Bladedance narrowed her eyes for a moment. She stared at the Azure Dragon trying to remember him. Just like the dragon, she too wasn’t good with the faces of the beast."I do believe I remember you," Bladedance said. "You were the grandson of your patriarch, were you not?"
Having been present during the treaty, Bladedance had got to meet all four patriarchs of the Four Beast Clans, as well as the many powerful beasts that were in this realm. While this dragon was only in the Divine Domain realm, he wasn’t that far off from entering the Celestial realm.
He would most likely reach it in no more than 40 thousand years.
The Azure Dragon smiled, its bluish-green scales glistening with sunlight.
"I am Qing Zhangru, the fourth grandson of our esteemed patriarch, Qing Sunwen," the dragon said with a much more polite tone than any other beasts that had shown one before.
But then again, this was the Sword God.
"If I may question the Sword God, would you mind explaining how it is that you have managed to come to this realm?" Qing Zhangru asked. "This particular teleportation receiving platform is only for members of our clan. I must sincerely ask the Sword God to explain how she got her hands on our teleportation talisman."
Bladedance didn’t answer for a moment. She had to carefully consider what words she was going to say next, for there was danger here even if it didn’t fully appear right away.
"I was not the one who used it," Bladedance said. "I was merely traveling with my disciple. We were in a lower realm, and one of my companions, this young beast, was the one who used the talisman."
The dragon’s eyes focused on Pearl. "Young child, the talisman you used was made by us Azure Dragons, solely for the use of the Azure Dragons. Pray tell how you came across it?"
Bladedance seemed quite curious herself. She hadn’t fully understood the details behind how they had come across the talisman. She had heard that the talisman had belonged to Pearl’s father, but the dragon claimed that it belonged to the dragons instead.
So she couldn’t help but wonder if Pearl’s father had somehow managed to get it from another dragon.
Pearl hesitated to answer in that moment. He didn’t know how much he should be saying, and how much he should not. He turned toward Alex, hoping for a hint at what to do.
Alex gently patted Pearl on the back. "Tell them," he said. "It’s fine. We are already here, so there is no point in hiding it."
Pearl took a deep breath and nodded.
He stepped forward and looked at the dragon before him. "I humbly greet senior," Pearl said. "This talisman was something that I acquired from my father."
"Your father?" the dragon asked. "No, how did your father come across it?"
"He was given this talisman when he was sent to the lower world to rule it for 15 thousand years. He—"
"Only a dragon is given that talisman," the dragon interrupted. "Your father should not have been given that."
"He was," Pearl said. "For my father was an Azure Dragon."
