336. Ruins of the Great Tree

There's an entrance under the base of the great tree.
Two doors block our path, but the one on the left was already smashed.
Looks like the Great Tree's roots have grown over this place.

I was hesitant at first, but curiosity got the better of me, so down I went to the eerie door.
As we approach the door, me and Partner bite off the roots that keep getting tangled on our body.

There appears to be a picture carved on the door.
I try to wipe it clean with my claw, but I'm not able to remove the dirt and dust stuck in the indentions.
Apparently, it wasn't a picture, but letters.
I don't quite understand what it says.

As I stared at the letters carved on the door's surface, some parts of it became...... familiar?
Then, all of a sudden, my head began to heat up.

【"あw／g／ntnzえ／ga"】

Was that...... a mix of Japanese and English?
It was kinda broken and rather gibberish, but despite their similarities, it could also just be a different language that uses the same letters.

W-What does this imply?
All these structures look really old...... but, does that mean there were others like me who came from Earth?
Even so, that's a really messed up arrangement of letters there......

If I enter this passageway, will I find the answer?
There might be something in there that'll help me figure who or what I really am.

I don't remember much about my life before I hatched as a dragon, so maybe that's why I don't have a strong attachment to my previous world.
Besides, thinking too deeply about it would just be a waste of my time, so I didn't really think much about it, but now that it's being brought up again, I wonder why I was even brought here in this world.
Finding something like this is...... not something I can ignore, huh.
Though, if I'm being honest, I'm just curious.

As I take a few steps towards the inside of the entrance, Partner turns to me.

【"...... Ya gonna enter? Zis place gives off a bad vibe"】

...... Yeah, I feel that "bad vibe" too.
But, I could discover my own origins here.
So, I'm going. No matter what the risk.

Then again, this might not be a place for Alo, Treant, and Petite Nightmare......
But, we also can't leave them alone on this island, seeing that even the lowest class monster here is too much for them to handle......

【"Go, if ya want to. Nothin' I can do anyway since this yer body"】

After saying that, Partner looks away from me.

【"But, make sure ya find us some gud grub. We need it"】

Alo then jumps off my head and uses〖Gale〗to land safely on the ground with her dress swaying along the wind.
Petite Nightmare already landed before her.

Y-You guys......!

Treant walks past Alo and Nightmare over to me, puffing its nose (?) out with confidence.
...... I guess Treant'll be alright since he can just pretend to be a normal tree when danger comes.

In any case, now that we've come this far, there's no turning back.
And so, with high expectations and the same amount of doubts, we enter the entrance.
Everything inside is crumpled and morbid. The ceiling also has many holes where sunlight is passing through, giving us a faint light in the interior.

I traverse with caution while keeping〖Presence Sense〗on at all times.
This passage is wide. It's like there was something even bigger living here.
There are destroyed pillars all over the place, and each one has carvings of humans engraved in it.
It feels almost like a temple.

On the other side of this large hallway are two human-looking creatures.
They're standing in a dark area, so I can't see them very well. But, it seems like they were expecting me.
They both turn our way and begin to approach us.
Something appears to be bouncing beside them. Is that their pet?

I gulped.

As they approach closer, I realize they're not wearing any clothes.
They don't have heads, and their stomachs have faces.
Oh no, more Adams!

The two Adams are...... walking towards me with their chest faces still expressionless.
When I took a step back, they suddenly started dashing.

The thing that was bouncing beside them was actually a grotesque, one-eyed leg with long hair.
That long hair, those eyelashes, and those thick chunky lips are making it look feminine.

What's with those Adam and Eve names?!
Who names these species anyway?

This is...... impossible. I said no turning back, but I've got to turn back.
Them gathering together like this is too surreal. Is this some kind of Adam nest or something?
Why are a bunch of these guys even in here?

I'm certain that if I stay and fight, they'll surround me.
I turn around, secure Alo in my mouth again, pick Treant up, and dash to the exit.
As for Petite Nightmare, she was already riding on top of Partner's head.

The instant I stepped outside, I immediately take flight.
There's still a risk of getting hit by〖Gravidon〗in the sky.
So, I fly straight up and hide behind the Great Tree's branches for cover.

Let's hope this is enough to give them the slip.
I...... think I should come back again later once I've gotten a little bit stronger.
Or, maybe if Alo and the rest help out in holding one Adam down, we can beat them despite the level gap......
