“A-Amazing! They’re no match against Ryujin-sama’s might! We can win this……!”
“Don’t you think we should go back? We’re clearly not needed here…… “

The Lithuvar men seem to be more cheerful from before when we started the patrol.
But as for me, I convince myself that this is only the beginning.

I was able to fend off the army of 80, but who knows how big the actual army is itself.
I need to return to the village right away.
So the village won’t be too worried, they positioned me in a spot where I can return to the village immediately.

If they sent another army to attack the village in a different direction, I might be too late.
I clearly underestimated the enemy’s scale.
I honestly thought there’d only be around 30 of them, in fact, I don’t think the army of 80 I drove off earlier was even the main force.

The more I think about it, the more I don’t get it…… what reason would anyone have to order an army as large as an Abyss nest to invade here.

If they just wanted to annihilate the Lithuvar Tribe out of spite, that would explain a few things, but…… the army I just fought showed no signs of holding any grudge.
That army of 80 might just be the recon squad.
If they are, then the incoming main force could be over a hundred.
Although, since many of them retreated from the fight, they might report about my existence and hopefully they’ll stop their advances.
A monster of my caliber isn’t something normal humans can deal with.
I bet if I had a rematch with that Hero from before, I’m confident I can easily beat him with the way I am now.

A high-pitched sound is heard, coming from the village.
I’ve heard this before.
It’s the Lithuvar Tribe’s whistle signal, their trouga.
So, the enemy did attack from another direction……

The Lithuvar men accompanying me heard the signal as well and they become worried.

“Gru~u……”

I growl at the Lithuvar men and they look at me as I turn towards the village.

“Ryujin-sama……?”
“You’re returning to the village, right? Then, we will also……”

I shake my head and dash towards the village, leaving them behind.

“Ryu, Ryujin-sama—!”
“A-At least take me with you! I want to help the village too……!”

Sorry, but I’ll be slowed down if you all ride on my back, and if we meet the enemy on the way and they target you, I won’t be able to keep you all safe……
I can’t afford to be weighed down……
There’s a chance that the survivors of that army of 80 might attack them, but…… if I stick around any longer, I might be too late to save the village.
With how scared they were in their retreat, they probably won’t dare to set foot in the forest again.

The Lithuvar Tribe gets a major morale boost from my arrival, while the enemies all get flustered.

The army I fought before numbered to 80.
Since there are 150 here…… does that mean they split into two groups?

“I don’t care! My papa is Lord Tallmann’s personal friend! If I die, you’ll all be executed! Don’t you get it! I only came because Papa said so! But, this isn’t what I signed up for! This is all so messed up! I’m going home!”

…… Seems like not all squad captains are competent fighters.
He looks hopeless so I’ll just ignore him.
