the floor.
As another came up to her, she avoided an attack, and grabbed it by the head, and shoved it right into the ground. The flooring had broken and the Werewolf was pushed and sunk into the water.
"I never knew how strong Kim was, without a weapon I thought we were in trouble but she's doing just fine."
From the corner of her eye, with Trixie always being nervous about the rest of the group, she was seeing what Kim was able to do. The feats she accomplished with her bare hands.
'I don't think that's the power of the equipment on her. I don't even know if she's wearing any equipment. If you were suspicious of Kai from before, because of the feats he was able to pull off, then what about your own?' Trixie thought.
Thinking back to the attack on her arm, the power she was using now, that could match these Large Altereds, but it wasn't the time for questioning as the group were faced dealing with both of them.
"Hahah! I never thought I would see this!" A large booming voice said from the end.
A Werewolf that was visibly larger in figure compared to the others, with Dark Black fur was walking over, and on its back a large round shield could be seen. Seeing the equipment that was there, Trixie knew who it was.
"One of the Ironfang's," Trixie claimed.
"I'm glad I ran into one of you here, it's been a long time since I've killed one of your kind," the Ironfang said, but he wasn't looking at Trixie or any of the Altered hunters—it was looking straight at Kim.
