“The seal is definitely broken!”
I held my head in my hands.
“Why would they start digging up land that was so obviously glowing? Didn’t anyone think, Hey, this is weird, and stop?! And the ground around it has obviously been tampered with!”
The area around the spot was flat, as though it had been leveled. It appeared to be paved with something like marble. Not only that, it was literally emitting light. It was clear as day that this was a special place.
“A good majority of the demons who live here do not like the sun… I suppose they disliked this sort of light as well.” Beelzebub limply fell to her knees.
Fatla held a hand to her mouth. This was quite the shocking situation.
For everyone except Pecora, anyway.
“Oh dear. It seems the seal is broken~”
She crouched down, casually peering at the spot where the seal was, like all of this was someone else’s problem. She seemed utterly carefree.
No—maybe Pecora was simply trying to approach the situation calmly. She had to be aware of her position as demon king. She knew when to give up. And she was smart—she knew what was going on.
“There is a very high probability that this elder god has already escaped…but actually, I’m relieved.”
She smiled. It didn’t seem like she was joking around.
“What does that mean, Pecora…?” I asked.
“The seal seems to be broken, and yet nothing has happened to us demons or our territory. So either the elder god has no intention of doing anything, or it cannot act.”
I suppose that’s one way to look at it.
