With the arrival of the representatives from the other races, who were also the in laws at the same time, it created a gap in the wedding preparation where I finally got some peace and quiet.
After all, it was wrong for those people to invade the time between the groom and his in laws.
Even if they were shameless, they just couldn't bring themselves to do something like this.
In the end, it wasn't just about not being rude.
It was because they were afraid that they would do something to damage their relationship beyond repair.
That was why I got some peace and quiet for once since the guests started to arrive.
Or at least I thought that I would get some peace and quiet, but it really wasn't that quiet either.
Though I was aware, it was still something else to see it all in front of me.
I had gathered quite a few in laws.
It wasn't just the royal couple from the Merman Empire and the chief and his wife of the Vale Tribe that were here. It was also the former king, the prime minister, and even the Dwarven King and Elven Queen had barged their way into this meeting.
Though in the case of the Elven Queen…
I tried my best to ignore the way that she, Moon, and the elder were looking at me.
It was three generations of elves that were trying to pressure me into doing something.
But I was able to ignore them as the Merman King and the chief of the Vale Tribe took the lead in this meeting.
Now that it was close to the wedding of their daughters, the two of them strangely came together. It must be because they had a shared experience that they were able to hit it off that well.
It seemed like they wanted to keep the feeling of their daughters being their little girls as long as possible, so it didn't take long before they started sharing stories about them.
They weren't able to control themselves and it didn't take long before their voices became louder and louder. As their voices became louder, more and more attention was drawn in their direction.
In no time at all, everyone came over to hear the stories and the two fathers were more than happy to keep telling stories about their daughters.
Though it reached a point where the two daughters couldn't take it anymore.
"Thud!"
There was a loud sound that rang out as the two daughters attacked their fathers.
Ariel threw a ball of water right in the Merman King's face, but this wasn't any normal kind of water. This was a ball of super condensed water that was formed with the scarf relic that she had been given.
So this ball of water was actually as hard as steel as she tossed it in her father's face.
As for Isra, she just swung her club without any hesitation in her father's face. There was no need for her to do anything fancy, pure brute force in the form of a club to the face was more than enough.
The two fathers fell to the ground, but it didn't seem like that diminished their fervor for telling stories about their daughters at all.
Though they were bleeding from their faces, they didn't hesitate to stand up and grab their daughters before saying the same thing, "Look at how shy she is. I remember the first time that she…"
Neither of them got to finish what they had been about to say as there was something else that hit them right in the face.
Once again, the two men fell down to the ground.
But even though violence was being used, it wasn't as if they were hitting hard enough to seriously hurt them.
In the end, the four of them were father and daughter, so it wasn't as if they would want to hurt each other.
In a sense, this was just how they were playing with each other.
Seeing this, I couldn't help feeling a bit sad.
It wasn't just in this world, it was also in my previous world…
I never really had a real family since I had been an orphan in both worlds…
So seeing them act this way made me remember a few things that I had thought that I had put behind me.
"Do you want me to tell some embarrassing stories about you as well?"
I was surprised to hear this, but then I turned to see that the prime minister…Noah was beside me.
Since he was an in law as well, it was only natural that he was here, but it surprised me that he was sitting beside me like this. I hadn't even noticed him approaching me…
After a pause, I said, "Do you even have any stories to tell?"
He just said with a faint smile, "You think that everything you do is a secret? There's more than one way to get information."
I raised a brow in doubt, but that look soon disappeared when he leaned in to whisper something.
"How do you know that?" I asked in a shocked voice.
After all, this was something that not even my wives knew…or at least not all of them since this had only happened with one of them. She should be the only one that knew about this matter.
"There's nothing a good bribe can't get you."
I really wanted to punch the smile off his face when he said this, but I held myself back in the end.
Seeing the way that I looked at him, Noah said, "See, there you go. You're finally loosening up. There's no need for you to act all sad by yourself when you're surrounded by family."
I was a bit taken aback by what he said, but then there was a smile that crept on my face.
Though…
"Ow!"
"I never said that I wouldn't hit you. That's the kind of stuff that brothers do, isn't it?" I said with the same smile on my face.
It was wrong to say that I didn't have a family in this world.
I had built one around me after all.
