AFTERWORD

Thank you for picking up Volume 3 of Combatants Will Be Dispatched!

It’s been a while since Volume 2 was released, but I’ve finally been able to complete Volume 3.

My sincerest apologies to all the readers who were patiently waiting for Volume 3.

I’ll say here that I’ll do my best to get the next book out more quickly, but please take it more as a statement of intent than a firm promise.

This volume features Grimm, who’s usually either sleeping or chasing after men.

Of course, this isn’t a series focusing on exploring what makes each heroine unique and attractive, so please don’t read too much into it when a volume’s presented as “XX’s volume.”

The story line uses the Obon Festival as a motif, and it turns out that of all the squad members, Grimm’s actually supposed to be the most sensible one.

Snow, loyal to money due to her rough upbringing, has no qualms about using her body.

Rose is willing to eat even the main character if the situation calls for it.

Alice is the evil android who worships at the altar of science and is the quintessential cynic.

With a lineup like that, I think that Grimm—who is faithful to the person she falls in love with, is skilled at most domestic tasks, and even has a nest egg saved up for marriage—actually ends up having the highest heroine score.

Of course, this series won’t end up as a romcom, so those traits are actually meaningless…

This is a pretty pointless bit of trivia, but in the author’s series Konosuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! a deity named Regina, the Goddess of Manipulation and Revenge, makes an appearance.

This character is actually a sister to Zenarith, the Goddess of Undeath and Disaster, from this series. However, since the two sisters handle different worlds, I doubt this fact will have any bearing in either work.

There might be stories that have hints like that scattered in the world building. In that case, I’ll probably make note of it in the afterword.

So for this volume, I’d like to once again close by thanking the illustrator Kakao Lanthanum, my editor I——, and everyone else in the editorial department for helping me get this book out the door.

And of course, as has become the habit—

—heartfelt thanks to all the readers who picked up this volume!
