"Is this magic usable in the real world?" The Ancient One asked Wong curiously as she looked at the magic he was demonstrating for her in Minecraft.
Wong was a little embarrassed hearing her question, but he was still quite excited.
"So far we haven't been able to make an application of this in the real world, but considering the concepts of magic in this game, and the way that Notch used earth manipulation in those videos that appeared, I believe that this really is possible, so much so that I have already started to try to develop a way to experience this, but it's not really set in stone yet, as our knowledge of this magic is still very slim considering the amount of things we haven't figured out yet." Wong respectfully explained. "Of course, that's why I decided to call Master here, as her knowledge of magic is much deeper than mine, maybe it will speed up our research."
Hearing that, the Ancient One raised an eyebrow with a bit of surprise. Since Mojang appeared in the world, she is getting surprised more and more often, as for some reason she couldn't see the future of this company, nor calculate what this company could cause of changes in the world for the future.
On the one hand this was quite worrying, but on the other hand she was feeling more and more interested in it.
"Besides you, how many other disciples are studying this magic?" She asked.
Wong thought for a while but soon came up with an exact number. "Currently there are 37 disciples of Kamar Taj studying this magic, including some elders who became interested after I told them about the development and the possibilities it could bring to our study."
The Ancient One nodded her head and started walking through the school of magic they had done while thinking about something.
Wong didn't interrupt her thought and just followed silently.
After a complete tour of the wizarding school, another question arose.
"I counted 72 people studying this magic, do you know anything about them?" She asked.
Wong shook his head. "Actually the total number of students is 388, but most are not online at that time. I have little information about them, since the identity of players in Minecraft is secret, I couldn't find out anything very important about most of them, just some students caught my attention." He said while opening his friends list and showing the name of some players, as well as their Minecraft character profile picture.
"These three players got me interested, two of them are apparently friends and have some very developed concepts of magic, something that's hard to believe comes from just one regular person, so I talked to them and found out that they're both fanatical RPG players , a very common style of play among young people, where they use their imagination to invent a fictional world and create stories and adventures around it. Apparently the two players control characters who are wizards in the style they call "MinMax", something who apparently studies the game as much as possible to be able to use magic most efficiently without breaking the rules." Wong patiently explained.
Hearing his explanation, Ancient One was quite surprised, with that concept they would be very promising students of Kamar Taj, probably able to become Grandmasters in a short time. "They must be people quite adored in this game called RPG." She said with a smile.
Wong nodded in agreement, not knowing how hated "MinMax" players were in the tabletop RPG community.
"And the last student? What made him interesting?" She asked curiously.
"This last student has the nickname [Strange], and he is very similar to his nickname. Since initially he had no interest in magic, always bragging about how rich he was, or things like that, but when a One of the students defeated him in a PVP duel by betting a car using magic, Strange became quite enraged and began to study magic with great dedication, demonstrating a great talent for it. Incredibly many of the group's discoveries came from him, even discovering more than some Grand Masters of Kamar Taj." Wong explained with a little embarrassment.
Hearing that player's nickname, the Ancient One's eyes visibly shrank, startling Wong into thinking he had said something wrong. When she said there was something to do urgently and disconnected, he was even more worried that he had said something bad.
But she didn't even think about it and logged out of the game without a second thought.
