A large ship had been prepared for transport, something that Alex had never seen before. He never knew there were actual vehicles to travel around the desert since he had never seen any.
Upon asking, he was told that there were very few such vehicles, and only someone with great contributions to the sect could have one. These were great for traveling around in the desert with, but more so than anything else, these were equipped to carry around individuals not belonging to the sect when they needed to go to the sect.
Alex didn't understand why these ships in particular had to be used, but it became clear when he entered the room prepared for him.
Six men sat surrounding him in a room that felt as if it was devoid of gravity. The gravity, of course, had not been affected, but his sense of it had been.
Within the room, Alex felt weightless, enough to the point that he couldn't even tell whether the ship was in motion or not. His body's momentum and inertia were completely foreign to him at that moment.
It took Alex a while to understand the point of the room. It was so that no one who was taken to and from the sect would ever learn the way to it.
He wondered what the reason was for this much secrecy.
There were no windows to look outside, so he had to remain in the room with the others, none of whom had said a single word just yet. Each one kept an eye on him, but other than that, they were spending their time in their own way.
"How long will it take us to get there?" Alex asked. "A day? Two?"
"Two weeks," one of the men said.
Alex paused. "Two weeks?" he asked. "Where in the hell is the Endless Night sect that it takes that long?"
He waited for them to answer, only to get back glares.
"Right… you won't tell me."
Alex wondered if the sect was in the core region of Hell, which was why they weren't answering the question.
'No, we wouldn't go straight to the core,' Alex thought. 'We have to be avoiding the core, which is why it's taking us so long. We have to go along its perimeter, which is costing us so many days.'
There was also the fact that the ship was likely much slower as well. Alex couldn't feel its speed at the moment, but he was certain that was it.
Since he was finally heading over to the Endless Night sect, he couldn't help but wonder just what sort of sect it was going to be.
Was it going to be a large sect with massive palace-like buildings? Was it going to have alchemy gardens that stretched as far as the eyes could see? Would it have hundreds of thousands of disciples training in an array?
The Endless Night sect had garnered quite the reputation after all this time. And with their capability to create Immortals, Alex wanted to learn more.
