The group separated and flew all around that abandoned city for a while. Then, they gathered back in the center, confirming what they already saw with their Divine Senses.

"It is completely empty," Rean said. "Still, these ruins aren’t that old, probably no more than two or three thousand years or so. Some of the buildings are still in a more or less good condition."

Roan found the same. "Indeed. It’s just weird that the Great Void Shifter Formation was left in such a state."

"Now that I think about it..." Kentucky remembered something. "Back in F956, there were supposed to have been more Great Void Shifter Formations, right? It’s just that once the Universe F956 was conquered by the Werdlem Empire, most of those formations were abandoned or destroyed since there was no use for them anymore. Just keeping them in usable shape is already very expensive."

Rean understood. "Oh! So this might just be one of such formations. Even if the Great Void Shifter Formation stopped working, it is not like the Abyssal Paths it used disappeared. The formations exist only to make the Abyssal Paths safe to go through. They don’t create the Abyssal Paths themselves."

"Exactly!" Kentucky nodded. "Check the Great Void Shifter Chart again, Rean. You selected a random one in F974, didn’t you?"

Rean shook his head, though. "I didn’t. There was only one Great Void Shifter in this chart, so I thought we would be sent to a shifter that was being protected and maintained. But you are probably right. This Shifter is likely one that has been abandoned."

Roan narrowed his eyes. "However, looking at the city, it looks a lot more like it was abandoned because of a battle. It wasn’t abandoned just for the sake of doing so."

Rean put the chart away. "Well, no point thinking about that now. Let’s try to find a city. Remember not to use your CDs, as they are using fake IDs from back in Universe F956. It would be weird if such IDs suddenly appeared here."

Roan and Celis disappeared as Rean jumped on Kentucky’s back. "Alright, Kentucky! Full speed ahead! We need to find a city or any kind of settlement to gather information."

"On it!" Kentucky flapped his wings, darting towards the sky before flying into the distance.

It didn’t take long for them to find some information, though. They didn’t really need to find a city. As long as they found any rather high-level expert, that should be enough. Less than an hour later, Kentucky landed above a giant tree. Below, a bunch of Demon Beasts trembled, feeling Kentucky’s Bloodline.

Kentucky looked at the strongest Demon Beast, talking. "Hey, friend. Can you point out where we can find a city around here?"

"Y-Yes!" The demon beast quickly pointed in a direction. "Y-You can find the city of Difes just five days in that direction, s-sirs. I-I-I mean, five days for someone with m-my cultivation. S-Sirs will p-probably get there much faster. J-Just ask the D-Demon Beasts on the way, and t-they can update you."

Kentucky nodded, satisfied. "Thank you." Then, he took flight once again.

Just like the Demon Beast mentioned, they found more Demon Beasts on the way, and they all pointed in the same direction. With their speed, Rean and Kentucky only took a day to finally see the walls of the so-called Defis City. The number of experts flying around also increased as they drew closer.

"Suppress your cultivation, Kentucky," Rean said, doing the same with his own.

Kentucky nodded, and soon, Rean and Kentucky looked to be nothing but two Initial Stage Void Tempering Realm experts. Only then did Kentucky approach the city.

A good thing about different Universes was that they all used the same Divine Stones, so paying the fee to enter was easy. Sure, there were minute differences in the Divine Energy of the Stones themselves. After all, they originated from different Chaos Sources. However, no one would truly try to look if each Divine Stone traded in an entire Universe came from somewhere else.

The City wasn’t that big, which was a surprise to Rean. This city was close to the Great Void Shifter City where they arrived, so you would expect that nearby cities would be almost as big. Of course, Rean held himself back and didn’t make any inquires to the experts around.

Soon, they found the right store, and after paying quite a few Divine Stones, Rean purchased the chips for CDs used in this Universe. Following that, Rean and Kentucky rented a room in a hotel. Rean concealed the insides with a formation, and they entered the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. "Alright, Zangeshu, these chips are different, so we need to adapt our CDs to receive them."

Zangeshu took one of the chips and looked at it up close. "Shouldn’t be much of an issue. Let’s start."

Seeing Zangeshu’s uninterested expression, Rean couldn’t help but ask. "Aren’t you even a little bit excited? I mean, you literally just arrived at a completely different Universe, you know? Had I not taken you back then, you probably wouldn’t even have a chance to leave the continent."

Zangeshu glanced at him. "Will excitement help me get better with formations, forging, talismans, or inscriptions?"

"Well... no?" Rean shook his head.

"Then it is all the same shit, Master. Anyway, let’s not waste time. I want to take a look at this Universe’s Werdlem Network. There might be something useful." Zangeshu’s answer was as cold as always.

With the Celestial Soul System on their side, Tanxan’s recent addition, and their expertise, revising their CDs to accept the new chip without being found only took a little bit over a week. Following that, Rean gave everyone the new CDs, already with the new IDs... although he kept their normal names for now.

Foliana took her own, her eyes shining. "Great! New pieces of history from a different Universe! Can life get any better? Hahaha!"

Rean put a hand on Zangeshu’s head and turned it in Foliana’s direction. "See? That’s the right reaction!"

Zangeshu pushed it away. "I don’t give a shit! Stop bothering me, Master." And then, he went back to work on his things.

"Sigh... he is really not cute." Rean felt disappointed. "Oh well!"

Gathering with Sister Orb and the others, Rean connected to the Werdlem Network. "Alright, let’s take a look at where we are."

Rean accessed the Werdlem Network without problems, and soon, information began to pour in.
