EVEN SAINTS DON’T KNOW EVERYTHING

“Um, Amid…do you have a minute?”

The healer of Dian Cecht Familia tilted her head at Aiz’s question. It was past dusk, and she was in the middle of closing up shop. What could bring her here at this hour? she wondered, leading Aiz inside so that the two of them could speak privately.

Just as Amid recalled that Loki Familia was meant to go on an expedition soon, Aiz spoke up and divulged the reason for her visit.

“Could you teach me…how to do first aid?”

“‘First aid’? I’m not trying to pressure you to buy anything, but what’s wrong with using potions?”

“Um, I don’t really want to use too many potions just for training…” Aiz muttered, and Amid, understanding where the girl was coming from, beamed a gentle smile.

Amid was already nineteen, though at not even 150 celches high, she seemed much younger. She’d made a name for herself as a healer and was no stranger to the Dungeon, being Level 2. As part of a mission to clear a floor boss, she once single-handedly bolstered a faltering front line with her unique magic, earning her the alias Dea Saint.

Amid couldn’t hide the pride she felt at the fact that a younger adventurer was coming to her for help and advice.

“Um, Amid. There’s one other thing…”

“Go ahead. Whatever it is, if I can help, I shall.”

Seeing her saintly smile, Aiz steeled herself and asked.

“What’s the right way to give someone a lap pillow?”

“Erm, what?”

The sudden non sequitur threw Amid for a loop. She had given a lap pillow before, but only to a unicorn, and she wasn’t sure there was any right or wrong way to do it.

The more she looked at Aiz’s reddening face, the more her own cheeks started to blush. She wanted to throw up her hands in defeat, but when she looked into those expectant, trusting eyes, there was nothing else she could do.

She looked from side to side, sweating, then finally nodded.

“V-very well,” she said. “I shall teach you the basics. Please set your head in my lap, if you don’t mind…”

“Lord Dian Cecht, I just visited Amid’s room, and it seems she is giving a lap pillow to the Sword Princess.”

“Why are you telling me this? And why is your nose bleeding?”

The god’s follower replied with a blithe look. “See for yourself. It’s quite the sight…” he said.

A few days later, the rumors had gotten quite out of hand, and more than a few gods showed up, knocking and demanding, “Where’s the yuri?!” Unfortunately, nobody knew quite what they were talking about.
