The supposed wound that they dealt was slowly stitching back together. Like threads, a black liquid seeped out from its wound and slowly hardened to create a new layer. This procedure repeated as the opening seemed to gradually become smaller.

Seeing this scene, Yang Ji and Yang Xu could not help but worry if their attack had not done anything. In fact, they might have just enraged this beast, causing their downfall.

As this monster faced them, these two tiny beings, the difference in their size was only further highlighted. It was fortunate that the Protective Array was up. Otherwise, with how much killing intent was being pressed down upon them, the twins might have crumbled to their knees.

Yet, despite its overwhelming advantage, the monstrosity chose not to get any closer.

Its instinct was screaming warnings at it – these two absolutely could not be underestimated. Despite their small stature, that one attack had nearly ended its life. However, there was also another compelling force inside of it. A drive to want to destroy everything.  A madness that it could not contain.

A madness which drove it to continue its slaughter.

Ignoring its injury, the monster concentrated all its energy towards its jaws.

A black ball of concentrated Black Ink Strength gathered, charging up for a full release.

At this distance, it could not possibly miss!

Not even a second later, a black beam fired, completely opposite to the white beam from before.

Yang Ji and Yang Xu wanted to react but they had failed to do so. In fact, they had not thought it would release a counter attack so soon.

The black beam struck true to its target. It struck the Protective Array surrounding the twins.

Ripples formed on the thin barrier around them, as small web-like cracks spread out. The force of the beam also pushed them back, further into enemy territory.

*Crack* A sound of something cracking could be heard. It came not from their bones but the Protective Array around them!

Yang Xu saw this and immediately panicked. She injected more Qi into the Array Plate. Even if they were not afraid of Black Ink Strength corrupting them, the force of this beam was certainly something they could not possibly take on. A direct hit might as well have been fatal. She could not help but call out to Yang Ji, “Brother, do something!”

Yang Ji took out two more Ninth-Order Crystals. Once more, he clasped them in his hands and released another beam of Purifying Light!

The white and black collided. One filled with vibrance while the other filled with agony. The former was about the thickness of an arm, while the latter was as thick as a Human body.

One would have expected a battle between two great powers. However, that was far from reality. Purifying Light sliced through the black beam like it was nothing, shooting straight through. This time, it was the monster who did not have time to react.

Despite the increase in distance, this beam was more concentrated that the last. Unbeknownst to the monster, it had travelled inside its own attack almost unnoticed. When it finally noticed something was off, it was already too late. The beam had already shot through its head.

Unhindered by the mass in front of it, the beam shot through all ‘organs’ it faced, exiting out of the back of the monster.

However, Yang Ji felt this was not enough. With a flick of his wrist, the beam shot down, slicing through space like a blade.

The monster, unable to even so much as raise a roar, got split in two. Its regeneration, no matter how effective, failed to cease its demise. There, it collapsed to the ground, unable to raise any resistance.

Yang Ji and Yang Xu saw the result with wide eyes. Though they had expected the might of a Ninth-Order Purifying Light to be effective, they had not expected it to be this effective. Furthermore, the ground beneath, where the monster stood, had a deep cut as though the abyss had been created.

Both twins could not help but wonder how far this beam had shot to. If it had even reached back to Mo?

Still, it had to be said that at this point, Yang Ji had given his all to condense the Purifying Light into that single dense beam. It was no thicker than an arm, but it had sapped him of so much energy, he felt faint.

Yang Xu had noticed and quickly held her arm out to support him.

However, Yang Ji, always the one to put up a front, said, “I’m fine. No need to worry.”

He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and did one circulation of Heaven Earth Symmetry Cultivation Technique. Warm Qi immediately flowed from his Dantian through his whole body, making him feel completely refreshed.

He turned around and smiled back at her, “I have you with me, after all.”

Yang Xu rolled her eyes at him. However, the joy in her eyes could not be hidden.

With the Heaven Earth Symmetry Cultivation Technique, they two were as one. Qi sharing was the most basic of applications.  In a way, what Yang Ji said was just facts. Though, what one wants to hear was entirely different.

Yang Ji looked towards the monster that had just fallen and indicated to his Sister, “Hey, let’s go forward to take a look.”

“En” Yang Xu gave a nod. However, this time, before she even began to take another step forward, she already took out a pair of Blue and Yellow Crystals. This time, she had prepared Ninth-Order ones, in case something unexpected were to happen.

With Yang Xu leading the front, along with the Array Plate one on hand and the Crystal on the other, they ‘soon’ arrived at the monster.

‘Soon’ being a couple of minutes of flying at their fastest speed. They were not able to tear through Space to the outside while in this Protective Array. Within it, they were still able to do it. Furthermore, that was just how far that monster had pushed them back with its one beam attack.

Not waiting to even lower the Protective Array for even a second, Yang Xu had led Yang Ji to fly over.

Taking in its grandeur, even if just a pair of gigantic carcasses, Yang Xu could not help but ask, curious, “What cultivation realm do you think it was in?”

At their current cultivation realm, they could not even begin to fathom what kind of monstrosity this thing was. Unlike Mo Na Ye, who they were previously aware of from their Father, and thus knew of his cultivation realm, this was an entirely new unknown entity.

“Maybe a Feudal Lord?” Yang Ji guessed, though he was questioning his Sister in his mind. [What are you asking me for? Neither of us would know. We don’t know anyone who is weaker than a Royal Lord…]

“Not a Territory Lord?” Yang Xu asked in return, also doubting.

“Well, we both know that it is at least not a Royal Lord. It must be weaker. For now, how about we leave it as that before we ask Mo Na Ye?” Yang Ji said as he moved closer to the thin protective barrier, trying to get a good look at the carcass.
