D*mn it!
Who could handle this?!
Zaka was already breaking out in a cold sweat, ready to consider retreating.
He felt like their luck on this mission was terrible—every mutant worm they encountered had some sort of deadly trick, and none of them were easy to deal with.
"Fall back!"
Fang Heng shouted, stepping forward toward the surging swarm of mutant worms.
With a surge of mental power, he instantly unleashed the force of his lifeblood in a powerful burst!
What?!
Before Zaka and the others’ astonished eyes, the dense swarm of mutated insects rushing toward Fang Heng suddenly froze mid-air—then exploded one after another into clouds of blood mist!
A lifeblood ripple!
It was the same technique Fang Heng had used on the Disaster creatures back in the Death Realm.
If it worked on higher-level Disaster creatures, these normal mutant worms were nothing to him.
Su Guantong was truly stunned by the scene in front of her.
Fang Heng’s mastery over blood was far beyond what she had anticipated.
He had definitely surpassed the Marquis-level vampire players.
His strength already placed him among the top-tier players in the entire game!
If it had been any other player entering this forest, the outcome would have been disastrous.
But Fang Heng had effortlessly wiped out the entire mutant swarm.
Who exactly was he?
No one from the Federation’s registry matched him.
Everyone had their traceable growth path.
Such a powerhouse couldn’t appear without leaving any record.
Unless...
Su Guantong turned her head slightly, staring at Fang Heng’s profile.
Unless his face, name, and identity were all a disguise!
In the blink of an eye, the swarms of mosquitoes flooding out of the forest were obliterated by the power of his lifeblood, and the surroundings gradually fell silent.
The shattered flesh and blood of the mutant worms quickly evaporated in mid-air, condensing into tiny blood beads that gathered in front of Fang Heng and slowly formed a floating mass of blood hovering in the air.
Fang Heng raised his right hand high above his head.
Guided by his will, the blood mass floated higher, eventually hovering more than three meters above him.
"Blood explosion!"
Fang Heng shouted softly, then forcefully swung his raised right hand forward!
Almost instantly, dense streams of tiny blood beads shot out from the blood mass hovering above Fang Heng’s head!
Like a hail of bullets from a machine gun, each blood bead continuously fired deep into the dense forest ahead!
"Boom! Boom! Boom boom boom boom boom!!"
Explosions erupted nonstop within the forest!
Every blood bead that struck its target triggered a violent lifeblood detonation!
At the same time, tremors shook the ground beneath their feet.
Zaka’s face paled slightly as he watched the forest ahead engulfed in lifeblood explosions.
D*mn.
These explosions were terrifying.
Maybe, compared to the mutant worm swarms, Fang Heng was the real nightmare here?
"Boom! Boom boom... boom!!!"
The bombardment lasted for a full minute before gradually dying down.
Zaka glanced cautiously at Fang Heng beside him, parting his lips as if to say something.
"Bzzz..."
The buzzing sound returned to their ears.
Turning their heads toward the forest ahead, they saw that the explosions had disturbed the entire swarm of mutant mosquitoes hidden within. Like a black cloud blotting out the sky, the swarm surged toward Fang Heng once more!
"You’ve got to be kidding... still not done?"
Zaka clicked his tongue.
The sheer number of mutant worms was horrifying.
Thank goodness they had a powerhouse like Fang Heng on the team—otherwise, even if they found the ore veins, they wouldn’t have been able to collect them.
Fang Heng stood his ground, raising his head to coldly watch the approaching swarm.
"Bang! Bang bang bang!!"
As the swarming mutant mosquitoes entered the range of Fang Heng’s blood ripple control, they began to self-detonate one after another, transforming once more into patches of blood.
Behind him, Su Guantong silently observed Fang Heng.
Age, build, skill mastery, vampire bloodline, power level—and the biggest coincidence: the name.
Suddenly, a chilling thought rose in her heart.
Could it be...?
Could this guy actually be Fang Heng himself?
A bold choice.
Disguising his face but using the same name.
Was it to exploit a psychological blind spot?
Or did he simply not care if his identity was exposed?
Or was he so confident that no one would uncover his secret?
Su Guantong stared at Fang Heng’s profile, her suspicions reaching their peak.
Her instincts screamed at her.
This man in front of her—he was Fang Heng!
The World Lord of both the Vampire Apocalypse and Zombie Apocalypse!
Meanwhile, Fang Heng remained unaware that Su Guantong had already seen through his identity. He focused all his attention on detonating the mutant worms with his lifeblood ripple, condensing their blood into lifeblood bombs and hurling them deeper into the forest, attempting to lure even more mutant worm swarms out.
And so, this process repeated several times.
Until the final wave, the number of mutant mosquito bodies lured out by the explosions had dropped to less than a tenth of the first wave.
"That should be enough," Fang Heng said as he cleared out the last wave of mutant worms with his lifeblood power. He turned to Zaka and the others. "Let’s go. Time to check inside the forest."
"Yeah."
Zaka and the others exchanged cautious glances before following Fang Heng deeper into the forest.
As they proceeded, a few remaining mutant worms continued to gather, but without exception, every one of them exploded mid-air into blooming bursts of lifeblood the moment they got close.
Soon, Su Guantong, guided by the mapping device, arrived at a certain location in the forest and came to a stop.
[Hint: Your team has discovered a spirit crystal ore vein.]
[Hint: You have gained 500,000 battlefield contribution points.]
"We found it!"
The team lit up with excitement upon seeing the game prompt.
Just by following Fang Heng earlier and clearing out a wave, even though they hadn’t done much, they had already racked up over 300,000 contribution points. Now, another 500,000 had been added.
They were already closing in on a million points!
And how long had they even been in this game?
The best part was, they hadn’t faced any real danger.
All that remained was to mine a batch of spirit crystals and bring them back to the ship, which would net them an even larger haul of contribution points.
Zaka could hardly contain his excitement just thinking about it.
Following the game’s prompt, the group ventured deeper into the dense forest, eventually arriving at the marked location in the heart of the woods.
"But... where’s the ore?"
Zaka turned around and saw Zate glancing around in confusion.
Right, where was the spirit crystal mine they were promised?
Fang Heng also surveyed the surroundings.
They were now standing in the central region of the forest.
Massive stone pillars towered around them, overgrown with climbing vine creatures.
Scattered across the ground were numerous toppled stone pillars, lying in disarray.
The damage on these shattered pillars didn’t seem fresh—it wasn’t caused by the recent lifeblood explosions but rather by destruction from long ago.
"I think these might be the spirit crystals we’re looking for," Su Guantong said, crouching next to one of the fallen giant stone pillars while holding the mapping device. She pointed to the embedded blue crystalline decorations on the pillar.
Zaka blinked, then looked down at the ruins of the Tier 1 stone pillar by his feet, "Huh? You mean those decorations on the pillars?"
