"WHAT!!"
It wasn't just Alex that was shocked now. Even Momo and Pearl were shocked as well. They quickly headed over to Alex and sent their spiritual sense into the storage space. The sheer size of the storage bag alone would have been shocking at that moment, let alone seeing it filled with a hundred million spirit stones.
"That's… a hundred billion Saint spirit stones, isn't it?" Momo asked. She couldn't fathom how big of a number that was. At some point, the number became so absurd that it lost all meaning.
Pearl was similarly speechless. He had worked as a clerk before, so he understood what these spirit stones could buy in terms of ingredients.
There were sects and families that spent a million Immortal spirit stones for all of their disciples for a month, and here was Alex alone with a hundred times that.
At that point, even Grimsight was surprised by the earnings.
Silvermist grinned, hearing everyone's exclamation. He had felt similar jubilation when finding out how much he had won from his bet as well. He had asked the betting place too and found out that he had been one of the people who bet the most, so his winnings were similarly grand.
"Master, I cannot take this," Alex said, still stunned by the spirit stones in his hands.
"Nonsense. I gave it to you, so you can take it."
"But—"
"Don't argue with me on this today. It's your reward," Silvermist said. "Besides, I already took my 15 thousand Divine spirit stones I put as a bet. Those 12 thousand are just what we ended up winning thanks to you."
He made sure to say those words loud enough so even Wineweed could hear him far away.
Alex looked back and saw that while there were 100 million Immortal spirit stones in there, there were also 2,000 Divine spirit stones that he had entirely missed because of how few they were.
Adding onto the spirit stones he had and what he had received in the reward earlier, Alex now had close to 150 million Immortal spirit stones. He remembered a time when he would have been so happy to receive this.
A time when he wanted to leave and find his family as soon as possible but couldn't because of his lack of fortune. How different would life have been if he had found this money before meeting Silvermist?
He would be in the Sky God's palace right now, most likely, unable to get to the Medicine World to take part in the competition even if he wanted to do just that.
Things would've been so different at that point.
Alex smiled and thanked his master. He accepted the spirit stones and placed them in his Soul Space as well.
The crowd was more or less gone at that point, and the ones that were trying to stick around were urged by the staff members to leave. The gods did not wish to gather around with vagrant watchers on the side, after all.
In the end, there were only a few people left on the stage. The four finalists: Alex, Aethersage, Leafheart, and Treegold, as well as their masters and disciples.
Grimsight looked up first, noticing movement in the chambers where the gods stayed. People began pouring out from the front of the chamber, flying down toward the stage.
There were close to four dozen people up there.
