Chapter 6240: The Eyes on Chu Feng
Chu Feng wanted to ask more, but Jie Shanxian had begun meditating to recuperate, so he had no choice but to focus on the road.
...
Meanwhile, all the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion’s Saint-tier elders were gathered in an observation formation, including the Ling Clan’s Clan Chief.
They were observing everything in the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion’s vicinity to locate Chu Feng, but the latter was nowhere to be found.
“Are you sure it’s Chu Feng?” The Ling Clan’s Clan Chief found it hard to believe.
The formation was unharmed, but Chu Feng must have come prepared.
“There is no mistake. It is Chu Feng. He had a cat demon with him, and that cat demon wields power comparable to a rank five Heavenly God level cultivator, according to the feedback of our formation. Lord Mansion Master said that our formation can restrain even a rank five Heavenly God level cultivator, but both Chu Feng and that cat demon still got away.”
“There has to be someone formidable behind Chu Feng. That would explain how he monopolized so many fortuitous encounters, including the Immemorial Massacre Sea. I wonder what he got from there.”
“This isn’t good news for our Seven Realms Sacred Mansion. Other than Lord Mansion Master, no one is a match for that cat demon once we step out of the protective formation.”
“It’s not just the cat demon who poses a threat. Chu Feng was carrying a treasure too. That treasure emanated a powerful wave of spirit power that curbed our clan’s protective formation. Who knows? He might just figure a way to breach our protective formation with it!”
The Saint-tier elders were sweating profusely. They were in charge of monitoring the protective formation, and they personally saw Chu Feng and Old Cat through the formation.
When Chu Feng was restrained, they immediately led their army out to capture him, only to see him escaping with their own eyes. Not knowing the truth, they were misled into thinking that Chu Feng was a far more troublesome opponent than he truly was.
The Ling Clan’s Clan Chief and the remaining Saint-tier elders revealed uneasy looks.
“It’s a good thing Lord Mansion Master should be returning soon.” The Ling Clan’s Clan Chief looked toward God’s Era via the observation formation.
When God’s Era suddenly closed back then, a humongous formation incense stick appeared. Even though it was a formation, it was lifelike and was gradually burning down. By now, it was already on the verge of going out.
Most people speculated that God’s Era would open once the incense stick was burned out, allowing those trapped inside to escape.
“Lord Mansion Master should be able to acquire the power inside God’s Era, right?”
This matter calmed the worried Saint-tier elders a little.
Even though God’s Era had closed, there was a massive mirror reflecting the situation inside. Jie Tianran had been in a leading position from the start, and he was still maintaining his lead.
If they were truly competing for the power inside God’s Era, the person most likely to acquire it was none other than Jie Tianran.
...
Chu Feng channeled the bamboo boat toward the Bloodline Galaxy.
The Seven Realms Galaxy was humongous, and God’s Era happened to be along the way. While Chu Feng was passing by God’s Era, he couldn’t help but look at what was happening inside.
“Is it about to open?” Chu Feng asked.
“Chu Feng, do you think Jie Tianran will acquire the power inside God’s Era?” Eggy asked.
“He’ll get something out of God’s Era, but it won’t be that power,” Chu Feng replied.
“What makes you so certain?”
“Have you forgotten about God’s Era’s prophecy? It’s stated that the power will be abstained by a junior.”
“I thought you don’t believe prophecies?”
“I should believe prophecies that benefit me,” Chu Feng replied.
He glanced at Jie Shanxian, who had stopped recuperating to look at God’s Era. She had only heard about God’s Era, yet it was now right in front of her. Naturally, she was extremely curious about it.
“Elder, do you know how strong Jie Tianran is?” Chu Feng asked.
“I don’t know.” Jie Shanxian shook her head.
“How could you tell from the formation that he’s extremely powerful?” Chu Feng asked.
“That protective formation was left behind by our ancestors, and it is powered by a formidable Ancient Era’s treasure. Based on what I know, the formation is minimally strong enough to ward off a rank five Heavenly God level cultivator, whereas the upper limit is determined by how strong the person controlling the formation is.
“It was only capable of warding off rank five Heavenly God level cultivators back when the previous mansion master was still alive. To put it in other words, that’s the limitation of the previous mansion master.
“But that’s only normal. Our ancestors exploited all the resources available in the earlier days of the present era, to the point where there is nothing much left for us. That is why the powerhouses from the earlier days of the present era are far stronger than us. If you ask me, I don’t think those powerhouses are any more talented than those of our generation.
“Luck is necessary everywhere, whether for martial cultivation or even just everyday life. Reincarnating into the right clan can easily go a long way. Honestly, we were also lucky to be more talented than others too.”
Chu Feng nodded in agreement. “You’re right, elder.”
Despite the tribulations he had been through, he had to admit that he had good luck, or else he would have never stumbled upon so many fortuitous encounters.
“Anyway, the protective formation has been maintained at that level since those powerhouses’ departure, and that Ancient Era’s saint beast happened to be at rank five Heavenly God level, but he was still trapped by the formation.
“This means that the protective formation has surpassed its minimum prowess under Jie Tianran’s control. From this, we can get a glimpse into Jie Tianran’s strength,” Jie Shanxian said.
“Elder, are you saying that Jie Tianran might have reached rank six Heavenly Dragon?” Chu Feng asked.
“It’s hard to say. Ability does not necessarily translate to spirit power. Your ability to improve the formation blueprint provided by that Ancient Era’s saint beast despite your low spirit power is the best proof of that. That being said, Jie Tianran should be quite powerful now. You should tread carefully. Don’t underestimate your enemy. If I wasn’t with you, you would have been captured by the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion,” Jie Shanxian said.
“Elder, I heard the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion is protected by an ancestor from the early days of the present era. Is that true?” Chu Feng asked.
Jie Shanxian didn’t answer the question. “Let’s get going.”
She closed her eyes and continued meditating.
Chu Feng turned his focus back on channeling the bamboo boat. It was surprisingly hard to control that even he would have to get a little serious here. Any other rank one True Dragon World Spiritist would have struggled to move the bamboo boat.
“Chu Feng, will that black metal lump be sturdy enough for your use?” Eggy asked.
“I’m not sure, but I’ll give it a try later. If even that black metal lump isn’t sturdy enough, it’ll likely be impossible to find anything suitable in the world of cultivation. I’d have to make my way to the Ninth Galaxy for it,” Chu Feng said with a sigh.
He was looking forward to the Ninth Galaxy after hearing all the stories about it.
Little did he know that even though the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion failed to find him, there was still a pair of eyes locked on him.
