MISBEGOTTEN UNION
Lefiya confronted Tiona when the two were alone in the Loki Familia common room.
“E-erm, Ms. Tiona! I think you’re clinging to Ms. Aiz far too much without good reason!”
“Hmm? Am I?” Tiona responded lazily from the sofa.
“Y-yes you are!” yelled Lefiya. “You’ll use almost any excuse to hug her all the time!”
It had been on Lefiya’s mind for a while now. It wasn’t like the elf girl was jealous or anything; she was just…concerned. Somebody needed to teach Tiona the proper way to behave in public…or at least that was the rationalization Lefiya used to convince herself.
“You know what they say: A hedge between keeps friendships green.”
“Yeah, but Aiz and I are best friends, so it’s okay,” Tiona replied, without overthinking it.
Lefiya gnashed her teeth and growled, unable to respond.
“If you’re so mad about it, why don’t you hug her, too?”
“Wh-where did that come from?!” Lefiya shrieked, taking several swift steps in retreat as the tips of her ears turned bright red.
Tiona nonchalantly hopped to her feet and spread her arms. “Let’s practice,” she said. “Pretend I’m Aiz and come at me with all you’ve got!”
“M-Ms. Tiona?! What are you saying?!”
Tiona simply smiled, urging Lefiya to overcome her shyness.
“Aiz is really soft and warm, you know.”
Lefiya gulped. An untoward thought crossed her mind: If I hug Tiona, wouldn’t that sort of be like hugging Aiz as well?!
And so, after a long pause, Lefiya cast aside her doubts and threw herself into the Amazon’s arms.
“Oh, Aiz.”
“?!”
Just then, right as their bodies came together, the woman of the hour entered the room and froze upon seeing such an unexpected scene.
“…I’m sorry. I’ll come back later.”
“Waaait! Ms. Aiz! I can explaaaain!!”
