Afterword
“…I’m not a good older sister.”
Thank you for picking up the eleventh volume of Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World (Last Crusade)!
Finally, Sisbell’s Illumination power shows its true abilities. Though Sisbell has been put in unfortunate circumstances again and again, such as being caught by the Hydra and taken hostage at an Imperial research institute, it just shows how feared she is by multiple people.
Through replaying the events of the past with her Illumination power, the main character becomes someone else other than Iska in this volume. Now, as for who it could be…only those who read the book can decide.
As the Lord says, things were decided a century ago.
And it is because a girl and a boy decided to give everything they had to avert this horrible fate—despite taking different paths to accomplish this—that the events of Last Crusade could come to pass.
The story is finally in its second half.
I hope you’ll continue to watch how the people of a hundred years past and present progress down their paths!
Regarding Last Crusade’s TV anime
How was the anime broadcast?
This was my first anime adaptation, so it’s been a great three months, in all aspects.
To all those who were involved in the anime and to those who watched, I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you. Thank you so much!
And it seems all three anime Blu-ray and DVDs had a wonderful reception.
I worked hard on the special short stories. For example, the “Forbidden Chapter Founder” story included in the first Blu-ray and DVD is Alice and Iska’s fight written from the Founder’s perspective. I wrote this story so it would be worthwhile after finishing this volume.
It covers the conflict in Eve, the one who becomes known as the Founder.
I hope you’ll take a peek at it.
I will, of course, continue to work hard on Last Crusade in 2021 as well!
Well then, I have one more piece of news now.
I have another new series this year that I hope you’ll enjoy reading alongside Last Crusade!
MF Bunko J Gods’ Games We Play next volume!
A fantasy battle of the wits of humanity versus the gods.
Humanity must win ten games against the gods to achieve victory. In the history of mankind, no one has yet to clear them all. In this tale, a young man takes up the impossible challenge.
The second volume is coming out May 25th (Tuesday)!
That’s actually just a week after the eleventh volume of Last Crusade comes out. If you buy both Last Crusade Volume 11 and Gods’ Games We Play Volume 2, then you can get a special short story collaboration! Please take a look at the cover band of Last Crusade Volume 11 for more information.
For those who haven’t read it yet, nothing would make me happier than if you’d take the opportunity to!
And so, the afterword has come to an end.
Ao Nekonabe, thank you so much for drawing a wonderful depiction of the Lord!
To my editors O and S, thank you for all you’ve done for the anime and the novel manuscript from day to day. I hope you’ll continue assisting me for the rest of Last Crusade!
Next is Last Crusade Volume 12.
The Empire, Sovereignty, Founder, Black Steel Gladiator, and Lord reunite with Iska and Alice in a battlefield of discordant ideals. And there, the two see…
Well then, MF Bunko J Gods’ Games We Play Volume 2 is coming out May 25th (that’s soon!).
In the fall, Last Crusade Volume 12 will be out.
I hope we’ll meet each other again then.
On a warm day in spring,
Sazane Kei
Finally, I’d like to say thank you for the fan letters.
To M, who sent me a letter last year, thank you for your impressions of Last Crusade, World Record, World Enemy, and Why Me, as well as for the bath salts, steam eye mask, and other gifts.
I didn’t see a return address for the letter, so I’m very sorry for not sending a response last year. I still use and hold dear the gifts you sent me!
