The days went by and Sam’s plans were executed seamlessly.
He brought out a bunch of other puppets and tested them while letting his friends highlight themselves. Soon, everyone of his friends who was part of an academy, was in a high position. Except for Noah and Kumar, who grew a bit distant because of their previous situation, everyone else was in a place that was perfect for Sam.
The first thing they did was obviously to spy for him.
They got all the information they could get from the strategy teams about the second grade realms and even some third grade realms to Sam.
Of course, Sam wasn’t stupid enough to execute the plans over those places. If he did, the first thing they would do would be to suspect the newcomers of the info leaks and his friends would be in trouble.
He still needed them in those positions for some future plans.
Anyway, until the first quarter is over, Sam decided to just deal with the second grade. He even used the same puppets to test against different academies and got a lot of data.
Even if he had the best simulation there ever was within his divine dimension, the real deal was a real deal after all.
While he did that, there were several more offers like the one with the Hephaestus academy.
Just like those elders and Ling Tian mentioned, more and more people, even from some other Olympian academies came over with various offers as if they were doing Sam a favor.
After repeatedly brushing their offers off, Sam almost got sick of them.
Just a couple of days before the first quarter, which means, three month period since the conquest started, Sam sat down with Ling Tian and asked.
"Why are they so damn persistent? They already knew what would happen if they covet the wrong stuff from wrong people. Didn’t they learn nothing from what happened with the Hub?"
Sam question was almost rhetorical.
But Ling Tian answered it anyway.
"Do you really want to be taken a seriously as the mysterious and enigmatic hub?"
Sam with a straight face answered with only one word.
"Yes."
"You do realize what you are asking for, right? You are telling those elders who were blinded by such greed that they even threw all the caution to the wind when they tried to get more and more benefits from the hub, until it bit them in their asses…
And even then, instead of straight up destroying the hub, they still tried to steal that technology… even with all of it that was at stake…
You are asking those people to put you… a second grade student at the same level as that dangerous entity that they don’t even know anything about."
Sam thought for a moment and said.
"Yep, that sounds about right."
"I thought you were a genius at everything. Good to know that you are delusional."
Sam smirked and said.
"Come on, Ling Tian. You tell me. Who is actually delusional here? You have seen since I was a mortal plane cultivator. You knew what I did and what I could do. These people, despite my repeated taunts and provocations, let me roam around them and even allowed me to grow.
All because they just thought I am a second grade student and that was all there is to it.
If that’s not deluding themselves, I don’t know what it is."
Ling Tian was dumbfounded for a second. He didn’t have any retort for what Sam said.
It was indeed true. If he were Sam’s enemy, he would have immediately killed him. The moment he met him would be the last moment of Sam. Not only can Sam wait and plan for your demise, he will keep on reminding you that he is coming until the end.
It is the most humiliating defeat one could ever take.
For the next two days, Sam got more and more threats and offers. But he flat out refused them. If all his previous activities hadn’t pissed them off enough, his actions now did. And he wasn’t the only one getting threats.
Even the other students across various realms and grades were asked if they could mediate the deal. Sam didn’t even understand how did they even start thinking that some students could persuade him. But later realized that the academies kind of placed a bounty of sorts.
They wanted to make the tech public and they are doing whatever they can to get it.
Even the elders weren’t safe.
Everyone was continuously being pestered and threatened. The academies are holding meetings. New alliances are being formed and even the conquest which put a hold on meaningless slaughter and the revenge of all the academies on Sam was suddenly turned back its focus on Sam.
Everyone wanted the new worlds, its resources and everything else that comes from those points. But since Sam managed to overcome that with his tech and puppets, their focus turned back to that. If they had those puppets, anyone would have managed to conquer the second grade realms.
In fact, they wouldn’t have stopped like Sam. They would have just gone all out and took over the second grade.
Of course, they would have formed some alliances to ensure they wouldn’t be ganged up on. But they sure as well, wouldn’t have let go of so many resources.
While ignoring all the momentum he created, Sam was just waiting for the first quarters points to be distributed. He wanted to see what he could buy using those points and how he can improve his tech even more.
The two days passed in a blink of an eye and the points have been revealed.
Sam wasn’t really surprised by how much he gained. He had his presence in 24 words and among them, he had a complete control over 3. Then for 14 worlds he held 50%. For the remaining seven he held, 31,24,43,23,12,56,48 respectively.
With that, he held exactly 111,330 points after his first quarter.
