Afterword
Thank you very much for picking up this book.
My name is Saekisan, and I am the author. I trust you enjoyed Volume 6 of The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten.
The previous volume was a collection of short vignettes, but with this volume, we’ve returned to the main storyline. There’s still plenty of summer vacation left!
Here we see Amane, sorting out ties from his past, one by one, while flirting at his parents’ house, and Mahiru, reflecting on her own past while she watches him. The two of them have a similar temperament, but in some ways their upbringings were exactly opposite, so I hope you will bear that in mind as the story moves along.
But anyway, after going through this and that, Amane is growing up all right, so he might just have the capacity to care for all of Mahiru’s needs and make her smile and be happy, don’t you think? Even as the author, I can see that he’s really changed compared to the first book. Who could have predicted he would become such a romantic young man?
In addition to Amane and Mahiru, I also touched briefly on Itsuki’s and Chitose’s circumstances, in a continuation of the last volume. The two of them have various problems of their own, and I plan to come back to their story again in future installments.
Once again, I was fortunate enough to have Hanekoto draw the wonderful illustrations for this volume. As always, the only way I can describe them is “wonderful.”
Since Volume 6 is a continuation of the characters’ summer vacation, I got Hanekoto to put Mahiru in her yukata on the cover. She is an extremely polished and beautiful young lady. I’m terribly jealous of Amane, who gets to accompany such a beauty.
Once again, there is an angel’s feather hidden on the cover, so try to find it, everyone!
Also, the frontispiece showing Amane and Mahiru sleeping together is just tremendous. Somehow, even though hardly any skin is exposed, it’s still really ero—(the sentence abruptly breaks off here).
Wholesome! We’re keeping everything wholesome! There’s no way that a loser—I mean, a gentleman—like Amane could ever do anything naughty! But even as I say that, there’s only so far a person can be pushed, so I’m looking forward to seeing how long Amane can hold out (as if that’s somebody else’s problem).
Well then, here we are at the end, and it’s time for me to thank everyone to whom I am so obliged.
To the head editors who put so much effort into getting this series published, to everyone in the editing department at GA Books, to everyone in the sales department, to the proofreaders, to Hanekoto, to everyone at the printing press, and to all of you who picked up a copy of this book, I am truly grateful.
Let’s meet again in the next volume.
Thank you very much for reading all the way to the end!
