Hans and Jade split up to the left and right, surrounding the silhouette that is now covered by the fog again.
As for me, I charge headstraight towards the silhouette.

My guess is…… hidden in this thick fog are traps made of webs by those spider monsters earlier.

Hans’s footsteps suddenly stops.

I can hear Hans swinging his sword.
Three new silhouettes surround Hans.

It seems that the ambush from the monsters in hiding were successful.

The undead’s silhouette slightly turned to look at the ambush, but it didn’t mind.
If we move calmly, it’s effective enough to drop down its guard.
This should reduce the number of ambush from any more monsters in hiding.

“Wraagh!”

Jade swings his sword at the undead, but it was blocked by its giant hand.
At that moment, I increased my speed.
From this distance, there’s sure to be an opening.
In order for the two of them catch the undead off guard, I intentionally lowered my speed and waited for them to give me a chance, or in this case, an opening.

I successfully get in close to the undead.
We’re at a distance where my sword can reach her now.

As I was about to swing the undead with my sword, it pushes Jade away with its large arm and turns it at me to guard from my strike.
I cut the bloated arm with my sword.
The arm breaks apart, as if it was made of soil.
I continue my barrage of sword strikes, aiming at its chest.
It must’ve thought it could block my sword like it did with Jade’s.

“A, ah……”

The undead steps back.
But, you’re too late.
If you’re only good at magic, you should’ve used one earlier before we got this close.

As the undead steps further back, I proceed headlong in pursuit.
And, I don’t intend to attack you once.
I will strike you with a series of blows.

First, I cut its arm, then I slash its unguarded chest, legs, and waist with three consecutive cuts.
The undead gets minced and its earth-like body rips apart.
I deal a fourth strike at its head.
The undead’s headless body falls down the ground.

Its head rolls down to my feet.
The fog slowly gets thinner.
With the undead exterminated, this fog will lift up soon.

“Whew…… it’s over”

No, I shouldn’t be too optimistic.
If there are more undead like that, it will become a major obstacle for us.
One or two undeads of that level is enough to take down an entire division.
If there are more, I can only hope they aren’t going after Lord Tallmann……

“Expertly done, Azalea-sama! You destroyed its gigantic arm so easily……”

Hans and Jade seem to be doing alright.
I look down and check the undead’s head.

The undead, has no expression.
When I first saw it in the distance, it looked no different from a normal human, but come to think of it, the undead I attacked was earthly and made of soil.
Although, since it takes the appearance of a little girl, there’s no helping it if it’s peculiar in nature.

“When I first saw it, I thought its face looked more human…… my vision wasn’t obscured either. Did I imagine that……”Saying it out loud, something really feels off.

Of course. The undead I attacked wasn’t the undead I saw.

The undead’s body bursts, and from inside it, a web is shot at us.

So, she switched places with a substitute made of soil in the dense fog.
Her real body was hiding under the earth.
Did she choose not to use magic and only relied on her large hand to bait us so we wouldn’t pay attention to our surroundings during the switch?

The undead girl’s other hand was touching a spider.
That spider was different from the rest, it has a white mask, and it’s body is jet-black.
Light shines from the undead’s hand touching the spider.

“She’s using〖Mana Drain〗!”

I wondered why she didn’t use magic…… it was because she had that black spider monster, who has a large pool of magic, on standby, waiting for the right time to use〖Mana Drain〗and replenish it.
With her magic power revitalized, it’s coming.

“〖Gale〗!”

A strong wind gathers around the undead girl, blowing away the fog and the rocks around her.
That looks even stronger than her previous one. She intends to end this battle with that.

I add more muscle power into my legs and escape from the earth hands’ grasp.
More earth hands attempt to grab me, but I cut them all up with my sword.

It’s unavoidable…… Jade is dangerously close to the undead, and Hans’ feet are still tangled by spider webs.
I’ll have to use〖Resist〗again.

The undead fires the gathered wind cyclone in all directions.
As I point my sword to the oncoming cyclone and ready to cancel her magic…… that blue dragon came into mind.
After getting past this, there’s still the dragon to take care of.

Hans asks as I turn my back at the undead.

I then thrust my sword at the ground, crouch in place and face down.
My back receives the devastating blow of her Gale.
With my sword as an anchor, I add more weight to my hands and feet, doing whatever it takes to withstand the turbulence of the cyclone without relying on magic.
