"It looks like you were telling us the truth. These guys really are walking around our territory like they’re owning the place." The man next to Pill Master said as he stepped forward.
The man stood two meters tall and appeared to be in his mid to late thirties with a muscular physique. He had wild black hair and amber colored eyes that matched that of a beast. He wore a pair of black iron gauntlets with three sharp fang-like blades protruding from the knuckles.
"That damned old man..! To bring those Crimson Tigers bastards to this place—he’s really taking Fatal Touch too lightly!" Mystic Lock said angrily.
The man who stood next to Pill Master was called Saber Fang. He was a member of an organization similar to Fatal Touch called Crimson Tigers.
While Fatal Touch specialized in secret assassinations and collecting information, Crimson Tigers used a more direct and confrontational approach when handling player killing requests. The Crimson Tigers were also known to rent out the services of their talented members to other guilds or wealthy individuals. Among those individuals, there were ten in particular that stood out called the "Fangs".
The Fangs were ranked according to their combat ability. In other words, the person who held the title of the 1st Fang was considered the strongest player among the Crimson Tigers.
As for Saber Fang, he was someone who held the 3rd rank spot among the ten Fangs of Crimson Tigers.
"Hmph, do I have time to waste telling lies? Saber Fang, as we agreed beforehand, as long as you help me get rid of them, I will sign a one month contract with the Crimson Tigers. During that time, if you provide the ingredients, I will make grade two and grade three pills." Pill Master stated as his gaze locked onto Izroth.
The more he thought about what happened back in the trial dungeon, the angrier and more impatient Pill Master became. He had set aside his important time due to Haishe’s request. Yet, he dared to only give him a portion of what was initially promised? Not only that, but he even had the audacity to side with another Apothecary over him.
Haishe’s actions did not just shame Pill Master, it was no different than slapping his face. That’s why, while on his way to collect his payment from Fatal Touch’s branch in Kifa Karsts, Pill Master came up with the brilliant idea of getting in touch with Saber Fang and the Crimson Tigers.
"That arrogant young brat, Haishe, all of them—I’ll make sure all of them pay for looking down on me!" Pill Master thought to himself with a darkened expression.
"You can rest assured, Elder Pill Master. Seeing how they decided to trespass in our territory without our permission, they won’t be able to complain about the consequences. I don’t know exactly what happened between you and those guys, but that doesn’t matter. I’ll help you get your revenge. After that, I expect you to make us the best pills around." Saber Fang stated confidently.
"Big bro, he mentioned they were doing a trial dungeon in this area. Seeing as how it’s been this long, I don’t they came out of that place empty handed. Since it’s in our territory, shouldn’t they hand over what rightfully belongs to us while they’re at it?" One of the players nearby commented as he walked up next to Saber Fang.
It was difficult to make out the player’s exact features due to the strange tattered black robe he was wearing; however, based on their voice and the features that did peak through the tattered black robe, one could tell that it was a young man. There were several black chains that emitted a cold energy wrapped around his left arm. And, in the palm of his left hand was an open book with ancient magic texts scribbled on its pages.
This young man went by the name Zombie King. And, just like Saber Fang, he was also a member of Crimson Tigers. He also held the 9th place spot among the Fangs.
"Oh? You made a good point there. We’ll have them cough up whatever they got from the trial dungeon. If they refuse, we’ll just ask for compensation and have them cough up a portion of their territory in Kifa Karsts." Saber Fang said with a grin.
"Heh, this is a good chance to make those Fatal Touch bastards lose face." Zombie King commented with a short burst of laughter.
When Haishe looked over, he immediately recognized the group who arrived with Pill Master.
"I knew that old man was upset, but to think he’d be this crazy and drag those headstrong idiots from Crimson Tigers into it. I received a report that Saber Fang was in Kifa Karsts. But, there was no mention that Zombie King was with him. Confronting Saber Fang and Zombie King is already a headache. If we include twenty to thirty people they brought along with them, it will be a tough battle. Palace Master Izroth, I’m afraid our conversation will have to wait. Why don’t we work together and deal with this problem first?" Haishe suggested.
"It’s trading one headache for another, but... I’d much rather deal with those guys from Crimson Tigers." Haishe thought to himself.
A part of Haishe was glad that Pill Master could not let go of his anger and brought others to take revenge on his behalf. In this way, at least Izroth’s attention would be momentarily diverted from their previous conversation.
"There’s no need." Izroth replied without hesitation.
He then said to seemingly no one, "Deal with them."
The moment he uttered those words, the shadow beneath Izroth’s feet started to shift about. At the same time, a figure emerged from the shadow. This figure was none other than Azalea. To be more precise, it was the Phantom of Harmony that Azalea left with Izroth.
Thanks to the trait Queen of Phantoms, Azalea gained the ability to use Legion of Phantoms. This allowed her to create realistic phantoms of herself that contained a portion of her power.
Among the phantoms Azalea could create, there was a special one called the Phantom of Harmony. While other phantoms could only display a part of her strength, the Phantom of Harmony was capable of utilizing 100% of Azalea’s original strength. In other words, it was the same as having Azalea herself present.
Haishe was taken aback by the abrupt appearance of the Phantom of Harmony from Izroth’s shadow. But, he was even more so surprised by Izroth’s response. He understood that Izroth was strong; however, Saber Fang and Zombie King were still high level players who could not be underestimated.
"Big bro Saber Fang, big bro Zombie King, since this is Kifa Karsts, let me lead the guys to handle this. You don’t have to lift a finger." One of the players that stood a respectful distance behind Saber Fang said confidently.
It was a young man with a hardened appearance who looked to be in his mid twenties. He wore a set of light armor and wore a unique curved two-handed greatsword on his back.
This young man was the section leader in charge of managing the Crimson Tigers section of the Kifa Karsts, Raynar.
Due to sharing borders in the Kifa Karsts, Fatal Touch and Crimson Tigers often exchanged small skirmishes and held disputes over resources that were close to either of their sides. The two had been in constant competition in the player hunting world and that spread out to other areas of RML. Therefore, they ended up clashing often and formed a hardened rivalry. Naturally, Raynar did not want to let go of this chance to prove himself.
Saber Fang looked the Phantom of Harmony before giving a small nod of approval.
"If you’re going to do it, do it thoroughly." Saber Fang stated as he folded his arms.
"Yes, big bro." Raynar said as a grateful expression formed on his face.
He then picked out a few players and ordered, "You eight, follow me. The rest of you secure the perimeter and make sure no one escapes. If anyone manages to slip through your side, I’ll make sure you bear the consequences."
"Yes, section leader!" The players from Crimson Tigers responded in unison.
When Raynar gave the order, the eight players who possessed classes that specialized in close combat moved forward. As for the others, they spread out and created a secure net in order to prevent Izroth or any others from escaping.
Bang!
Raynar removed the greatsword from his back with a smirk on his face as he closed the distance between Izroth and Haishe’s group.
"Remember, don’t kill all of them. We need Haishe, Izroth, and Iron Cauldron alive. Those guys are the ones likely carrying all the loot." Raynar said as he charged forward.
Of course, Pill Master had already informed them of his former party’s status and positions in the trial dungeon. Using this information and taking Saber Fang’s words to heart, Raynar aimed to get rid of the dead weight as soon as possible.
