We leave Lucy’s house, then I look up at the sky.
It’s nice weather out today. A walk under the clear skies can be a good change of pace.
“Lovely weather today, huh?” I said.
“Isn’t it?” Lucy replied. “It would be nice if we keep getting these sort of days. Kuah…” she yawns.
After all, it’s easier to enjoy a sunny day than the terrible weather of rain or snow. It seems that Lucy was the same, half-dozing and yawning as we walked.
“So where is this house?” I asked.
“It shouldn’t be that far from here,” Lucy said.
If it’s not far from Lucy’s current home, perhaps her previous home is also in Central District. If so, it must be a medium-sized property. Real estate prices are quite high there, especially since Baltrain is the capital city.
If it was possible, it would be nice if it was close to the Guild and the Knights’ HQ.
“… Ah, that’s right,” I said as we walked. “There was also something that happened yesterday.”
“Hmm? Is there still more?” Lucy asked.
It was a bit of a dark topic to push out while we were walking and in a good mood.
“One of the corpses I cut down seemed to be Miu’s older sister… I can’t be certain if she was, though.”
“… I see,” Lucy said.
Maybe it’s someone who looked like her. It seems that there are at least three people in the world who had a similar face.
However, as far as I know, not many people have that kind of dull blue hair. It seemed reasonable to think they were related.
“It’s better if you don’t tell Miu,” Lucy said. “It can’t be helped.”
“Oh, you think that, too, Lucy?” I asked.
Like Alexia, Lucy says it’s best not to tell Miu. Apparently, my feelings weren’t wrong.
Your sister was exploited by a lowlife bishop, and I cut her down because her corpse was being manipulated, it’s okay not to tell a young kid that sort of thing.
“But, well, follow up on her,” Lucy said. “She must be lonely.”
“…? Yeah, that’s what I mean to do,” I said.
Sure, I’m not going to leave her alone, but if anything, isn’t it better for Lucy to do the following up, as she already lives with her? Nowadays, there shouldn’t be so many daily interactions between me and Miu.
“Right, right,” Lucy said. “I’m thinking of enrolling Miu into the Magician’s Academy. It would be a shame to kill her budding magical talent here.”
“I see. I agree with that,” I said.
Well, Lucy is Lucy, and she seems to be thinking about Miu’s well-being.
Rather than just letting someone meander around with their daily life, they need some kind of goal or purpose, or more roughly, something to distract them.
Whether or not to join she’ll join the Magic Division in the future is put aside for now, and since she had the talent for it, it doesn’t seem like a bad idea to hone her skills at the Magician’s Academy. If you keep her talent closed off forever, you won’t be able to learn just what she’s capable of.
“Now then, this is the place,” Lucy said.
“Huh… it’s not half-bad,” I said.
As we spoke, we arrived at a somewhat quiet property in the Central District, a little off the main street.
The passersby are scarce. Maybe there are some houses here and they’re all at work right now.
In terms of distance, it’s a little closer to Lucy’s house than the Knights’ HQ.
It’s not too far or near to commute to the Knights’ HQ. Yeah, it’s not a distance impossible to walk even if you consider my going every day. It’s not half-bad, location-wise, right?
“It’s not very wide, but that won’t be a problem, I take it?” Lucy asked.
“I think it’s enough,” I said.
""
I reached the top of the house and stopped moving my eyes up. What I saw was a one-story house with a slightly smaller appearance than the buildings in the Central District.
It’s small, but it’s more than enough for me to live alone. I didn’t bring much luggage from my parents’ house in Biden Village to begin with. It’s just about clothes for changing, a sword, and silver for the road.
“Now then: anyone home?” Lucy asked as she knocked on the front door.
“Huh?”
Wait. Is someone inside? She said no one lives here. The sudden action causes my brain to stop for a moment.
“Who is… ah, Ms. Lucy?”
“… Miu?” I asked.
