“And you’re sharing a room with me, Elder Sister~!  ”

Pecora said this very casually.

“Excuse me,” Laika interjected before I could reply. “I am afraid that at times like this, either family shares a room, or each person should have their own.”

“Well~ since there are two dragons with us, I thought it’d be nice for you to share a room. And so that’s how I arranged it!  ”

Laika was devastated. Meanwhile, it was Flatorte’s turn to argue back.

“That’s weird! I’m going to suffocate if I have to share a room with her! She’s way too fussy!”

“How rude of you, Flatorte!”

“I can’t help it if I find you suffocating! I know you’re gonna nag me nonstop—‘Don’t make a mess,’ ‘Calm down,’ ‘Stop freezing things’—on and on!”

In my opinion, that was all common sense, no matter who she was rooming with.

I patted Laika on the shoulder.

“Will you make sure Flatorte doesn’t get too wild and cause problems?”

“Oh, Lady Azusa… Of course. I know you need me to keep an eye on things, so…,” Laika agreed somewhat reluctantly.

Pecora was chuckling the whole time. I had a feeling she’d orchestrated all of this.

It’d be nice if all this nonsense with the elder god was just one of her little ploys, too.

…Though I’d be pretty mad at her if she owned up to it after all this.

When we returned to central Yostos, we found all sorts of events encouraging people to draw things like mascots or scenery. It seemed the plan to smoke out this god via art was serious.

The tablet said the elder god could change their form and appearance infinitely. Would they even look like an intelligent life-form? What would we do if they took the form of a wall? We couldn’t search for something that didn’t even resemble a living creature.

Despite my worries, Pecora and I entered our room.

“Wow, how luxurious~ As expected of a developing city.  ”

The first thing Pecora did was test how soft the bed was. She then went over to the second bed and pushed them together.

“Actually, I’d prefer we kept those where they were.”

“Aww, but it’s normal for sisters to sleep together~ It’s good manners.”

She kept calling me her elder sister, but she never listened to what I said… Then again, we were lucky we could argue over something as trivial as beds. And it was Pecora who was maintaining that carefree mood.

“Hey, Pecora, can I ask you something?”

Pecora was kicking her feet on the bed, like she was swimming.

“Yes, Elder Sister. What is it?”

“Don’t you expect any danger in this situation?”

Pecora quietly took a seat at the edge of the bed.

“Why do you think that, Elder Sister?”

Did her reaction mean I was right? It was probably too early to tell. Maybe it was just wishful thinking on my part.

“Well, we’re talking about a god who has been revived in your country, and we don’t know what it’s planning. It wouldn’t be strange if you were a little more panicked. I know you might be putting on an act, but…you seem really calm.”

Pecora was the demon king—she should be taking this situation way more seriously than I was. Even if she was trying not to worry the others, how was she so relaxed?

“You’re mostly correct, yes. I do not believe this god is all that dangerous. My proof is that—”

She had proof?!

“—if this god were capable of plunging our world into danger, then even the gods whom the demons do not believe in would jump into action. You are on friendly terms with some of them, Elder Sister, and I am confident they would have told you something. But you only heard about the situation from us~”

She puffed out her chest proudly and continued:

“I only worship the demon gods, so I do not recognize the gods from other lands as divine. But I am well aware that they exist. This business with the seal is a problem for the whole world; if the elder god were truly dangerous, then the other gods would be taking measures of their own to stop it.”

“That makes sense. I was thinking the same thing.” I nodded slightly. “I was a little worried that I hadn’t heard anything from them, but if you look at it another way, maybe they aren’t responding because it isn’t important.”

This felt like the kind of situation Godly Godness or Nintan would have alerted me to, but I still hadn’t heard from them. And besides, it was best to let gods deal with their own affairs. The demons and I shouldn’t get involved.

“Phew. That’s a weight off my shoulders,” I said.

—But then a rift appeared in the middle of the room, and a moment later, Godly Godness and Nintan stepped out.
