FALL IN LOVE, GIRLS—I MEAN, WARRIORS
“No, no, no! The strongest male among them is that fine chienthrope man who bested us!”
“His bulging muscles, his piercing eyes, and his cute little tail!”
“Bullcrap! My werewolf man was way stronger than him! When I think of the way he looked down at me with those ruthless, amber eyes, I get the shivers!”
“That ‘Ra-ool’ boy was a lot stronger than he looked, too! Even though he was mostly just carrying weapons around, he looked so manly doing it!”
“Oh, I miss them already! All those strong, healthy males who gave us such a thrashing!”
Well, this is a terrifying sight.
That thought ran through Bache’s mind as she gazed upon the scowling faces of her arguing sisters-in-arms.
“You’re all wrong! No man can beat that hunky dwarf daddy who wiped the floor with us!”
“When his chunky fist met my nose…I think I fell in love!”
“I’ll never forget his manly features as long as I live!”
After Tiona defeated her and halted the rite, Bache had woken up aboard the Amazonian ship docked in Port Meren. The world she woke up to, however, was completely different from the one she had left—or, more to the point, the people in it were.
“I want to be his mate!!”
“I want to have his children!!”
“It hurts…I can’t stand being apart anymore…”
To be specific, they had all fallen helplessly in lust with the proud male warriors of Loki Familia who had thoroughly trounced them. Their cheeks were flushed, and the expressions on their faces were more akin to animals in heat than to brave Amazons.
It was a side effect, perhaps, of growing up on the island state of Telskyura. These women were forced to engage in endless battle, never learning the first thing about love, and so the moment they met a strong man, they fell for them, hard. The very same thing had happened to Tione, though, of course, Bache had no way of knowing about that.
What happened while I was out cold…? she thought, aghast. I can’t stop shaking. What am I seeing?
As Tione had defeated her before she saw any of the men in action, Bache alone was spared the burden of her Amazonian instincts. Her sisters in battle were all weaker than her, and yet in this moment, Bache was utterly terrified of them.
And the worst of all was…
“…Haah…”
Argana sat by the window, hugging one leg and staring out over the waters of the lake. From time to time, she would let out a wistful sigh, softly tracing the bruise on her cheek with her finger before shaking her head to snap herself out of it and compose her slack-jawed face.
It was so embarrassing, Bache wanted to drop dead. “Kali, please, you have to do something…” she begged, turning to her goddess with tears in her eyes, but the child god wore only a blank stare.
“Our nation’s finished…” she muttered.
