(That Fly King……)
At the time of my first attack, he reacted even faster than that Princess Knight.
In terms of physical speed, that Princess Knight is probably superior.
That’s why the Princess Knight blocked her strike.
However, when it only comes to their reflex speed……
The one who became aware of my existence and tried to move first was that Fly King.
He’s dangerous.
That exchange between Ferenoch and the Fly King.
Until the moment when she unleashed that “Paralyze” spell———
Everything Fly King said was the truth.
Normally, when someone tells a lie, there would be a very subtle sense of discomfort mixed in with their words.
That was something I’m able to sense.
Not just instinctively, as it was a practical skill I could always make use of.
However, Fly King didn’t have the slightest sense of that discomfort until before he said that word.
Until just before that moment, he probably “believed” in it himself……
That just like what he said, he is one of us.
He is deceiving everyone———- including himself.
He’s abnormal.
He’s extremely abnormal.
If it was only him that was speaking, Fly King would have fooled me too.
However, Seras Ashrain’s reaction made me see through his lie.
That Princess Knight isn’t as skilled in acting as the Fly King.
Well, she seems to have a noble soul.
For a person like her, it would be difficult to say something as truly allowing the Sixth to have their way with her body.
It’s just, yes……
I could have saved the Sixth when I saw that it was a lie.
I could have approached them and tried to kill them.
However, I did not.
That’s because my first priority is “to figure out the unknown power the Fly King possesses, Sorcery”.
Cutting off the Sixth, I made the decision that would allow me to acquire that information with certainty.
To have a firm grasp of the enemy’s cards before I make my move.
“Don’t you have any emotional attachments for the Sixth Cavalry?”
If I were to be asked such a thing, I could only shake my head.
It’s just that we’ve been fighting together until now.
As for what occurred to them……
I could only think that something unfortunate happened to them.
Eventually, I think that the battlefield would be alright even if I’m by myself.
Therefore, the feeling of “avenging my comrades” never really occurred to me.
However, they sure are useful.
Thanks to them, I was able to somewhat determine the true identity of his Sorcery.
I turned my gaze to Ferenoch and the others that were groaning on the ground.
Looking at them……
“Well done.”
That was what all I could think of.
[……………………..]
It was a good decision to have the Divine Beast waiting in another place, away from here.
Fly King seems to be on the right track.
The things we did to the Dragonkin soldiers might make the enemy angry.
At the very least, one of the Four Warlights, beings that should be considered as their Generals, had been defeated.
It is possible that they will send their main force to the Sixth in response.
There’s a chance that Mad Emperor and his Mira’s elite troops, their collaborators, may come.
So, using the Sixth as bait, me and the other cavalrymen would enter the door with the Divine Beast———–
Thereupon, we’ll kill the Mad Emperor and whoever crosses our path.
Killing anyone that could be called their King, we’ll take away the decision-making authority of the Faraway Country.
Not a bad idea, or so I thought.
However……
Something I hadn’t expected at all occurred.
That Fly King needs to die here.
My instincts are telling me.
He’s “just like” me.
He resembles me.
He feels similar.
As if I’m looking at my own reflection.
Indeed, there are differences between us.
We have a lot of differences.
