Long Chen was stunned to see that the newcomer was a Devil Emperor. She appeared to be in her forties, but her true age was likely hundreds or even thousands of times greater than she looked.
She had a single horn on her head. While her face wasn't particularly beautiful, it also wasn't ugly. Compared to the previous woman Long Chen had just seen, she was practically a heavenly fairy.
The couple before her immediately fled. As the middle-aged woman locked eyes with him, Long Chen’s heart pounded. Was he about to be exposed so easily?
“Come with me!” exclaimed the middle-aged woman.
She directly grabbed Long Chen’s hand, but Long Chen instinctively pulled his hand back, startling her.
She chuckled. “What are you worried about? It’s not like it’s the first time. Your mistresses are all still in seclusion.”
“My god…” Long Chen muttered.
For the first time, Long Chen felt immense sympathy for Ying Wudao. Just how many women did he serve?
Once more, the woman seized Long Chen’s hand, her expression filled with pleasant surprise. “Wow, your essence qi is quite dense. You should be able to provide me with ample seed, right?”
“...”Long Chen had successfully imitated Ying Wudao’s aura, but the moment she grasped his hand, she immediately sensed the immense power of his Blood Qi.
Luckily, she didn't suspect his identity. Instead, she simply assumed that Ying Wudao had been suppressing his energy for too long and was overdue for a release.
Long Chen let himself be dragged away by her. By this point, he couldn’t run even if he wanted to. His mind raced as he searched for an opportunity to slip away. However, this woman’s status appeared to be extremely high—everyone who saw her immediately stepped aside in deference.
Fuck, you’re already geriatric! Can you even have children at your age?!
Long Chen cursed inside. As his mind whirled for a way out, an elder suddenly appeared in front of them. Long Chen’s heart skipped a beat. This elder’s devil qi was immense—he was a mid-stage Devil Emperor.
The elder frowned at them. “Yu Mo, what kind of time is this for you to be playing around? The hive lord has summoned us.”
“Huh? Why wasn’t I informed?” Yu Mo asked in surprise.
“The message just arrived. Hurry up,” the elder said, not sparing Long Chen another glance before striding away.
The middle-aged woman looked at Long Chen hesitatingly, as if calculating something.
Oh hell, don’t tell me you’re thinking of a quickie?! Long Chen’s scalp tingled.
In the end, she gritted her teeth and shoved a tablet into Long Chen’s hand.
She threatened, “Take my tablet and wait for me in my cave. If I don’t see you when I get back, I’ll make sure all your little secrets come spilling out.”
Without another word, she turned and left, leaving Long Chen standing there with the tablet in hand.
Is this not too crazy?
Long Chen felt as if he were going crazy. It seemed Ying Wudao had some kind of leverage against her—but at the same time, she might also be using him.
I have to admit, Ying Wudao, I’m impressed.
Long Chen was speechless. The fact that Ying Wudao could escape this place without any of them noticing was definitely not luck.
Then Long Chen’s gaze landed on the tablet, and his heart surged with excitement. Could this tablet grant him direct access to the altar?
“I have to test it!” exclaimed Long Chen.
Gritting his teeth, Long Chen rushed forward. According to the elder, most of the devil race’s higher-ups were in a meeting. With their focus diverted and a high-ranking tablet in hand, was this finally a stroke of luck for Long Chen?
Without a doubt, their gathering had to be related to the battle against the violet blood race. A decision of that scale would take time to conclude.
Long Chen quickly reached the heart of the city and saw a large cave entrance. Once he entered, he would be in the devil race’s real hive.
Unlike other devil race tribes, this one seemed to prefer underground dwellings. The cavern was an entirely different world—a vast, labyrinthine network akin to an enormous ant’s nest. Without Ying Wudao’s map, Long Chen would have been lost immediately.
The tunnels were large and bustling. Just as Ying Wudao had mentioned, the devil race in this tribe was a mix of various lineages, exhibiting all manner of strange forms.
The majority of them all looked at Long Chen scornfully. Some even mocked him as they passed by.
Several women’s eyes lit up upon seeing him. A few even attempted to grab him, forcing him to dodge out of their reach.
“I really can’t let Wan-er learn about this, or I’ll lose my face,” Long Chen swore to himself.
Although Long Chen encountered some minor trouble through these winding passageways, due to Ying Wudao’s reputation in the devil race, no one truly dared to do anything to him. That allowed Long Chen to reach the core without any danger.
But here, Long Chen needed to be extra cautious. Up ahead, the area was eerily silent—clearly a restricted zone where ordinary devils were not permitted.
Turning a final corner, he spotted a massive gate. Just as he laid eyes on it, a chilling voice rang out.
“The altar is not for you!”
A terrifying pressure crashed onto Long Chen, freezing him in place.
His heart pounded. A mid-stage Divine Emperor was actually guarding this location. This had to be the same existence that Long Chen had sensed when his divine sense snuck into this place.
Gulping, Long Chen steeled himself. The gap between an ancient violet-crown Devil Emperor and a modern Divine Emperor was indescribable.
Before entering the Heaven Vein Mystic Realm, he had fought Divine Emperors and even killed them. But only now did he realize the stark disparity between an ordinary Divine Emperor and a violet-crown Devil Emperor.
An ordinary rank-nine Divine Emperor was trash compared to a rank-one violet-crown Divine Emperor. And a mid-stage violet-crown Divine Emperor? Their mere presence immobilized him. That was the gap.
Forcing himself to stay calm, Long Chen said, “Mistress Yu Mo sent me. I have her tablet here.”
The pressure slightly lightened. Seizing the moment, Long Chen presented the tablet.
A withered hand materialized from thin air and snatched the tablet. An elderly figure clad in gray robes emerged, his body as emaciated as a dried-up corpse.
However, the moment he laid eyes on the tablet, his expression abruptly darkened.
“Brat, you dare to lie to me?! You are courting death!” barked the elder.
A terrifying pressure unfurled.
