Chapter 28 – Loving Father

 

As soon as he said that, Tang Xianlian became dumbfounded . Back in those years when they were still together, whenever they disagreed, He would nudge the tip of her nose like this and then say that she was being mischievous .
For a moment, this familiar gesture and tone of voice seemed to bring back the good old days of youth .
Bai Shuli saw that she got startled, then took her hand and continue walking to the playground . If she had looked into his face, she would have seen that his expression was one of delight .
Chengcheng had been playing with his classmates on the playground while waiting for his mother to be over with the parent-teacher conference . Nonetheless, when he saw her coming to pick him up, he and ran happily towards them .
“Mom! Dad!”
Once Tang Xianlian saw her, she decided not to argue with Bai Shuli for the time being . She was about to open her arms to meet him when she realized that her son’s target is not her . Instead, he was heading toward Bai Shuli’s side .
Bai Shuli let go of her hand, lift up Chenfcheng with his pair of strong arms .
“Good boy . ” His smile was very bright, and his eyes were full of love . Then he even let sit directly on his shoulders . That height made Chengcheng feel quite superior .
“Come, daddy will take you to play . ” While saying that, he was already running out like the wind .
The playground was just several manufactured obstacle games for people to play . That included ladders, wooden bridges, slides, and Tarzan ropes . Bai Shuli carried his son straight through the obstacle game, and Chengcheng was holding his head tightly in agreement .


Bai Shuli climbed up the ladder, then crosses the wooden bridge . Afterward, slid down like in the slider and jumps over the wooden horse with one hand . He was moving as fast as the wind, sometimes jumping up, others jumping down . All the while, Chengcheng who was sitting on his shoulder was shaking from side to side but remained holding onto him tightly with both hands .
“Are you afraid?” He asked .
Chengcheng answered stubbornly: “Not afraid!”

“Very good, that’s my son . ” Bai Shuli took his son all the way across the barrier without stopping . Then, before running to the final stage that was the Tarzan rope, he reminded him: “Hold on tight . We’re going to swing over!”
Chengcheng got a little terrified as he watched as his dad jumped forward and grabbed the Tarzan rope . Then swang from one end to the other while screamed like Tarzan .
Bai Shuli let go of the Tarzan rope and land safely and easily . This obstacle game was as easy as blowing a match stick for a person like himself that regularly goes to the gym .


“How was it, was it fun?” he asked his son with a smile .
Chengcheng was originally scared . Nonetheless, he was nothing but a fun-loving kid . That was so exciting that he couldn’t help but laughing with excitement .
“It was fun! It was so much fun!” Chengcheng has never been taken by an adult to play like that before . No one had ever taken him to do this sort of thing, that was exciting as a heroic adventure . Thus, he couldn’t help but like his dad even more .
At this time, a group of school children rushed over and shouted excitedly at them .
“Uncle, you’re awesome!”
“Tang Jingcheng! Your dad is awesome!”


“It looked so much fun to be up there!”
“It’s more fun than your average piggyback riding!”
“Tang Jingcheng . Does it feel like flying to sit up there?”
“Tang Jingcheng, your dad is so tall! That’s great!”
“I want to sit too! So jealous!”
