Once she had looked through the physical photo album long enough, Celty turned back to her computer files.
“Seems like my archival method lately has been video more than still photos.”
Next to her photo folder was a video folder, which she was realizing had grown to a considerable size.
“Though some people say that photos bring back the memories clearer…”
“Everyone’s different that way. It’s like arguing over whether developed photos or digital photo are better.”
“I guess that’s how it works.”
“And times change. From what Dad says, when photography went from black-and-white to color, some people said that the black-and-white photos brought back the memories stronger. In the end, it’s the feelings you have toward what’s already familiar that affects your memories,” Shinra said, a rare thoughtful comment.
Celty shrugged and typed, “It’s true that times have changed.”
She opened an Internet browser on her computer, taking her to a famous video site.
“I never would have expected that a day would come where everyone in the world can share their own videos with each other.”
“It feels like a new era, doesn’t it? Lots of people were also surprised when blogging became a thing, and they realized you could share your journal with the entire world.”
Shinra gazed at the site with great feeling. Then, before Celty could stop him, he typed “headless rider ikebukuro” in the search bar.
“Hey, what are you—”
“Why, I’m checking on the videos that other people have taken of you, of course.”
“But why?!”
“Why else? Because I want to bask in the feeling of superiority and reassurance that I’m the one who captures you best on video,” he declared.
Celty pushed his shoulder. “Stop this! It’s embarrassing!”
“Oh, don’t be shy. Ooh, let’s see what the video with the most views is… Ahh, this one…”
His face darkened, which Celty did not fail to miss. She could already guess which video it was.
“Ah…that was the one when Karisawa’s group got to me…”
