Haziel stayed silent for a moment.
As if she was thinking about what Mae just said.
"We had forty-six exchanges. Battles, skirmishes, ambushes and duels combined. The Gambler academy won thirty-eight of them. In the remaining 8, four are ties and the four were the ones where our team escaped.
And in all of those exchanges, we barely suffered. Even the ones we lost, we escaped with our lives intact.
But you on the other hand…"
Haziel paused again. She was speaking as if she was there to relax. As if she couldn’t care less about the meeting and was I no hurry it to finish her words any time soon.
Just when Mae was about to speak, she continued.
"In a way, the gambler team was actually winning this whole thing.
You proposing the truce is evidence of that. So, I will be generous. The Gambler academy will take seventy percent. You two combined can take thirty percent and we are fine.
I promise that my team won’t come and bully you as they please and show proper restraint."
Quinzz smiled faintly and said.
"Haziel, it seems like you don’t understand the situation you are in.
It is indeed true that you appeared to be on the winning side of this whole thing. But you and I both know that you are not going o win.
The only reason you have that upper hand is because I was restricting the entry of other members from Athena and Hephaestus academy.
I am greedy for these resources. That’s why we were holding ourselves back by not taking the academy’s help.
But if you push us like this, I won’t have a choice.
I am sure, with all the great qualities and abilities the gambler academy students have, you cannot spare too many people for a planet like this.
You have too many enemies and all of them are focused on you. Your resources are thin.
If you are not willing to accept my offer, I will draw this battle out. I will drag it down to a snail’s pace and deal with you one by one, slowly.
It will surely end up in my victory.
So, don’t test us.
Take the twenty-five and get out of here."
"I am sorry. No can do.
How do you expect me to show my face to my teammates and tell them to swallow a smaller piece when they were the ones doing the ass kicking.
The moment you proposed the truce, you lost the high ground Quinzz.
You cannot make me take that deal."
"I can, though."
As soon as he said those words, the lava in the lake surged up.
*BOOM* *BOOM* *SPLASH* *SPLASH*
Several vacuums opened up in the middle with loud splashes and cultivator came out from those voids. At the same time, the lava around them rose up like tidal waves.
They weren’t huge by any means, but they were many and they were all aimed at the center. They created this wall around the island, threatening to collapse into the meeting at any given moment.
At the same time, a dome appeared around Quinzz and the other two.
"We installed a formation that will help us navigate through the fire domain and use it to our benefit.
These cultivators are all the best fire element users in the Hephaestus team and with the formation, they can use the lava lake like second nature.
The fire elemental energy in the lake and the domain is now funneled to make a barrier formation around the domain.
I already checked, your team isn’t in the domain, which mean’s they won’t be able to come in and rescue you, any time soon.
So, your only options are death or to sign a soul contract on behalf of the gambler academy.
Then, you will to see another day with twenty five percent of this planet still under your control."
Haziel looked around, not really that surprised by this.
Not even a hint.
And this made Quinzz feel a bit off about the plan. But he brushed the feeling away and said.
"This is a good deal Haziel. This is a valuable planet and you didn’t even invest that much in. In a way, you are profiting way more than I am."
"You are really well prepared for this Quinzz. I guess your reputation isn’t for nothing."
"Sign the contract, Haziel."
"You know, I believed that you are definitely going to prepare. But I didn’t know what you would have planned for this.
This would have never struck my mind, even if I had guessed it a million times."
"Sign it Haziel. I am losing my patience."
"Alright, alright. I don’t want to waste my time talking either."
As she said that, she stomped her foot on the ground. Her shoe opened up, and a few metal spheres shot out. They were like bullets as they zoomed off the island and into the lake.
The shoe also projected a dome formation surrounding her and the team.
*SPLASH*
Quinzz didn’t hesitate and gave the order to attack. The tidal waves of lava crashed on to the island. But the two domes protected both the teams. But in the middle of that attack, the spheres went into the lava.
And the next thing they knew, from the spots where the six spheres landed, six humanoid figures appeared.
Humanoids that looked like they were made out of the lava came up and they jumped at the Hephaestus members in the lake.
Out of the ten, six members were immediately occupied. They did turn around and attack the humanoids. They were quick too.
As the attacks landed, the humanoids collapsed. They didn’t have much defense and even their attacks didn’t pack too much punch.
But they had something else.
Consistency.
As soon as the body collapsed, the sphere fell back into the lake. Even before the whole body dissolved, a new body has formed and attacked them.
Before the cultivators could even prepare for the defense, the next attack was already in their face.
At that moment…
*BAM*
Haziel stomped her other foot.
