Xiao Zi Xuan was probably the one who was least worried . After Xiao Yi Lin sent out his men, her heart was already at ease as she was sure of the capabilities of the secret soldiers from her Xiao’s Residence .

And so, she played with her child in the courtyard everyday .

Qiao Tian Chang remained in the room with Ning Meng Yao . Only until she woke up once again did he finally not worry .

“Tian Chang, what’s wrong with you?” She didn’t know why but she always felt that Qiao Tian Chang was acting a little strange . She didn’t realize it previously when she woke up, but she was sure this time, as if there was something hidden from her .

Qiao Tian Chang restrained all his emotions and let out a laugh . He stretched his hands out to help her lean against the bed .

“I’m fine, I’m just worried about you . ”

She was relieved when she heard him, and she reached to embrace his shoulders with a smile, “Tian Chang, you don’t worry about me anymore . I’m fine now, am I not?”

“Yes, I’m glad you are . ” Qiao Tian Chang was slightly relieved and he forced a smile, “I’ll ask Qing Shuang to come in and do a check on you . ”

“I’m really fine, you don’t have to be so worried . ” Ning Meng Yao promptly reached for Qiao Tian Chang . She didn’t want him to be so worried .

Qiao Tian Chang looked deeply at Ning Meng Yao with his lips pressed tightly together without a word . Even though he was quiet, Ning Meng Yao could see from his eyes that he was blaming himself .

“I’ll just let Qing Shuang take a look, alright?” Ning Meng Yao didn’t have any way with the expression on Qiao Tian Chang’s face, and she could only nod her head helplessly .

Qiao Tian Chang finally revealed a smile on his face, and went out to call Qing Shuang in .

Very soon, Qing Shuang entered the room to take her pulse, “Young Master, don’t worry . Missy is doing fine . She’ll just need to recuperate . ”

“I understand . ” Qiao Tian Chang nodded his head to show his understanding .

After Qing Shuang left the place, Qiao Tian Chang looked at Ning Meng Yao, “The residence of the top general is ready, let’s move there . ” Even though this was a good place and Xiao Qi Tian was his good brother, but it was ultimately not his own place and it wasn’t very comfortable staying here .

Ning Meng Yao was taken aback and frowned . The Residence of the top general? Was he going to hold a post in the royal court? But he said to her before that he wouldn’t return .

“Tian Chang, you……”

“Yao’er, I know what you’re thinking . I just want to tell you that every decision I make is for your sake, this identity will allow me to do things more conveniently . We’ll leave together once things are done . ” How would Qiao Tian Chang not know of Ning Meng Yao’s hesitation?

Ning Meng Yao was confused as she looked at Qiao Tian Chang . What did he need his previous identity for?

Ning Meng Yao was a little taken aback and she felt weird inside . Although she was hurt by someone from the Qiao family, but it shouldn’t have been enough to anger him so much .

However, she couldn’t figure out what it was .

“Even though nobody would say anything at us staying in Qi Tian’s Residence, but I still prefer my own place if we’re going to be in the capital for a while . ” Qiao Tian Chang said softly .

Ning Meng Yao thought for a while and nodded her head .

After staying in the Qi’s Residence for a few days, Qiao Tian Chang and Ning Meng Yao brought Qing Shuang to the Residence of the top general .

There were only a few guards and servants in the residence, and there wasn’t anybody else .

Qiao Tian Chang was delighted, and he turned his head to Ning Meng Yao, “After you’ve recuperated, I’ll ask someone to buy a few more maidservants . ”

Ning Meng Yao shook her head and rejected, “No need, Qing Shuang will call a few for me . ” It was easier to have servants whom she knew . She didn’t like the thought of teaching the servants who were newly bought .  

“Alright, I’ll leave it up to you . ” Qiao Tian Chang nodded .

Qiao Tian Chang brought Ning Meng Yao to her room to rest, he then went to the kitchen to prepare tonics for her . He heard that a woman, who had gone through a miscarriage, must be taken care of as if she was in a confinement . If he was not careful, she would fall ill easily .

When Qiao Tian Chang carried the tonics in, Ning Meng Yao was hungry . She ate some afterwards but her face turned stiff, “Why is this tasteless?” There wasn’t any taste other than the taste of a pinch of salt .

“Qing Shuang said you need to recuperate well, so you can’t eat anything oily . I’ll make some good food for you after some time . ”f
