Chapter 4085: Green

He looked more than okay!
“This is great. I’m really surprised. I didn’t hear about you joining the military.” Ye Jian took a step back and sized up Yang Heng carefully. “You’re indeed handsome. You’re much more handsome than when you were in casual clothes.
“Why did you join the military?” she asked again.
Yang Heng, who had a crew cut, looked much tougher now. “Just because. I don’t even know why I signed up. It was a moment of hot-headedness, I guess.
“I’ve joined the translation department.. You’ve taken the martial arts route while I’ve taken the language route.”
Yang Heng, who came back from studying abroad, had chosen to join the military just because of Auntie Song Lanting’s words. “Since you haven’t thought of where you want to go after coming back to the country, you can join the military too. You’re not that old. Go and try and see if you can get in.”
...Yang Heng was 23 years old when he came back after graduating from university overseas. He was one year younger than the age limit of 24. Most importantly, he graduated with a master’s degree. After layers of political review, Yang Heng joined the army last winter.
He was assigned to the translation department of a certain base and became an interpreter in the military unit.
This time, he didn’t come with Song Zhiqiu. Instead, he came with his regimental commander to the National Science University to do something.
After hearing the reason why Yang Heng joined the army, Ye Jian couldn’t help but sigh. “I didn’t expect you to join the army too. Before the holidays, Zhiqiu and I talked about you. We both thought that you would stay in Australia for your girlfriend.”
“Hahaha, that beauty from Australia already has a new lover. My cousin…” Because it was Ye Jian, Song Zhiqiu didn’t think too much and wanted to reveal Yang Heng’s love history. Before he could say it, Yang Heng nudged his stomach with his elbow.
“Song Zhiqiu, don’t you dare say another word.” Yang Heng gritted his teeth and warned him. This was such an embarrassing matter… He didn’t want to mention it. It was a dark history that he didn’t want to remember in his lifetime.
Song Zhiqiu, who was holding his stomach, groaned and didn’t continue. He only said to Ye Jian, “I’ll tell you when I’m free. We’ll hide from him.”
Xu Wen and He Jing didn’t understand anything immediately. When Ye Jian saw Yang Heng’s dark expression, she pursed her lips and smiled. She looked at Yang Heng meaningfully.
Although he stopped Song Zhiqiu in time, she still knew something.
The woman already had a new lover. These words contained a lot of information.
Yang Heng felt uncomfortable under Ye Jian’s gaze. He glared at Ye Jian and sighed helplessly. “It’s a huge psychological pressure to be your friend. You’re so smart. Do I have any privacy left?”
“Privacy? The entire family has been laughing for half a day. How can this be called privacy?” Song Zhiqiu rubbed his stomach and laughed secretly. Then, he said to Ye Jian, “My cousin is treating tonight. Let’s go out for dinner. Xu Wen, He Jing, you guys should come along too.”
Ye Jian hurriedly introduced her friends to Yang Heng. She was so shocked by Yang Heng’s military uniform that she forgot to introduce them.
After the introduction, Xu Wen smiled and said to Song Zhiqiu, “Your cousin is much more handsome than you.”
Song Zhiqiu looked at Yang Heng and asked Xu Wen seriously, “Were you sent to the desert during winter vacation or something?”
“What?” Xu Wen didn’t understand what he meant. She was puzzled.
Ye Jian looked at the two cousins and smiled at Xu Wen. “He means to ask if your eyes have been blinded by sand.”
