Cain clenched his teeth, his muscles tightening as the spiral of gravity tore across his body, blood leaking from the corner of his mouth. The impact stung—an impressive feat, considering that thanks to all his improvements and the enhancement of his energy, his evolved physique could negate nearly 95% of the damage from attacks delivered by Early Archdeities.
The fact that the attack had hurt him was a clear sign that Divine Calamity’s power had truly evolved.
Still mid-air, Cain twisted his body like a serpent in a storm. Regaining balance, he opened his palm and summoned a gravity-forged spear, its white-hot nucleus wrapped in white flames and Entropy Force. Without hesitation, he hurled it straight at the Archdeity of Gravity.
Divine Calamity was still grinning from having landed his previous strike—until he saw the spear hurtling toward him. It twisted space around itself, warping the fabric of reality, moving exponentially faster than the speed of light, making his smile fade instantly.
Clasping his hands, Divine Calamity summoned a gravitational field so dense that it coiled space and time around him, pushing all matter and energy away. But it wasn’t enough. The field only slowed the oncoming spear—it could not stop it.
Forced to evade, Divine Calamity sidestepped at the last instant. The spear missed his chest but smashed into his shoulder.
"BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!"
A brilliant explosion lit the sky, and Divine Calamity tumbled through the highest sky like a broken comet. Blood erupted from a gaping hole in his shoulder, steam hissing from the wound.
But that was only the beginning.
Before the smoke could even clear, his eyes widened in shock. Cain was already upon him—his fists cloaked in the gravitational might of a black hole and searing entropy flames capable of piercing through all defenses.
The Scarlet King’s gaze burned with killing intent, ready to end the pest that was Divine Calamity once and for all.
Just as Cain was about to strike, the World Breaker returned from the void, diving like a collapsing star. His weapons—two swords, a massive mace, and a titanic cubed hammer—had fused into a single monstrous artifact, radiating cosmic annihilation, enough force to flatten a mountain range.
"Damn it." Cain cursed in his mind. He shifted at the last second, landing a ferocious kick to Divine Calamity’s face that sent the Archdeity flying like a ragdoll. He then funneled all the built-up energy in his fist and slammed it into Azan’s colossal weapon.
"BOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!"
Fist met weapon with apocalyptic force. The sky above them shattered, creating shockwaves that expanded for hundreds of thousands of kilometers. Entire sections of land collapsed into voids, oceans pulled upward as if heaven itself were falling.
But neither Cain nor Azan cared for the destruction around them. Their focus remained singular—their clash. Their powers were still locked together, neither giving an inch. The weapon and the fist were still connected, surging with raw cultivation energy, each trying to overwhelm the other.
Cain grit his teeth as the World Breaker’s strength pressed into him, threatening to grind his bones to dust. But that wasn’t even the worst of it.
He could already sense it—the Lord of the Last Step racing toward his back with killing speed.
"AGGGHHHHHHH!"𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
A roar of pure rage erupted from Cain’s throat as the Concept of Rage from his Conquest Path surged forth. His muscles bulged, his veins pulsing with crimson energy as he invoked a burst of transcendent might. The sheer release of power was enough to send Azan flying backward into the void once again.
But Cain had no time to recover.
He felt the sensation of a thousand blades tearing into his back.
Of course, it was only two daggers—but the Lord of the Last Step was so fast, so relentless, that it felt like hundreds were striking at once. His movements created afterimages—a symphony of death raining down with pinpoint precision.
Marcus, the Lord of the Last Step, continued his assault without pause, slashing at Cain’s back in a relentless charge. Yet even with all his force, he frowned. His blades, crafted to sever divine armor and cut through reinforced flesh, were barely leaving shallow gashes.
"What is his skin made of?!" Marcus cursed inwardly but refused to stop. His daggers were laced with corrosive and venomous energy, designed to infiltrate the enemy’s body and slowly consume them from within.
Cain’s teeth remained clenched. The Star of Origin on his forehead pulsed with radiant energy. He forced his body to grow denser, heavier, anchoring himself against the onslaught. Regaining full control, he spun around with terrifying speed. His hand—white flames dancing along his fingers—lashed out like a scythe of death, aimed squarely at Marcus’ throat.
Just as his fingers were about to close around Marcus’ neck and crush it, the particles around the Archdeity began to vibrate violently.
In the blink of an eye, Marcus blinked thousands of kilometers away, evading Cain’s death grip by a fraction of a second. But even at that distance, he felt the aftershock of Cain’s power—an invisible sharpness scraping against his neck.
"It’s not just his defenses... his strength is monstrous. His white flames can erase any energy-based defense. And somehow, he always strikes the weakest point..." A flicker of dread crossed Marcus’ eyes. But instead of deterring him, it only made his killing intent intensify. He flashed forward, rejoining the battlefield with unrelenting speed.
And he wasn’t alone.
Above them, World Breaker Azan returned like a meteor of fury, trailing raw force behind him. Simultaneously, Divine Calamity unleashed a gravitational eruption, his Inner Universe bursting with light and collapsing mass, reshaping the battlefield itself.
Cain now stood at the epicenter of three overwhelming powers—each pressing on him from a different direction. The pressure was maddening, suffocating, soul-wrenching.
But Cain did not falter.
His eyes glowed brighter than ever, filled with killing intent and unshakable willpower. The Path of Conquest pulsed through his being, lifting both his mind and body to levels that defied the limits of his cultivation. There was no hesitation. No fear. No doubt.
