"These mixed results make me worried... so I guessed it’s better to wait until we’re Empyreans or even Exalts or even until Ivy and Jade return. I just don’t want to put us in danger. That goes opposing to my duties as the Karmic Guardian Empress of the Davis Family~"
Tia smiled wryly, her teeth showing. It was lightly red in color because of the blood, wounding Davis’s heart.
"I’m sorry I asked... I won’t do it again..."
He reached out his hand, healing her lungs that seemed to have been punctured for no apparent reason. Her eyes were also injured, and the bones in her left arm had fractured. White light spread over her, making her look like a light fairy.
After Davis healed her, he lightly caressed her cheek and kissed her lips. Tia also reciprocated, a tear finally falling before she let him go with maturity and patience.
Davis decided not to doubt Tia anymore. Everything she did, she always did for a reason. Other than the diviner, no one was supposed to know the result, or both the diviner and the listener would be subject to a harsh backlash.
Davis didn’t feel anything other than karmic burden, but he guessed the reason he didn’t feel any pain was that his body was already strong.
He held Tia by his side, watching the countless scenic visuals move past them as though they were watching a movie. They also spotted numerous spirits watching them curiously, and they would talk about them as they identified them.
"But seriously, you really want Ivy Aries and Jade Aurora to be your sisters?" Still, Davis couldn’t help but ask.
"If I said that I would be happy but never reach the peak of happiness without them by my side, would you reconsider?" Tia blinked.
Davis blew into his closed mouth before he heaved a breath, "I understand. I already told you that I’ll look favorably upon them when we find them, but who knows if they still like someone like me."
"You still say that after you got two new women just like that?" Tia raised one of her brows at him.
Davis raised his hands, "I’m innocent. I did nothing other than court Fairy Xiu Juili. As for the Ralaza Heavenshade, it is truly the case of being too charming and handsome."
Davis flicked his sleeves and touched his chin, a faint hint of pride appearing on his face as she flashed a smug smile.
However, the Heavenshade’s boat appeared on the side they were looking at, and he spotted Ralaza Heavenshade glaring at him, causing him to wave goodbye to Tia.
"Alright, I have a few things to do. See you later."
Tia giggled as she watched him escape. She then saw Fairy Xiu Juili peek out from behind Ralaza Heavenshade, causing her to shake her head. Their romance seemed to be much more dramatic than hers since she was limited by her divinations, unable to do anything other than watch from a distance.
Time passed.
They crossed Shard Regions after Shard Regions.
Occasionally, they would pass by crystalline debris of shattered Shard Regions, broken platforms spinning aimlessly of forgotten spirit civilizations, ancient skeletons of deadly and strange lifeforms, and fallen immortals drifting as echoes of unknown expeditions.
Clearly, this wasn’t the first time humans or other races had entered this secret realm. However, they guessed it could be hundreds of millions of years ago or even billions of years ago, considering the skeletons were extremely old and nearly turned into ashes.
They stopped a bit to investigate, but there were no secrets or even legacies involved.
They were just a bunch of skeletons who probably didn’t even know how they died, considering that they didn’t leave any writing behind.
"Nothing to find here. Let’s leave."
Davis said and turned to look around, spotting Fairy Xiu Juili in the distance.
Their gazes matched and Fairy Xiu Juili barely managed to keep eye contact for three seconds before she hovered off, her ears red like an apple. He could only imagine what her beautiful face looked like behind her veil. He chuckled and followed her, only to be pulled back by his sons, Azariel and Lucian.
"Old fart, even if you want to go after a Celestial Fairy this shamelessly, do it out of our sight."
"Yeah, do it prim and properly like you would do before a marriage."
"..."
Davis’s expression churned as he was dragged back into his flying boat. Even Lucian was throwing slaps at him, repeating the same words he said to him back then when he caught him and Saffira together.
"Fine, fine. I’ll see to it that both of you are truly prim and proper when it comes to choosing partners."
Davis growled, causing Azariel and Lucian’s expressions to turn ashen.
They looked at each other and dropped him in front of Mother Myria, who chided him for acting like a naive youth. Davis wanted to argue that he was a three-year-old baby, but didn’t dare to since he felt like Myria was low-key angered since he didn’t romance with her the last two weeks.
The silence was absolute and heavy- until one day, it wasn’t.
It began as a whisper.
A thread of shrill noise barely perceptible even to immortal ears. A faint screech that made the bones tighten and the heart skip, not from fear, but from raw pressure. It grew louder as they advanced, and soon, the very fabric of space trembled with each step closer.
The void began to churn.
The stars ahead became hazy. Then, they disappeared entirely, swallowed by a rolling curtain of storm clouds, black, blue, and tinged with hues of violet and soul-light gray.
From the last High-Level Shard Region, they had finally arrived after two months and five days at the next High-Level Shard Region.
It was named the Wrathful Aeons Shard Region, a region filled with wind, lightning, sound energies, and the place where Isabella was last seen, according to the information they possessed.
