The Imperial assembly.

Also known as the Unseen Intent.

Its name originated from the diet building having never been noted on any map. The location was only passed through word of mouth from superiors to their underlings, and was never to be written down.

Five thousand meters underground, the deepest part of the Empire.

In the past, it had been an excavation site known as the Planet’s Navel.

Within the assembly hall, bright-red alarm lights were flashing.

It had never been broken into before. The only means of entry was the central military base’s elevator. And a witch had brazenly entered the Imperial military base.

“All communications have been cut off from the central base.”

“Break in through the front… No, they’ve been destroyed… Not a single person from the communications team has survived?”

Seven monitors showed images of men and women.

They were the same sages who had served the previous Lord. Or, to be more precise, they were the cyberbrains of those people.

A century ago, the octet had sought astral energy, and now they had the goal of obtaining a power that transcended astral power from the planet’s core. Though they had lost Luclezeus and now only numbered seven.

“Unbelievable…”

“Was it you, Elletear?”

Ah-ha. The sound of a charming laugh resounded through the space. Her voice, as alluring and kind as a goddess’s, and beguiling as a devil’s reached them.

“Ah-ha…ah-ha-ha…what a wonderful feeling.”

The witch with emerald hair made her way down from the assembly’s ceiling. She passed though the steel walls almost like a ghost. A witch with the face of a goddess had descended before them, performing acts that should have been impossible for a human.

She turned to the Eight Great Apostles.

She wore a black wedding dress…

…instead of typical Nebulis Sovereignty garb. Her dress was like black mist. Though more of her skin was exposed than not by the design of the dress, seeing her only brought on a spine-chilling emptiness.

“You’ve changed your clothes, is that so?”

“Yes. I thought this was much more witchlike.”

She nodded and blushed. She sounded strangely happy, and her eyes looked soft.

“Hee-hee. Ah-ha-ha…I’m so sorry, Eight Great Apostles. It seems the calamity which you seek took a liking to my body.”

“Elletear, or rather Subject E, just as Kelvina feared, we found elements within you that would allow you to accommodate the power that slumbers within the core of the planet.”

“So you have obtained the ultimate power of this planet.”

Only a small number knew the truth. In the core of the planet, there slumbered a calamity that transcended the astral powers. The Eight Great Apostles had yearned to have the power for themselves. Though the Lord and Founder had encountered it a hundred years prior, they had not been able to handle it. As a result, one had changed in appearance and the other had lost her sense of self.

“I believe you said this in the past. That if you were to obtain the power, you wanted to become a true witch. That you wanted to become the greatest and only witch—the last one in the world.”

“Yes.”

“You also said you wished to reform the Sovereignty. To make it a place where one’s worth wasn’t determined by the astral crest they were born with and turn it into a true utopia where all astral mages are equal.”

“Yes. So, to begin—”

She spread her arms wide.

She arched backward, as if emphasizing her chest. Her voice rung out with excitement she could not hide…

“The Eight Great Apostles are now a hindrance to me.”

“ ”

“What did you say?”

“Oh, I’m sure you were aware.” She cackled under her breath. “Now that I’ve assimilated fully with it, none of you are able to compete with me. That was why you ordered Kelvina to take care of me before it could happen. You even took my younger sister hostage to use as a last resort. You believed I couldn’t touch you as long as you did that.”

All of their plans had ended in failure. From Kelvina’s research facility to Elletear’s escape. Even Sisbell, who had been captured, had been saved by Unit 907.

“I will of course uphold my promise. I will destroy the Lord, the Empire, the Founder, and the Sovereignty. In fact, I will remake everything beautifully.”

She spoke of destruction through her beguiling lips.

“Good night, you fools who sought power.”
